Played here today with a 2:30pm tee time as a twosome on a $40 per online rate via their website including a cart, and the starter sent us off 15 minutes early. Finished the round in just under 4 hours, in spite of waiting on the foursome in front of us intermittently. The fairways were very nice, with no bad lies. Got good roll on a few fairways from the tee and fairway woods. Wind was up a bit, but not too bad. It was nearly impossible to 'stick' any approach shots, as the ball would roll a bit on the very firm but nice greens. Did manage to get one 5-iron within 6 inches past the hole on a par 3, so I guess it was OK. ;-) Other than a few holes that had some older unrepaired ball marks, they were in very good condition. Bunkers were like a dusting of mocha chocolate over concrete, both in the fairways and greenside - really the only negative. Very enjoyable day, and look forward to a return - this was my first time there. They have a great practice area, with driving range with grass only as far as I could tell, and two separate greens - one for putting only and one for chipping and a sand trap.

I played here on Saturday with an 8:30 tee time with family and friends. The practice green was still wet from the rain and was running slow. However on the course the greens ran medium and got faster throughout the day. As usual with the Goose, conditions were good. The fairways, rough, and tee boxes all had good to very good coverage. The rough was not to penalizing and was quite playable. The bunkers were firm but may have been due to the downpour on Friday. Pace of play was just over 4 hours. The longest wait was on the 18th. We saw the cart girl several times. The only drawback is that the goose is a minimum 1.5 drive for me.

Went out Thursday 5/5, at 7 in the morning. Course is basically the same as my last review except the greens seemed to be different, they looked like they had waffle cut look to them like they were punched but were fast and putted true, the problem was they were so hard we never needed fix any ball mark as you couldn't make any, unless you were coming into the green with a 9 iron or less, you could not keep it on the green. I must say though, the new carts are sweet. I just can't believe though that I am now paying more here than Oak Quarry. Have a good weekend.

Went out this morning at 6:30 and no one in front or behind us. Course in great shape as always. I was in one bunker, hole 5 and it had about 4-5 inches of sand, nice sand, I had to take a minute and remember how to hit out of sand and not dirt. ( I got a sandy!) Course was fairly empty early but it was because they were having a SCGA tournament there with a shotgun start at 12:30. Will be going back and am seriously thinking of see Scott Bridges for a tune up lesson.

Played 4/17 with some buddies in some VERY difficult conditions. The Santa Anas were a-blowing and we had consistent 20-25mph winds all day.
As expected, Goose was in fine shape. I don't have much to add to sixpez's review from 3 days earlier. Fairways and rough were in really good condition with great coverage throughout. Bunkers continue to be thin around the greens but have a bit more sand in the fairway traps. With the wind during this round, by guess is a bit more sand left the premises. Greens were better than Keith's description though but his comments regarding their firmness were spot on. What little moisture they had was stripped away by the wind so getting balls to react on chip shots was very difficult. They were running a bt slower than expected which was good for out round. Any quicker and balls at rest would not be at rest very long. POP was a little less than 4.5 hours teeing off at 11:20 and with the windy conditions, that felt about right. Recommended as always.

Played my GK Cup match here this afternoon with Thingstodo. It was kind of a last-minute plan, so we just picked the course and didn't really shop around. I booked the time directly on their site for $39 (with cart) at 3:12. Traffic was dreadful, so we both were running a little late. It was no big deal as we teed off around 3:20 as a twosome. We caught up and joined another twosome on the second tee. There were slower groups ahead, but things moved along OK and there was no worry about finishing before dark. Ultimately, about a 4-hour pace.

From tee to green, the course is in excellent shape. Only issues were greens and bunkers. The tee boxes are very good. The fairways are fantastic—lush with lots of perfectly fluffy lies. The rough was thick and lush. Some areas were deeper than others, so it varied in terms of how penal it was. It made a difference in our match as my ball tended to sit up while Mike found some unfortunately buried lies. I was in the nasty greenside bunker on #9, and the sand was terrible. That is such a tough bunker, it's ridiculous it never has any sand in it!!! The greens were also somewhat disappointing by Goose standards. Of course, it was late in the day, so the grass naturally gets slower and bumpier. It seemed a bit worse than normal today, though. Putts were definitely fairly slow, but the surfaces were very firm and approach shots were very difficult to hold. Chips would also run out much more than putts. It's a tough combination on these tricky greens.

Other than the greens and bunkers being less than stellar, it was another fun day at Goose Creek. I always look forward to any excuse to play here, especially in the company of fellow GK'ers!

Goose Creek was the last minute pick on our Monday Golf Tour on 04/11/2016, primarily thru recommendations on Greenskeeper.org. Apparently it was right from the start as we were waiting for our lunch order to be ready at around 01:00pm we were able to phone in our bookings for 238pm with ease.
It was even better as we arrived and were able to tee off at 215pm, could not really ask for anything better than that. The course was in almost perfect condition from a clean parking lot, wide and open on-grass practice range, well stock pro shop, friendly staff, and of course near perfect tee boxes and fairways and almost perfect greens.
The course layout was nearly perfect in my personal opinion, with easy looking wide fairways but yet tricky elevations along with doglegs, rugged terrains, bunkers, and deceiving distanced par 3's. It covered most if not all of courses obstacles thru all of its 18 holes. Pace of play was very well within the expected 4 hours +/- 15mins, $39/per golfer riding is more than reasonable. Overall, the trip was well taken; not only did we have a great round of golf, but also able to experience the feeling when playing on a well kept grass. Personally I will definitely come back whenever possible, and so would i recommend this course to anyone, Great course.

Played on 3/30 in the afternoon. Beautiful weather, good friends, and a great course. I play here regularly, and I rank it high, so I'll review it a little "picky." First I was pleased with the driving range, but the flags on the upfront greens do not line up with the stand that is rolled out for distances. As I recall, there are six up close and four on the stand. The drink cart lady was getting off about three, we were on the 8th hole. Twice I ended up in divots on the fairway, very unusual and infrequent occurrences. Reminded me it is our responsibility to fill these in, not the staff. We make the divots, ones that need a trenching permit, I probably did! The bunkers were in great shape, along with the tee boxes and greens. The staff are friendly, I highly recommend the course.

Played a couple hours after sngernz. Not much to add to his review. Our POP was the same 4:40 which is slow for the Goose. Very crowded today. We were paired with a couple of guys playing a practice round for the US Mid-Am Qualifier being held on Tuesday and it appears many others out there were doing the same as every group we could see had some serious sticks and all were playing from the tips. Taking their time on the greens was probably the reason for the slower play. As stated, greens are firm right now with only the highest softest shots holding well. Chips and pitches needed to have a lot of spin to stop. They started to get bumpy later in the afternoon. Tee boxes were also pretty hard. Rest of the course was in great shape as usual.
