Enjoyable round at Oak Quarry. All around great conditions except some parts of the fairways and the bunkers aren't great but not as bad as recently reviewed. Got out late at 4 PM and finished at a blazing 2:41 POP. Highly recommend this track.

Played Apr. 29 in 30+MPH winds out of North. It was entertaining (for a while) to hit 200 yard 9 irons, and 100 yard drives. Wind eventually beat us up and it wasn't a very good round. Tees fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The bunkers are the only negative I have for this course, as others have mentioned there is no sand or even dirt in them. They are hazards. I don't know how they can keep sand in them if the wind does blow this hard frequently, but they might soften the lips so you could chip from them. Outstanding customer service, particularly the starter.

I felt I was guessing wrong on speed all day. The rough is different than any muni I have played in SoCal. Grass was very sticky so you needed a firm left wrist to get the proper strike on the ball. The wind was up on some holes and others were unaffected. I like the course and look to come back soon.

First time playing my favorite local (<1 hour) track this year. Tee boxes were lush and in good shape. Could have been cut a bit shorter. Fairways were in great shape as usual. Some felt like carpet. Greens showed no sign of aeration from a few weeks ago, but were a little bumpy for Oak Quarry standard. Bunkers could use a LOT more sand, which is their usual problem. But at least they were consistent through the course and playable for the most part. Weather was perfect and only had light wind. Pace of play was great for a Sunday afternoon at just slightly over 4 hours. Customer service was top notch, and the California Club from the restaurant was fantastic! :)

Played on Saturday, 2/15, with an early morning tee time, with a high school buddy and a matched with a nice couple from Canada. Customer service was fine. I was met in the parking lot and my clubs were waiting on a cart after I checked in. Starter got us out on time. Drink cart was around once on the front and 2 or 3 times on the back, and the snack shack was open between 9 and 10.

I was a little worried about conditions with words like "winter conditions" and "drought" being thrown around other SoCal courses. However, I found Oak Quarry in pretty good shape considering the time of year and the lack of rain. Tee boxes were mostly level, outside of some mounding and divots on Par 3s, and had been moved around to help repair used areas. Fairways were very good, lush and green. There were a handful of GUR areas, almost all outside of the normal hitting area, and those were the only thin/brown/dirt areas. Greens were better than I expected. Recent reviews had them shaggy and slow, however, they appeared to have been cut. They started slow, but sped up as it warmed up. A few had bumpy spots, but most were damage free and consistent. The worst part was the bunkers. All were muddy and basically hardpan. I was in 2 greenside, and didn't leave a foot print or a rake mark.

Overall, a very enjoyable round. We played in less than 4 1/2 hours, and waited on every hole. The marshal was around, but it appeared the slow down was 2 groups ahead of us. I had a 25% off coupon, good for use online or through their smartphone app, which made the cost $63 per person. I found the cost comparable with many SoCal courses for an early weekend tee time. I did find that Oak Quarry adjusts their online/app rates, with the best rates closer to 2 weeks out.

Here they should be called dirt bunkers. Come on, even Paradise Knolls has sand in their bunkers, This is one nice high end course but please, find some sand to put in the bunkers.

Agree with just about everything Sammy said. Tees (black), fairways, rough all green and very lush. Bunkers thin as usual. Greens were disappointing. Slow and shaggy with lots of old ball marks. Several also had some areas of GUR. Weather was perfect today but windy as usual after 10am. POP 4 hr 15min, saw the marshall a couple of times and the beverage cart about 6 times today. Still the best layout in all of So Cal!

One of the best but today (7 AM tee time) was a little disappointing. The fairways lush, rough lush, and the greens were lush, the greens so lush and long that they were running about a 8. Very slow compared to what they usually are. Looked as though they haven't mowed them in a week or so. Not sure why. Will be going back
