Had a great time as part of the guru review group on a sunny, hot day in Corona (3/9/17) with Allan_Grant, Gary00 and zgolfinman (Bob). All good guys and straight-shooters down the middle of the fairways! I want to give a special shout out to Allan as my cartmate - he knows the course well, and as this was my first time playing at Eagle Glen, he gave me a number of useful 'caddy-like' tips on various holes - thanks Allan!

Checked in and was told to grab any cart. Hit a few balls on the nice grass range to warm up a bit. Guy in pro shop told me balls were at the range, but there was a sign at the range that said they were back up by the cart-return area??? Ended up 'borrowing' 15 balls from the instructor's bin of golf balls (sorry) for the sake of expediency.

Practice putting green was very slick/fast. The starter/marshal was great, gave us good tips/advice and told us the greens on the course were faster than the putting green. While they were fast, I think they were about the same speed that day. He wanted to get us out ahead of a small outing of 3-4 groups and did, thankfully. Nice guy.

Overall, I really liked the course layout and scenery. Played the blues today, but being a short-hitter, next time out I think I'll try the whites. Hit all seven fairways on the front, but due to a number of approach shots being moderately 'uphill' into the greens on the front side, that puts extra stress on that part of the game, adding one or two clubs to one's shots.

Tees were green and mostly level, but a small handful had unacceptably uneven stances, including downhill, sidehill, straddling a crown, etc. This needs to be fixed. 6/10

Fairways were good, light green fairly tight lies in spots. Rolled well, but my tee balls did not roll as much as others in the group (weakling). Agree with the previous reviews that there were too many unrepaired divots. Aprons around the greens were dark green due to extra watering and balls landing short of the greens typically stayed short rather than getting a beneficial hop. 6/10

Rough was generally thin, not penal, with a hodge-podge of choppy/clumpy grasses, and indeed numerous bare spots from a lack of watering in areas. 4/10

Sand wasn't bad at all, found it 3-4 times. Varied a little. A few were thin fluff on top of a firm base and the others were a good amount of fluffy sand, depending on which area of the traps you were in. 6/10

In spite of not putting very well the whole day, I thought the greens were a fantastic challenge. Looks like they were verticut recently, but cannot blame that on my troubles - missing shortish putts to the right all day - I think one needs to figure out which way the drainage goes on each green, similar to Black Gold rolling > Anaheim.

Greens were very green, smooth, fast to very-fast imho, and indeed, downhill putts rolled 8-16 feet past the hole in our group at times, and rolling onto the opposite-side fringe. They were firm, and moderately held shots. Greens are generally large, with challenging undulations on a number of them. My sort of fun!!! 8/10

We teed off a little early I think, and POP was at least 4hrs 30mins. We had to wait on a number of shots throughout the day. Very cheery cart girl was by 5 times or so, water jugs every few holes was welcome and necessary on this day! Suggest bringing at least one water bottle to always have on hand. By the time we got to the back nine in the valley, temps were sweltering.

Service in the bar/restaurant after the round was so-so, staff indifferent.

I do look forward to playing here again soon via a greenskeeper coupon deal, and definitely would recommend peeps to give it a try before it gets too hot!

Had a great time on 3/9 with some new (to me) GK'ers; allan, gary00 and leef2020 at a GK event on a beautiful sunny and warm day! First time here for me in 3-4 years, forgot what a challenging course this is; very hilly on the front and reasonably flat on the back.

Customer Service: friendly staff in the Pro shop, the starter (with tips on what T's to play) and the marshall with his advice to stay out of the brush as some snakes have been spotted.

Greens: smooth, very firm and medium to fast, very fast on the downhill putts!

Fairways: firm so the ball funneled to the low areas where there was lots of unfilled divots and NO sand in the cart's bottles. There were replacement bottles on the 10th T, all EMPTY! Some bare spot on the fairways.

Traps: only in one fairway trap, it was firm but playable.

Rough: playable with some bare areas.

POP: just over 4 hours.

Lots of water stations on the course, accurate GPS system on the carts and many visits by the beverage cart. Overall, a great day! Recommend to play if you get an opportunity!

3/9 with gurus allan_grant zgolfinman and leef2020 on a warm sunny pleasant day enjoying the setting and the company. Fairways tended to be on the dry and thin side with some bare areas marked GUR--lies were tight but acceptable--got a lot of extra roll which rewarded drives down the middle but punished those on the margins when on the hazard side. Some areas like #1 had many divots mostly not filled(bottles on the cart were nearly empty) No rough to speak of along fairways but some present closer to the greens. Bunkers were mixed --fairway bunker on #3 was appropriately firm made for a good out--right green side bunker #8--new sand mostly a fried egg lie which I hit heavy to give me a flat 2nd attempt out to 3 feet -1 putt bogey-and green side #15 about 25 yds from the back pin laying on a light dusting of sand over HARD sandy dirt--used PW and tried to punch it--did ok just a little long caught it clean just a little long over the back fringe. Tees pretty good overall adequate cover and mostly level, Greens quite smooth rolled well at medium fast to fast speeds--large greens with a fair mount of slope which was not always easy to read as the contour and the prevailing topography had to be considered--undulations here are less pronounced but are also a factor. The course is scenic set back in the canyons so there is a wild and remote feel--front 9 especially has a lot of up/down elevation changes with quite a few shots that have to carry the barrancas like #5 twice and the diabolical #16. Staff was very friendly and welcoming-saw the beverage cart 5 times and marshals 3 times. POP tad over 4 1/2--there's enough trouble available for a least 1 member of the group to struggle--not us of course but the 4somes ahead. Had a good time with the guys today.

Been hearing a lot of good things about Eagle Glen lately and I've always loved the course so I snatched a GN hot deal for $27 and was out there at 11am today paired with another single and a twosome all great guys to play with. It was really crowded for a mid-week round so POP was not ideal at just a tick under 5 hours. Disclaimer, I LOVE firm and fast courses so Eagle Glen has always been right in my wheelhouse. Perhaps the course has really greened up since last week but I found the fairways to be mostly green and pretty good cushion underneath. Perhaps around 85/15 green vs bare/hardpan areas. The rain has really brought the course back to life. Rough was not much of an issue and trending toward hardpan the further away you got from the fairways. Eagle Glen is in the process of adding new sand to the bunkers so the one I was in greeted me with a nice fried egg. Soft and fluffy in the bunkers with new sand. The older ones looked to be pretty firm and compacted. Tees are really lush and frankly, could use a mow. We started on #10 today as they had verticut the greens earlier in the morning but other than the visual effect, you would never know. As others have mentioned they are so nice right now! Fast, firm, lush, and basically perfect! If you hit a good putt, it's going in. Now the one and only downside to all this rain...all the ESA areas on the hillsides would spit your ball out easily during the drought years. Not anymore! If your ball goes into one of these areas, it's as good as gone! Gurus, y'all will have a great time tomorrow and hopefully the POP will be better for you folks! PSA for all GK'ers and especially the gurus tomorrow. DO NOT ENTER THE ESA AREAS! Saw a marshall today with 2 dead rattlesnakes in his cart. One was from #1 and the other I'm not sure. But apparently it's wakey wakey time already for those bad boys so be careful!

Had the opportunity to play the course this weekend as a last minute invite. Friendly staff and quick to get out to the first tee. Tees were overseeded and very lush/even. Fairways had some couple bare areas but mainly good lies. Bermuda grass facility so I do expect firmer conditions especially during this time. I've never seen so much green this early of the year on any Bermuda facility, huge plus. Highlight of the day were the greens. Fast and firm with a true roll. Very fun experience with beautiful views throughout the course. Will definitely be back during warmer months.

All this rain and the fairways are still hard as a rock and non existing rough. Tee boxes could not be better, green and lush and level. Greens were green and smooth and faster than I have ever seen them, played like they look at the WGC this week with lots of undulations. Bunkers on the front 9 had nice soft sand in them and a pleasure to play out of. Not sure about the back 9 as I did not visit any of them. If the fairways were only 1/4 as green and nice like the rest of the course it would really be enjoyable to play. All the other courses in the area have good coverage on all their fairways, not sure why they can't either.

Played Eagle Glen 2/26. Tee time was 7am. Showed up at 645 with no one in sight on the course. Instead of letting me cruise out as a single and finish in under 3 hours they made me wait till 7 and play with a 3 some. Not a big deal, but some courtesy would be nice. POP was 4.5.

Tee boxes: level for the most part. ok coverage. no real complaints
Fairways: Bit of a mixed bag, but overall good given the recent weather.
Rough: Not really existent, maybe an inch or 1.5 most.
Bunkers: Great. good depth, no standing water.
Greens: FAST. fastest I have ever seen here. Rolling at least an 11.

Overall some of the best conditions I've seen here. Certainly the best the greens have been, almost too hard. Would definitely recommend.

Played 2/23/17. The course is in very nice condition. The greens were pretty much close to perfect except that they were very very fast. Most tee boxes were level and well covered with turf. The pace of play was not great because somehow a group of five was playing in front of us, and didn't care that they were two holes behind. I have always been told they don't allow groups of five but maybe someone knew somebody. The course was not overly wet even with all the recent rain. Sand was mostly good with some being fresh sand and a few others still hard packed by the rains. Overall a good round of golf.

Arrived, about 12:40 pm, Wednesday, 2/15/17, and received great service from Jorden in the pro shop. He allowed my golf coach/wife to ride with me, and did make it a big deal. Great guy. Was able to get out with two great guys from the PGA Store in Irvine, Dave & Mike. Really enjoyed both guys. As for the course, this is my second time playing the course. It is in stellar condition. The greens were rolling really fast, and true. The course condition was outstanding. Fairway to green, and tee boxes were all awesome. Great day out, and course was close to perfect. Bunkers were well groomed, with plenty of soft sand to hit from. Course layout is challenging and fair. Much better than I remember.
