played 625 am sat 4/15.....'early bird' golfers....finished by 1045am...all in foursome walked...no wait on any shot other 'early birders' fast players.. weather great.....course condition great....just early!!! once get past first couple of holes and rationalize you haven't 'warmed' up, the rest is gravy (golfing w/out anyone one in front of you or behind you; nice course w/ nice greens; $28.50 greens fee on a weekend; comraderie great w/ other 'crazy mofo's' who would get up at 500 to play uncrowded golf on great course in middle of LA)..............

consider rancho my home course....is the best public course in greater west los angeles area for the $...play early to avoid 5+ hour round....way above average for level of play and monetary value

Since moving to Orange County, only get to play Ranco about once a year. Always a great day. However the condition of the course was as poor as I've seen it in some time. (I know it's the middle of winter!) beacause this is such a great track, you tend to overlook the shaby condition and the almost 5 hour round. But I'll be back again next year.

nice course but most people don't care enough to fix divots. the other day I noticed every green had burn marks dotted everywhere from the mower leaking fuel or something.

Teed off at 6:18 on Sat. 11/12..We were the second group out and we finished in 3:50 all walking. So it is possible to play Rancho in less than 4 hrs. We could have played in 3:30 if the 1st group had played the front 9 faster. The course is in great shape, thanks to the staff..greens and fairways are great. Maybe they could just let the rough grow up a little.(I know, that would slow down play, but it would be a truer test.) The starters here are great, thanks to them all...

I played on 10/12, and the course was in overall good condition. This was my 3rd time playing this course, and all three times it was windy and the sun shines directly at you in some of the holes, making it difficult to see where your ball lands. The greens are multi-colored, but runs smoothly. The overall conditions are okay.
