Played thursday the 2nd and forgot how great this course is. Really have to work the ball and hit shots. This is one of the best courses in the desert and is always in fantastic shape. Everyone here is polite and helpful and saw the cart girl often. The condition of all the courses I played this past weekend were above average and I might have well been playing golf in Dana Point with the weather. Dont miss this course when you are out playing the desert.

Played sat 6/11, 7:30 am shotgun: haven't played here in a while. i like this course alot. wide fairways, but tons of bunkers and plenty of water (the water in their lakes and rivers are the clearest i've ever seen, just an interesting observation). greens in good shape, true and moderate speed (stimp=9). 90 degrees by the time we were done, slight breeze... perfect weather. nice round, nice day.

Played today ($49.00 GolfNow) and had a great time and what a course. Worth the drive from Pasadena. Everything is great about this course from start to finish.

Nick Faldo's Marriott Shadow Ridge is everything you need from a golf course. Excellent range facilities. No mats here, just the real deal for the avid golfer to get ready for the round. The staff is friendly and courteous.

The fairways were in terrific shape as these types of golf courses are normally. The greens were equally well taken care of. This is a challenging course for both the novice and advance player. I was trully impressed on the layout. It's not tricked out and just ready to reward you for the endless hours you pour into your game. The novice will find this course a pleasure as it will inspire you into working on your game just so you can come back to show your stuff.

In summary, this was worth the drive from Huntington Beach. I would play there again.

best summer conditions you will find in the desert hands down. one thing you guys need to remember about golf in the coachella valley is that summer is a down time and you really shouldn't judge a course based on its conditions in the summer. summer is a time to aerify and do whatever necessary projects need to be done to get the course in prime shape for the winter.

shadow ridge is one of the top 5 public courses in the valley. fun and enjoyable round.
great conditions and fantastic customer service. you hardly ever see another hole than the one you are playing which gives a "private atmosphere" feeling.

the only negatives: the fairways are a little too wide (i'm not very accurate off of the tee and I didnt lose a ball all day), while the green surrounds too trecherous....bunkers and collection areas. multiple long par 4's 430-490 yards that dont allow you to run the ball up on to the green because of bunkers in front of the green? come on....i can remember 3 or 4 holes, particularily 6 and 18 that are just poorly designed.

tee boxes are a real dissapointment for a course at this level. the superintendent has his tee service guy put the tee markers in the front if the pin position is in the back, tees in the middle with pin in middle, and tees in the back with pin in the front. ok, now thats a detail that's not very important but go ahead and do that if you want but don't put the markers in the exact 3 same places. there are 3 distinguished humps on every that were caused from overfilling divots. no level lies. (if you have ever played at cimmaron it's even worse and quite comical that no one has ever brought it up with the superintendent).

don't get the wrong idea about anything i said about the course. i highly recommend the course and consider it one of the top 5 public courses in the valley.

Course is comparable to Classic Club in terms of conditions and quality of layout. Highly recommended.

I had heard a lot about this golf course from friends and perhaps my expectations were a bit high (it's also a Faldo design and his name is everywhere). I think the layout was really nice, the holes were scenic and provided a varied level of challenge. 80% of the greens are heavily guarded by bunkers and can make for a frustrating day if you are not hitting the ball well or have issues getting out of the traps as most of the greenside bunkers are deep with fairly steep faces. Overall, I think the course should've been in a little better condition for the money.

It s pricey,but the lay is great and customer service is better than most course's. No hidden golf shots, what you see on the tee box is what you get just a great course....Well maintained.

Easy pace at 12:15 tee 4 ball. Good service, clubhouse, F&B, and Superb Practice facility. One would expect this from the Faldo Golf School there. Solid layout. Not much more to add to Stickboy below but fairways were fast, greens soft to firm, some holding and some not. Pace on putts was medium to slow, but all greens in superb shape. Sand was a little tired, but hey, it's a bunker! Golf now.com 'hot deal' $83 riding. Really worth a look and a good test. Playing again Saturday!!!
