I loved this course from the moment we pulled up to the bag drop. Staff was there to get our bags and placed them on the cart for us. When we finished they were there to wipe down our clubs and watched them until we were done with our club awards. After that a cart ride to our truck was also provided.

Great customer service from the curb to the pro shop to the starter and marshall.

The course is has great views as you wander through the quarry.

I enjoyed the challenges of this course (challenging but fair) and plan to make another run at this course as soon as I can.

Every fairway I hit had a nice lie.
Fairway bunkers were a little firm, no greenside bunkers for me.
Rough varied from thick and wet to thin and dry.
Greens were a little bumpy but very playable. We were told they are punching the greens soon.

Overall loved this course! Wish it was a little closer to home I would play it often.

I would generally concur with previous recent reviews. However, I would add/emphasize the following:
1. The fairways are a bit drier than usual but still mainly lush with good lies 2. Rough is juicy and healthy! 3. Tees are well covered with grass but shaggy and need a trim 4. sand is typical for here - not the greatest but quite playable around the greens while firm and a bit rockier in the fairway traps.

The greens, as was already noted, are slowish and perhaps not as true as you might like. Also, about 1/3 of the surfaces had hex plug repairs that were in play and relatively extensive in one or two cases. 14 green (signature hole) also looked kind of ragged and bare throughout. Not sure if they plan aeration but they might need some maintenance soon.

Final point is off topic and I harp on about this every time, but I think this is a stellar track with a great variety of holes and terrific shot values throughout. However, the finish is weak! I think they should build a new cart path from 15 green to 18 tee around the base of that quarried hill and play 18 as 16 - then do 17 as it currently stands - then back on the same new path to 16 tee and play it as the 18th instead. It makes for a much better and more appropriate closing hole. Just my 2 cents.

Played Saturday in our LA Golf Group League. We were a total of 15 players and treated great by the staff in making the tee times and getting us all out on time. There were a couple of other large groups in front of us and were told it may be a bit slow up front. Pace and conditions were just as other have already stated. Good but nothing note worthy, its been better in the past. The thing that stuck out was how much fun this layout is, no 2 holes similar and all present different challenges. One of my favorites and I cant wait to play again next year. We will be back..

I played on Saturday with the LA Golf Group league; many thanks to Tony Barrett and Greg Palatto for setting up and running these outings. The course was in good condition on Saturday; maybe a little busy with three tournaments running, but it went fairly smooth after a slow first five holes. POP was about 4 1/2 hours. Greens were somewhat soft and medium slow. The afternoon round showed a lot of footprints/spike marks and many unrepaired ball marks. What can you do, except fix as many as possible? It was the course owner's tournament right in front of us, btw. Fairways and rough were lush; maybe a little too lush where there was some deep bermuda rough (namely, the slope on the left side of #1 fairway and behind 12 green). Mostly though, the rough is fescue and not too penal. I noticed some areas in the fairways, such as the landing area of 17, that needed divot mix due to the many large unfilled divots. Tees were level and not too chewed up. Good time overall on this great track. One of my favorites in So. Cal.

Played here this afternoon with the LA Golf Group. Thanks as always to tonybarrett and Paisano for organizing this league! Beautiful afternoon at Oak Quarry. $60 twilight rate is a solid deal for this great course. Very busy out there, but we still enjoyed about a 4.5 hour pace.

The course was in good overall shape. I wouldn't quite say "great" this time, but still quite good. The fairways were nice overall with only a few scattered thin spots. The rough was a bit spotty the more you stray off the fairway, but primary cut mostly lush. The greens were good. As the last reviewer noted, rolling a tad slower than normal, but at the same time seeming a bit softer/more receptive compared to my own previous experiences, so there's the trade-off I guess. The greens definitely worsened the later we got in the day as more spike marks and unrepaired ball marks chewed them up. And unfortunately, the signature 14th hole's green was in the worst shape of them all. It's looking very thin right now and had a minor topcoat of sand applied as they're working to bring it back to normal. I wasn't in any greenside bunkers, so I won't comment on those, but the couple of fairway bunkers I found were good enough.

I always look forward to any excuse to play Oak Quarry. It's one of SoCal's most distinctive, fun and beautiful courses. It's worth a splurge every so often and definitely a must-play if you've never been out there!

I came back for the second time...the first time was December of 1998 so it's been a while. Played this morning 9/13.. The only hole I remembered was the Signature Par 3. This may become my favorite course, played with 3 guys I didn't know and actually were not very good golfers but had a great time. The course is in pristine condition, except for some of the greens which resembled the moon with so many ball marks on them. The fairways are great the ball sits up nice, the tees are in great shape. I played the Blues and found that I was lucky to have a person in the 4 some that know the course well.

The track is very challenging and you have to bump it out there to have mid iron in to some very well trapped greens having a lot of undulation. My only complaint is that the speed would vary from green to green. Although some of that could be my fault. If I could have putted today I would have been dangerous.

The course is spectacular and the staff is very attentive and friendly. Like I said this course could become my favorite next to Oak Valley, but it's a long drive from Palmtucky.

Everything about the course was A+ except the sand. It had rained extremely hard for a long period of time over the weekend so the sand was wet and hard to hit out of around the greens. If you have played here you would understand how this is an issue... lots of sand. POP was just under 4 hours which is not bad for a holiday. I know the course seems expensive 75-100 but you can find good deals on www.golfnow.com. I paid $47 for a 12pm round. Perfect for a broke college student like myself to play such a nice course

Played Sunday 9/1, 11am tee time, course empty, finished in a leisurely 3:45 as a 2 some. Hot and humid day. Brought a friend who hadn't played before, and he was very impressed. Course in it's usual shape... good and fun. Greens seemed inconsistent in speed. Seemed the last 12 holes were slower than the first 6. Bunkers, as usual, the main complaints. They moved the tees today up and back throughout the course... gave the course a different feel. Overall had a great day.
