Why is it I can play Goose Creek, Oak Quarry under 4 hours but Greenriver takes almost 5? It has to be the marshals, he was around all day, told the group in front was slow but did absolutely nothing. We waited on every hole and on the 15th could see no one in front of the group ahead of us. This is the second or 3rd time this has happened at Greenriver so I am going to remove this course from my rotation until they get marshals with some guts and I read that the rounds are only 4 hours long.

Walked on as a single at 1pm and got right out. Course is very green and in good shape. Tees, fairways and rough had good coverage. Greens were firm and smooth with little divot damage. Playing in the afternoon is a challenge when the wind comes up. POP was little over 3.5 hours.

Played this past Sunday with a 1:00pm tee time. They were backed up and we did not tee off until closer to 1:20pm. The course conditions are pretty average for a muni but the layout has some character. Round took forever because of a family foursome in front of us that just had no idea about pace of play and course etiquette. Other than that, a fun round.

Went out this morning and ended up practicing a lot of shots out of the rough, to be clear, the rough was the fairway. I had quite a few lies in the rough that were a lot better than the fairway. Fairways have big clumps of grass in them and your ball gets in them or behind them and it is worse than any rough at the course. Sand is thin in bunkers but the greens were sure nice and smooth and quick.

Course is in nice shape except the greens were slow. They look like they needed to be cut. Nice and green but like a 1" carpet. Rest of the course was nice for winter conditions.

Played Jan 2nd. Had a 7:22 tee time, got out at 9:45 shot gun start due to frost, frost heck it was ice lol. Course was in good shape tee boxes, fairways, and greens were fine. Traps needed more sand.... Continue »

Played Jan 2nd. Had a 7:22 tee time, got out at 9:45 shot gun start due to frost, frost heck it was ice lol. Course was in good shape tee boxes, fairways, and greens were fine. Overall the course is in good condition. The greens rolled good and fast. The fairways are good. The rough is mostly good with some patchy areas. The tees are fair to good. The bunkers (according to my playing partner) are good. The course is walkable with a couple of ups and downs. The staff was nice.

Since the last time I was there about 5 greens have some type of fungus maybe? Lots of dead grass on them. Other than that the course is still in good shape. The problem today was they had a shotgun at 8 AM and slowed us down to a 5 hour round. Please, if you are going to have a tournament how about letting us know when we call in for a tee time. I would have said no and gone somewhere else. Normally it takes less than 4 hours to play but today a little over 5. Not a fun time when you have to wait on every shot.

Played Friday 10/31, course was in really good shape as some of the previous reviews mentioned. Only one tee box issue, the temp on #14 and they did not have the blue markers in a spot to really get a level stance. Greens rolled well, was in 2 bunkers and sand was wet but soft and very playable. Fairways were real nice. Due to the heavy air and wetness, did not get much roll out and the balls just seemed to loose distance. POP was 4:09 good. Had a good time and looking forward to returning. PS I forgot my Garmin G6 in the cart, called the course and it was turned in, went back for it, Great staff.
