GK Plays event today was a good one, especially for that price - a steal for $32. Course conditions were quite good. No real major complaints to speak of, outside of maybe never seeing the cart girl except the one time when her cart was broken down on the 6th hole, and no proper water stations on a very hot day. And also, if the turn isn't until the 12th hole, and there's really no convenient direct path to the clubhouse en route to hole 13, bite the bullet and keep that food stand off the green on 12 open. I honestly think some refueling there would have delivered a much better 'back 6.' But enough about that, let's get to the good stuff. Playing the blue tees, fairways look great - not a single bad lie all day, outside of my own mistakes into the rough. And that rough was pretty rough at times, but I found the first cut off the fairways very agreeable and had many good lies right on top. Tee boxes were okay, nothing to write home about. I was in two traps and they were both playable with no issues. Greens? Not too bad, really. Wouldn't say fast, but not slow either - maybe 8-8.5? A few bumps here and there, ball marks too, but I never really had any complaints about them. Play a few, adjust. That's it. POP was not ideal, coming in at just over 5 hours. We were a bit slow ourselves early, but caught and stuck with the group in front of us from the 7th hole on. So it was just a slow moving day. Despite playing much worse on the 'back 6,' I enjoyed its variations much more than the front 12. Two standout holes for me - 12 and 16. After a fairly pedestrian and straightforward first 11 holes, #12 is a cool dogleg right with important club selection, and a wild elevated green that was in really nice shape. And 16 is just a beast of a par 3 - elevated tee, just shy of 200 yards, a 10ft sliver between two wide bunkers and water left of the left trap. Bananas. Pretty nice closing hole, too. Fun. Thanks to Jesse, Willie and Steve for putting up with my mid-round tantrum. And thanks to Johnny for setting the whole gig up and getting a bunch of golf nutjobs together to do their thing.

Most of the course was in great condition today. Played the GK Plays event here and it was fun as always. The fairway was in prime shape. No major issues with divots and it was pretty green.

Green speed was consistent for us with the exception of a couple of greens that had some bare spots in play. 15 for instance had some of these bare spots that got in the way.

POP was a slow 5 hours. There was a random twosome that got in between the first and second group on 13. We don't know where they came from, but assume that they just wanted a little more golf in after playing 18.

The cart girl found us a few times throughout the round, but i didn't understand the decision to close the snack bar at 11 with more than 10 groups behind us.

Played Saturday, 10/17 in a 8:00 shotgun corporate outing. I was the organizer of the tournament which we do every 6 months at varying locations. Need to give a shout out to Steph McNulty & Art Guevera who were really easy to work with and made the event a success. I commend them for giving me a break when we had a no-show, putting us below the minimum for a shotgun, but they let us go and didn't charge me for the no-show. We'll definitely be coming back.

This was my first time at GR and the course isn't the most difficult in the world, which worked well for our group as we have a number of guys who shoot in the high 90's and low 100s. Somebody told me they combined 2 courses into one, and you can tell there's a serious difference between the front and back nines. The front is flat, straight in front of you and your typical "parkland" course. The back is a mountain course, with elevated tees, perched greens, and a more of a "target" course. Routing here is efficient and despite a shotgun start, we still played in just over 4 hours.

The conditions are better than I expected. Other than the first green, which was recently top dressed and looks like it's in trouble, the rest of the greens were consistent. Not great, but for the price, they were better than expected. The greens are incredibly soft, not sure if that's from the recent rains the IE got, but they held everything. Fairways were in good condition, not many divots and not too soft. The rough was ok, not great, but manageable. The downside to the rough is the leaves everywhere make it difficult to find your ball and slows down the round (don't know what a course can do about that). My only real compliant on the conditions are the tee boxes. Had a hard time finding level ground on most tee boxes and the grass wasn't cut short enough so it was a little tricky. That was probably the only part of the course that felt "cheap."

Other facilities at Green River were average. The driving range was mats only (which sucks). Carts are OK, but they don't have GPS so bring a range finder. Clubhouse was in good condition, the "19th Hole" has a large covered outdoor patio area which was great for our group. I didn't have any food, but the others in the group seemed satisfied.

Overall Green River is an average course that is a really good value. They probably get a ton of play so maybe we were lucky with the POP, but I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

Played Fri Oct 16th at 738 overcast and heavy air. Customer service at check in was good. Played the blues and the course had them real close to the markers. Was told by the starter that the 1st green was sandy but the rest were not. 1st green was like putting in the trap, but from then on all the other greens were real good. Rolled a little slow as I putted terrible (36) and could not adjust. Tee boxes were real level, fairways green and nice. Ruff was a little long but playable had some problems finding the ball at times, but my partner had great eyes. Pop was so so as there was a 4 some in front of us that we waited on every shot. We were watching this guy putt and take 30 to 45 seconds once he got over the ball at address. The sad part was he only beat me by 2 strokes. We saw the marshall on 9 and 10, and he didn't say anything and he was too far away for us to get his attention. Since the blue boxes were real close to the plates, the course played long, everything I was hitting was coming up short and just thought I was having a tough day. Wasn't until after the 18th hole that I put 2 and 2 together and realized the heavy overcast air was really affecting the distance the ball was going. The temps should be down this week so I think the course will stay real lush. Playing this course in the afternoon will be completely different than in the morning especially the last 6 holes as we should get wind.

was off work early and hadn't been out in a while so decided to just drop in on my way home at around 1pm in the heat. course was open, played by myself through hole 12, one threesome let me through on the front. it got super backed up after that but still finished in under 4hrs. course was in better condition than I remember the last time I played which was a long time ago. teeboxes were generally level and in good condition, and fairways were actually lush given our drought. greens were soft and receptive. I was only in one bunker and it was pretty hardpan though, had to play it like a tight lie. no cart girl just one snack stand at 12. dont' miss the fairway otherwise you're left hunting for your ball through the leaves forever and rough was tough to hit out of. I felt like I got my $25 worth.

Haven't been on here for awhile so wanted to give a review at green river in corona. First off, playing in the afternoon vs early morning, it's two different courses. In the afternoon, the winds are howling. You may save on green fees but trust me... It's a whole different animal playing in the wind. Controlling your ball flight is a must. Real test to your game as the wind amplifies your misses. Lots of chances for scoring if your game is on. The flip side to that is... The big numbers are easy to add up as well. Putting really saved my round today as the greens were rolling fast. Really made it fun and rewarding making a few putts. I would definitely recommend playing here. POP was under 4 and half hours as a five some.

Played today on a Month of May senior special of $29! A deal if it was a dog patch which it was not. Haven't played here in over a year. Was never excited about them combining the two courses to make one...but....that being said we got out a half hour before our scheduled start time. Course exceeded my expectations in the shape it was in. Fairways reasonable, greens a little bumpy but I made a few from outside 10 feet. Enjoyable round.

Played 4/2 at 11:06 as a walk up single using the birdie card ($19 walking!!) They punched two weeks ago and the greens aren't back yet. Still had punch holes visible but the length of the grass was the bigger problem. Very slow today. Fairways and teeing grounds were both solid and better than I have seen in the past. Good coverage in the short stuff with just a few problem areas (not that I saw much fairway today). Rough was just longer-ish fairway and extra patchy. Greenside rough was okay for the most part. Fairway rough needed help. Bunkers were thin and pretty bad. Wind started to have an affect once we hit hole 13. POP was about 4.5 hours. Not the biggest fan of the routing (#16 needs to be launched into the sun) and it is a bit tired in spots, but for the price it's a great deal.
