Winter-thin in many areas. Some fairways are about 60/40 dry and dormant versus green and fuller. Most are about 20/80 or 30/70. Rough ditto. Tees I would estimate to be about the same. Sand was full to occasionally thin. Greens were plenty bobbly but also quite fast and firm. Paid 43 walking on a Saturday PM and thought that was just fine. Course is mainly oriented around deep greens placed at steep angles to the fairway/tee sight-line. The fairways then back this protection up with bunkers that take away the favorable angles into these slanted greens. Final twist is lots of false edges and tight-cut grass swales around these greens. Bottom line - it's position golf and one you have to think back from the pin to the tee on many holes.

Parking lot was busy when we finished at 11:15. Course was in great shape as usual. 1 or 2 fairways were thin, but this is winter. Greens were hard and fast, rolled real nice. Tee boxes level but hard. Had a good time

Teed it up in the 2nd to last group of the GK Plays last weekend. I can't really add much that hasn't been said already, the course was in great shape overall. Regarding the bunkers, I was only in two, and they were fairway bunkers; the fact that they were pretty hard-packed was a bonus for me. If they were greenside, not so much! Great day with great folks.

Played on 11/27 @ 11:06am. Overall fun experience. This is my second time playing Goose Creek. After the first time I had pretty high expectations.

The good: nice practice facilities, fairways are nice and green due to being on well water, tee boxes are for the most part fairly flat, beverage cart came around several times

The bad: POP was 4.5 hrs, I was expecting faster since the starter said the morning groups average sub 4hrs. The greens were slow. I expected faster greens. Some needed repair on the edges and some weren't even mowed that day. This was one of the best part about the Goose. You expected balls to roll true but not today.

It’s been about a week since teeing it up at Goose Creek, I normally post my review sooner but I like to wait for many player reviews to come before writing mine from an organizers perspective. I got to play with 3 GK’ers I’ve never teed it up with before and of course the experience was fun and friendly as always. Thanks caligolfer1031, roarksown1 and ahossom. The course was in the great shape I expected. Greens fast, mostly smooth and holding shots. Fairways, mostly dormant with mostly greenish color yet excellent coverage and a pleasure to play from. Rough short, mostly lush, some this spots, and longer around the greens. Bunkers well groomed, quality sand, a little thin/firm in sand in some. Tee Boxes well groomed, level, firm, some expected divot damage on par 3’s (we played whites), mostly dormant but lush. As for the layout, love it, flat, very walk-able, challenging yet forgiving, difficult greenside and putting but not unfair, big greens that are well protected, mature strategically positioned trees, good seclusion from the tee box from each hole with only a few were adjacent fairways come into play, challenging greenside bunkers, no easy holes, some long par 3’s and an 18th hole as tough and interesting as they come. Perhaps best of all, for an outing mind you, pace of play under 4 ½ hours. From an organizer perspective, the perfect course for our small/mid-sized group. Everything well positioned so all your players are close, high quality short game/range, 1st and 10th tees near paralleled for split tee start if need be, cart staging area easily find-able for players and close-by, exceptional practice putting near first tee/range, clubhouse can accommodate 72 players comfortably inside and 36 on the patio (love on the patio looks directly onto the 18 green). Bar/Grill conveniently positioned in clubhouse with reasonable prices. Golf course staff very organized, helpful from the minute you start planning the outing until it’s totally complete. It’s our second outing here in months not just because it an incredible golf course but also because of the people running Goose Creek are fantastic. I’d plan another GK Plays outing here in a minute. Thank you again to everyone that came and to Goose Creek for hosting!

With Keith, Josh and Craig we had plenty of fun.
and our 4 hour round left plenty of sun.

While the grass was dormant and brown, I'm insistent
the coverage was great, complete, and consistent.

No lies were sandy, clumpy or bare
A layout that's fun, a challenge, and fair.

With room to mis-hit (I did that a bit)
Visual variety and mid-level anxiety

Played in the first group of the GK outing on Sunday 11/22. Thanks to Allan, George, and Jeff for an enjoyable round. Weather was perfect and course conditions were very good everywhere, as is usually the case at the Goose. Greens were a little too firm for my skill set and I managed to chip across and over the green a couple times, and the greens rolled at a pretty scary medium-fast+ speed. We played the front side pretty quickly then butted up against a slower foursome on #10 and the back nine slowed down, so overall pace was just over 4 hours. Saw the cart girl several times. Thanks to Johnny for another great outing.

Played 11-22-15 with the GK plays. Had been there not long ago and was surprised at the dead spots both on some greens and a few fairways. Not this time. Back to the usual perfect conditions with the only negative being the bunkers. I was not in one all day but some of my playing partners were and I saw a few fluffy soft traps and some wet hard packed. I still think 18 should be a par 5. Tough finishing hole!
