Played Monday 4/22 as a single. Teed off at 7am and got matched up with 2 great guys. Finished under 3.5 hours and did a replay that took just over 4h. Pace was good as expected for a weekday. The tee boxes were perfect. Fairways were good but did have some areas that needed work, especially in areas close to the cart path. The greens were inconsistent between the front and back 9. On the front, there was still minor signs of recent aeration and the greens were bumpy in spots. On the back 9, the greens were much smoother and rolled faster. The bunkers are now once again hard and compacted. They were nice and fluffy about a month ago. My favorite course within an hour drive from home. Will be back.

Played Sat 20-Apr-13 at 0804...well, that was my tee time. We got off 20 min late and waited on every shot until 11. Home of the 5-hour round-even with an early start. The course is in very good condition-especially the greens. Smooth and FAST. The only complaint was the signature hole was largely Ground Under Repair.

There was a drop zone well back in the fairway behind the GUP. I hit my tee shot into the front greenside bunker-all in the GUP. I took my drop at the nearest point of relief away from the flag rather than go all the way back to the drop zone. There was some disagreement in our group-but I sculled it anyway and took a double. The wind came up a bit, but remained reasonable around 15MPH. I recommend OQ highly if you don't mind a slower POP...

Played today at 1250 for 64 on golf now. This is the third time I have played this course and it seems to get better and better every time I play here. The fairways and rough where perfect and lush no bare spots within 10-15 feet of the fairways. The greens where soft but lightning fast as usual. The only down side of the day was a few greens where a little bit bumpy, time to change pin locations or roll the greens. Overall I can not complain I will definitely play again once I can afford it #poorcollegekid

Let's make this short and sweet. I couldn't find a single thing this wrong with this place, so... Go play it! Tees, fairways, rough, greens and bunkers were all just about perfect. Customer service was also immaculate.

Was able to book a tee time (single) and played early, Mon. 4/1. 55+ rate of $55. Blue tees. Nice grass range and chipping area up by the starter to warm up and meet the two guys I'd be playing with (nice guys but clueless, more on that later). Got around in 4hrs but it should have been 3.

Course conditions are, as previously reviews report, lush and green. Fairways near flawless but watch the rough, some areas are 3+ inchs deep. Was in one greenside bunker, damp but good sand, easy to play from. Fairway bunker I visited was firmer, but thats a good thing when you need to pick it clean with a mid-iron. Greens, as Weeman mentioned, still just a bit grainy but rolled semi-fast. My playing partners regularly 3 and 4 (or 5) putted them, as well as losing a ball every hole between the two of them. Marshal came around early, real nice guy, and wondered why BOTH of them were 50 yrds out in front of their cart. When they did hit a green, I repaired their ball mark, but they did rake the bunkers. Hard to concentrate playing with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, but it happens.

Recommended. This is always a challenging course that has multi-tiered greens and some holes that offer risk reward, don't always need driver, and the par 3's are on the longer side. One of my IE favorites.

I would agree that the course is very green and in good shape, but the greens are quite bumpy and not quite back from aeration. A trace of the punch-holes remain and while they have good, medium fast pace, they are not running true. 3 putts hit from the same spot on the same line will all end up in different spots (from an on-course trial!).

I would also dissent (in the other way) about the sand traps - normally they are thin here but I was in 4 in both fairway and greenside capacities and they were all good with fluffy, fresh sand. Parts of them were crusty in areas from sprinkler patterns but they were one of the many good parts - not so much the greens - contrary to previous reports. Another week or two and course should be stellar as the fairways, tees and rough are all lush and healthy, especially the latter which is very juicy in spots - so much so that if your ball nestles down in it you could easily lose it!

Played Tuesday, 3/26 with GK'ers sbogey, cpennbo, and their friend Cliff. 9am tee time but the marine layer rolled in and delayed tee times about a half hour. Starter did a great job getting everyone out and we finished around 4 1/2 hours. Good practice areas.

Conditions were outstanding. Tee boxes level and placedin damage free areas. Fairways were lush with very little brown areas. Rough was up around 3" and sometimes more in areas. Greens have healed nicely, but have some sand. However, they ran fast and with little amount of ball marks. Bunkers were the bad part. Wet and heavy, easier just to hit the ball like a chip or pitch.

Customer service was first rate. Met at the car and bags were loaded on the cart by the time check in was done. Driven out afterwards with cleaned clubs. Starter was superb handling the delay. I like that he didn't send the next group up until the earlier was off. Incredible course for $52 weekday morning, using their online tee time app. $10 off 1st time you use it. Definitely a must play.

Very Late Review (MARCH 1st 2013) But still relevant, after all it's OAK QUARRY!!!

I was invited by Dale (StuartKay) very last minute (10pm night before), Dale had an open spot for ONE to join his threesome. Even though I was physically tired from looping & lower hip pain, once I heard it was OAK QUARRY I dropped everything to be there the next day.

LOVE this layout,for the $cenery, challenge, customer service.
Pace of play always seems to be an issue here, we had a Three ball directly in front of us, a Four ball in front of them etc...

Hours: over 5 1/2 hour round, with the setting sun completely hidden behind natural terrain, temps dropped, course getting darker to finish, never saw a marshal after the front 9 holes....

Tees: Since I basically only had played JUST TWO rounds prior, played the appropriate tee box (WHITE) for my game, Dale joined me there meanwhile one of the other players tee'd off from the Blue (Championship).

Greens: We played our round just before the greens were slated to be aerated & sanded, pace was slower than I had seen them in the past. PLENTY of un-repaired ball marks (LAZY PLAYERS). I think between the four of us, we fixed 12-20 per hole!

LAYOUT: The golf shot of the day? Not from me but from Dale....Want to take a guess which hole? OK, the $IGNATURE GOLF HOLE CALLED "SPINEL SLIDE".
Par 3: 185 yards on this round, approach shot landed on the front portion of the green rolled up the slope just stopped about 4 feet below the hole with the flagstick located just past the center portion of the green! Sweet Golf shot on the $ignature golf hole.

Fairways/Rough: are consistent with the current reviewers!

Cust Service: For those who need to know the CART/Beverage Girl was so busy, she only came by once that I recall. If you need your clubs loaded, they'll be picked up in the parking lot when you arrive then placed on a travel cart to be loaded onto the carts.

The ONLY Negative for me personally very nearly happened RIGHT before the start of my round! I have a custom made driver, it's length is 48", graphite shaft, process PURED by Golf$mith which matches my slow controllable swing. It's in my primary bag for a rea$on and I'm not looking to REPLACE it anytime soon! I like to carry my own bag for many different reasons.

I decided to wait for my playing partners near the pro shop, this way I wouldn't miss them when they checked in as a group. Once Dale arrived, our bags were being loaded on the carts....What happened next NEARLY ruined my round @ OAK QUARRY. Instead of just lifting up my bag onto the cart, the cart attendant was in such a hurry, NOT PAYING attention, talking to other workers, swung (not lifted) my bag ONTO the cart! If I wasn't standing right next to the cart to GRAB my bag, he would have SNAPPED my driver just below the head AGAINST the METAL framed basket attached to the cart! I would have been forced to use my 3 wood all day vs the custom driver...

We'll always be back!!!

P.S. Just days before our round, a LPGA Pro carded a HOLE-In-ONE! She posted a picture of it on twittle$$.

Played Tues 3/26 with a couple of GKers and a friend. The course is in fantastic shape. The greens were cut a few weeks ago and sanded recently. They were fast in the morning but slowed as they dried out. Because of cutting/sanding they didn't break as true as usual. The forward tee boxes were immaculate and some of the most levels tees I've played this year. THAT was much appreciated! The fairways were lush and I never saw a brown area or any real iron damage. The rough was just deep enough- between 4-6inches and very lush. The sand was the only disappointment today. Wet and hardpacked. But hit it like a chip shot and you'll be fine. The cart girl came around multiple times and the snack shack at the turn was open. Pace of play was good- 4 1/2 hrs. We were a little jammed up on the front 9 due to a fog delay, but only once did the group behind get close enough to grump at us a little- when we explained we were moving at pace they backed off. We WERE moving pretty quickly but this IS a challenging course and takes a little more time then an up and back course! :-) Carts here have GPS which is really nice considering some of the winding holes and hazards. The course is quite scenic and leaves you wanting more! Customer service is always perfect- from picking you up in the parking lot to seeing to your needs elsewhere. Definitely a must play course.
