not sure what else to say about this course, one of my favorites. conditions are always great, fairways like carpet, rough up and is penal if you miss the fairway. greens are a bit bumpy and slow but not bad at all. bunkers had sand and were in good condition. only thing was that someone usually comes to get my bag from the parking lot, which didn't happen today. and i think the starter was on break or something, because there wasn't one when our group came up to the tee. played in the afternoon, it was warm today, zipped through 9 in 1 hr 15 min after playing through some blue hairs but it slowed down on the back, was still out of there in 3:15. great POP today which is not always the case. always a beautiful and challenging course that i enjoy, too bad it's all the way in riverside. but i guess that's what keeps the price in line. if this were in OC it'd probably run $125-$150.

From time to time, people ask me why I don't golf much in LA or OC and head out to the Inland Empire, and this course is the perfect example. Sure, it was a bit over 100 degrees and an extra two hours of driving overall when we played there yesterday, but it was a 3.5 hour round from our start time of 2:30 and $39 a player with our birdie savings card (they also had a lot of times on GolfNow from $45 to $40).

When we got there, a really helpful attendant picked us up in a cart to take us to the pro shop, not out of the ordinary for a nice course, but for the money, it's a big deal. Andrew in the pro shop was very helpful and nice, giving us detailed descriptions of the current conditions of the course. The greens had been running slow because they were heavily watered earlier in the day, but by the time we got out there, they had dried out pretty well and were rolling progressively quicker and firm. The tee boxes and fairways are among their best assets, very lush and cut properly. I played from the tips, which at just over 7,000 yards is not a daunting task whatsoever, especially as it plays a bit shorter, other than a few burly par 3s and long par 4s. If you haven't been here before, utilize the gps as much as possible, especially from the tee. Shot placement is key, and driver may not be necessary for you on a lot of holes.

On the other hand, my partner found a few fairway bunkers that were full of rocks and boulders, or were muddy. He just switched to a soft forged iron, so I recommended that he take relief for the sake of his clubs. I found a couple of greenside bunkers that were in good shape, a little on the compact side, but very playable.

They had coolers of cold water every few holes, which is key if you're out there on a hot day, make sure you bring a water bottle to fill up!

played here saturday 6/22 morning. one of my favorite courses. had a perfect situation where fast group in front of us and slow group behind us, took us little over 4 hours. The course is in good shape. tee boxes were generally decent but there were some uneven spots. fairway was like hitting off of a carpet. greens looked nice but deceivingly slow. everytime i play here, i always get the same positive feeling. nice condition, nice setting, not too easy but not too hard.

Played the Quarry this AM. Perfect course to try out my new R1. Tee'd off around 7:14 with my partner and a single. Twosome in front and nobody behind us. Course in GREAT shape. Ball sits up on all the Fairways. Maintenance told us the greens were slow as they hadn't mowed them which gave us a good heads up. They held decent. The only drawback to this course is that the sand traps are terrible! and there are a lot of them! Many stones and just overall hard...so...stay out of the sand! This is agreat course..fantastic layout and great staff...play it when you can!

I haven't played here in many years, as I moved away from so cal... and the saying: 'you don't know what you have until it's gone' definitely applies.. what a gorgeous course. the views are truly breathtaking.. course is tough but fair.. the par 3's are tough.. you have a variety of clubs off the tee.... overall the course is in great shape.. I thought the greens were slow.. a slow 10 on the stimp.. looks like they were verticut recently and are still healing from that, but they did roll true. some of the tee boxes were beat up, but the rest of the course was great. the bunkers were always the weak point, and the few I was in seemed fine. I don't know if I will ever make it out again due to circumstances, but I envy those that call this course 'home.'

Went off as a foursome at 2:00 today and POP was about 4:15. I think we only waited on 2-3 holes. I had heard a lot about this place and I haven't quite collected all thoughts on it yet. I probably need to play it again. We played from the tips and I only hit three drivers. That was strange. I can get it out there but I'm not a bomber. 3 wood was long enough and in play all day. The look of this place seems like it's really tight but there's actually quite a bit of room off the tee. It's really a second shot golf course. The wind was up for most of the day so the holes into the wind were daunting. You'll really need to be able to hit stingers and long iron punches here if it's blowing hard. On the holes with the wind the ball goes forever. I almost made hole in one on #10 with a 5 iron (231yd) and I usually hit 5 about 190. Wind was pretty nuts. Tee boxes were lush although slightly long. Fairways and greens were immaculate. Greens had a few ball-marks but I fixed most of them. Speeds were probably about 10 but not lightning- very puttable. I think my favorite thing about the place was the par 5's. Every one was reachable with a good tee shot but they get tighter toward the green. You have to think your way through them. The Par 3's are wild. From the tips three out of four are 220+. If you play this course, PLEASE play the appropriate tee box or you'll be hitting provisionals all day. Final note is that it's gorgeous. Great views and the staff was very nice.

Oak Quarry - one of my very favorite tracks ! While the conditioning was not as good as the past few times I have played here, still OK. Staff was perfect. Difficult to say anything negative about this place, its just a wonderful course. The only complaint I would have is that it's not walkable, otherwise it would be perfect. (Well closer to home and cheaper would make it better too!)

Played today in a foursome teeing off at 9:40. Paid $78 per person. We began on time. We played from the blue tees and got around in 4 hours. We got behind a slow group on 10, they must have been confused on the holes because we saw them on the range and they teed off after us, but they let us play through on 11. This was my first time playing the course, which was a factor of distance, cost and reviews of slow greens. I loved the course. Great layout in which some prior knowledge would have been nice because many of the holes are intimidating from the tee.

The tees were generally flat. The fairways and rough were lush. The sand traps were okay - one or two could have used some more sand. Best of all, the greens were nice. The starter said they were about 10 stimp but I don't think they were that fast. They were not slow though and I found them to roll true although difficult to read. There were quite a few unrepaired ball marks but there were no bare spots on the greens that I saw. It was 104 degrees by the time we finished (according to the car temp reading) but there was water every four holes, there was a half-way house and we saw the cart lady 2-3 times. We had a great time. Mother's Day traffic coming home was brutal but it was worth it.
