Saw that no body had reviewed this course for 4 years so I gave it a shot. Played 1/13/24 @ 11am paired up with a twosome and another single. Played in just over 4 hours but it seemed longer than that. Course was in good to great condition. I'm not gonna lie, the edges and the houses are on the ghettofabulous side. I think because of water conservation they removed some of the grass and surrounds. The thing is they did nothing with it, there is no effort to try and make it any more aesthetically pleasing, it's just dirt and it looks like crap. If you can get past that, the course is pretty decent. Tee boxes good and level, fairways with good coverage, sand traps with ok sand in them. Greens were the highlight of the course, smooth and rolled great! The course is a little gimmicky and goes through the whole neighborhood, the first tee is no where near the clubhouse. They may have updated the score card because the one that is on here is different than the one that is being used now. This course will not beat you up on length or difficulty, but it will make you feel good about your game.

Staff was very friendly and great to be around. Mask only required in proshop and optional on course based on the new sbc & riverside county regulations. Cups were not raised but there was foam in them. No cart girl but when we finished we saw the cart being loaded up with beer.

Course Conditions:
Greens- 10/10 Great speed, no damage on any of them and rolled true. Loved them!
Fairways- 6/10 Front 9 in much better shape than the back 9. Back 9 had spotty areas and some crab grass starting to form.
Rough- 8/10- just thick and long enough to grab your club a bit but not long enough where you cant find your ball.
Tee Boxes- 9/10- Almost all were perfect, Hole 16 had a little damage on it but other than that they were level and lush and green.
Sand- 10/10 fluffy and soft. I was in 3 traps and was able to get out of all 3.
Water- Did not smell and seemed to be very clean. One hole had a small lake with about 200 COY fish that were being fed by an automatic feeder. Pretty cool to see!

Paid $58.92 to play. For a desert course on a weekend it was a good price. Wouldn't pay more than $60 here but the conditions were good enough to charge at least $50 so fair pricing.

Rode the Blacks (70.1/120/6357) With 140ver and a nice father/son in 3H, 45M using UP. It was well over 100 when we finished just before 11, sunny and calm. Traditional, old school layout where you cross the road several times and almost every hole is surrounded on both sides by middle class, older homes. Not a tight course, a few lakes and some trees, the difficulity is moderate. Bermuda tees were decent where they had the markers, but most tee boxes had dead &/or hardpan areas. Bermuda fairways were mostly okay with many hardpan areas. Rough was more lush than the fairways, but mostly weeds. Sand traps did not look great but the ones I was in played well with a decent amount of good quality sand. Bermuda greens looked like they were still recovering from a punching maybe 3+ weeks ago? Somewhat bumpy and medium slow, they generally held irons okay with few ball marks. Quick, efficient check in. No cart person or starter, we played behind several groups of the men's club. Layout was okay, nothing special and the conditions were passable considering it has been over 100 every day for over a month. Basic carts do not have GPS. We paid $18 and it was definitely worth that, but would not pay much more, too many better options available close by.

I played today, 9-18-16. I had a Deal Caddy voucher that would expire next weekend when they will be closing for a month for overseeding. I was fortunate to be paired with a very nice couple who were members and familiar with the course. Without their help I’m sure I would have gotten lost. The course winds in an around the houses and in some parts you have to drive down the streets, sometimes for a half block to get to the next tee. There was very little signage for guidance. Their knowledge on the course was so helpful as well. A good example was on #9. The layout is very difficult to read from the tee, and I’m sure I would have headed toward the flag on #18 if I was by myself!

The conditions of the course were as to be expected with the upcoming maintenance. The fairways were mostly brown, dry and thin, but had enough green sprinkled in to keep it pleasant looking. The tee boxes were all level, the bunkers had adequate sand and the greens were firm and fast with rarely a ball mark to repair. I was grateful for the large trees that gave some much needed shade in the 105 degree sun. The carts had ice chests but no GPS which would have been a big help as the yardage markers were pretty difficult to find.

We finished in 3.5 hours. I really enjoyed the course I look forward to playing it again when the grass is green and the weather cooler!

First time to play this course last Sunday, and what a nice treat to have played this course.

My friend and I were to meet a group of people, but a snafu due to the same named course with a twist got us here by mistake. This course was only 6300 and some change in length from the back tees, but it was good enough to be fun for the three of us who stayed and played. The greens condition, the fairways and bunkers, including the tees were great!! I mean it was amazingly great for $44 a round with a cart. No driving range, just a hitting bay with a chipping area along side and a putting green up front.

This course has one of those holes laid out in sections of an old housing development- I'm not a fan, but the holes in each section were all good to play. I loved it.

I would give a high 7-low 8 rating for this course.

Additionally, there was a beverage cart who came by a couple times, and the restaurant/bar was okay.

I would definitely play this course again.

Played early Saturday morning, Jan 18th, with an online deal for 50 bucks. It was my first time there and definitely worth the price. Played in 3 hours and 50 min. The staff was really friendly and helpful. There is no range but there is a hitting net as well as a nice short game and putting area. The course was in immaculate condition. Tee boxes level, fairways lush, bunkers well manicured, greens perfect. The course winds through really old housing in the palm desert area. The 9th and 18th holes are great finishing holes for each nine. I've seen online deals for 67 bucks and I say that is still definitely a good deal for this course. And even though the course comes in at nearly 6,400 yards, the shorter length is made up with smaller well protected greens.

Good staff, fair layout and sub 4 hour round made the noon tee time an easy go today. For the super twilight rate we paid, worth it.
Be reminded; no range-only nets, chipping area and a putting green. I suggest bringing your own water, as drink stations are few. No drinks cart today, but it is very quiet.

My marathon day continued at Palm Desert CC. Got on for $39 and teed off about 2:20 by myself. I've been hearing some good things about the renovations they recently completed on this course, so I was curious to check it out. It does appear they switched the nines from the scorecard that appears on GHIN and here on GK as of this post. I zipped through the front nine, only playing through one twosome and then ran into a logjam of groups on the back. Still, my round only took about 3.5 hours, which was nice.

I was impressed with the conditioning of the course. The fairways were gorgeous and green. The rough was super thick, lush and fairly deep. It is some tough stuff to hit from! The greens were nice overall. A few thin spots here and there, but not bad. I did find them to be too firm and couldn't get my ball to stop no matter what kind of shots I tried. It was frustrating at times, but I adapted the best I could. They were smooth, though, and running at medium/slow speeds. Bunkers were nice and so were tee boxes.

The course itself is a pretty standard Palm Springs area country club/residential design that winds through neighborhoods and houses/trees line both sides of every fairway. Still, things are fairly open here without a ton of trouble to get into. The back nine is more interesting and scenic than the front, so I think switching the nines was a good choice here. The last few holes are fun and I really loved the 12th hole with an elevated tee overlooking the fairway and the mountains perfectly framing the hole from behind. It was a pleasant surprise when I rolled around the corner and saw that beautiful view. I don't know what all was renovated, but I believe they reshaped some of the bunkers and added a bit more contour in the fairways to add visual appeal and challenge. Still not the most exciting course you'll ever play, but a solid track with great conditioning and friendly workers, too.

Having noticed the course had not been reviewed/rated for THREE!! years, we made the 'sacrifice', found a deal, and launched for a noon tee time. Be aware there is no range, only warm up nets, chipping and putting green. Also, the nines have been reversed to provide a better flow through to the clubhouse. We had not played here since before management changed and re-opened, and modifications taken place to the layout.
I was impressed.
There has been significant work done on bunkering mounds, and especially greens contouring; makes it more interesting and appealing aesthetically.
Mostly, maintenance is quite apparent. All grasses were lush and thick. Rough was tough. Some areas close to 5 inches, but yet nicely cut to that length. All sand was soft and airy, with good contours to the walls. Fairways were lush, running, easy to hit from with a few bare patches. Greens complexes were expertly trimmed and mown. Surfaces were firm-'ish' and fast, but rolled smoothly but hard to hold; some bare patches witnessed. Pace was good. For an active club, only 4 hours of engaging, cruising golf. Very nice staff throughout with good food at the comfortable bar/grill.
Really worth a look with a deal.
