The greens were aerated a couple of weeks ago and have filled in nicely. The greens played slower than usual and need to be rolled but play on them was still good. The rest of the course is in great shape. I got there early enough to have breakfast in the club house that too was good. The course staff were friendly and professional.

Still one of my favorite courses. Played 3/2 and brought 2 friends who played it for the first time. They were absolutely blown away and swore to be back soon. Service was top notch from parking lot pickup to the club cleaning and ride to your car after the round. I'm SO glad they've kept up the level of service over the years. Nothing else around here offers experience even close to it. The course was in great shape. Tee boxes were flat and undamaged. The fairways were LUSH with no brown or thin areas. It was almost like waking on carpet. The greens were slightly disappointing compared to the rest of the course. They were a bit inconsistent. The first few greens were on the slow side and had some bumps, but the rest were smooth and quicker. The most surprising part of the course were the bunkers. This course is usually plagued by thin bunkers with not much sand (my experience anyways). However, there were a ton of fluffy sand on Saturday! My buddy chunked a bunker shot, the ball flew 2 feet in the air and actually came down and created a fried egg. That was how fluffy they were. I played here and Sierra Lakes this weekend. I would say Oak Quarry is in better shape between the 2.

Played on 2/24. I promised I would play this course again after the first time ( which I wasn't overly impressed.) I have to say I am glad I did. Staff was great from. As soon as I drove up to the starter I could tell I was in for a whole different experience. We were politely introduced to our 4th. The range was still a little beaten up but I was there just to warm up so it suited me fine. Before I talk about the course Sunday had a 25-35 mph wind. We decided just to have fun no match or games. as an example I hit 185 yd drivers into the wind and 360 yard drivers downhill down wind. Now for the course, I loved it. conditions were great smooth greens, nice tight fairway. If I were to knock it other than the range I would say the sand had to be a little more consistent,but I usually feel I am not supposed to be there anyway so I give it a pass. Played our round in 4:15 and it was wonderful. If you get a chance this course should be played and I highly recommend it.

Today was my first time playing Oak Quarry, I'll start off by saying, this is a must play. Midweek rates are more than fair and replay was $25 ( If you haven't realized yet, I played 36). From the minute I pulled in to the parking lot ,1st class service. Was picked up in parking lot and and taken to the clubhouse. I walked on with no tee time (as a single), they were very accomadating and told me they would get me out asap. With enough time to warm up and hit a few balls Ed, the starter, then called me over as soon as I was done and paired me up with a threesome. FYI, Ed the starter, very nice guy and was a pleasure to be around.....wish all starters were modeled after him.
The course was in great shape.....alot of very tempting tee shots to get up and down for birdie attempts, but, beware...tempting is the key word. Play it safe and you"ll score good, take the risk route, hit it good and be rewarded, or fall short and be punished. ( I learned the hard way on my 1st round). Tee boxes were in good shape. Faiways were in good shape(even though i only hit 5 fir in my 1st round). Now, greens, rolled true.....only downfall, there were alot of unfixed ballmarks....I did my best to fix mine and a couple others, but it didnt seem like it was enough....jeez if this was my home course Id get on everyone about that...unfortunately it did effect a few putts for me, but, o well.
If you havent played this course, iI suggest you give it a run. Well worth the time and $$.

Played 2/16 at 12:30. Course was very lush. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough were very nice. Sand traps were pretty good. Greens were bad. Patchy looking, long, unfixed ball marks, and bummmmmpyy. Unfortunate because the rest of the course was in fantastic shape. Pace of play was not good, around 5 hours, and only that fast thanks to a marshall stepping in at hole 14. Fun to play once in a while because of the views and layout, but POP is hard to deal with and its a little pricey.

Played Oak Quarry today. With all the rain we had down in the OC and Riverside it concerned me with what I would find today. Arrived to medium to heavy rain at 9a.m. so we sat in the club house for an hour and waited for it to ease up. It finally did and made it off the first tee by 10:30. Weather cleared up by the second hole and we enjoyed sunny skies for the rest of the round which totaled 3:45 min.

Now for the good, as always customer service was terrific, the greens were good, but not great and were inconsistent holding shots, this was not due to the rain but to condition of greens being hard and soft. The fairways appear not to be over seeded and were very thin with several difficult lies, even though they were not in a dormant stage. The rough of what there was is virtually a non factor, maybe 1-2 inches and spotty at best. The bunkers are in bad shape, with several containing large rocks and were very thin, maybe a quarter inch of sand under the ball, this held true from fairway to Green side.
Tee boxes were level with very few divots and maintained very well with a few having been sanded. Much of the normal water from the lakes on this course is now gone, leaving large areas of lateral hazards that can be played out from now that they are dry, ( CHECK CLUB FOR THIS IF YOU PLAY) but right now they allow you to play with no penalty.
I have played this course several times and find the course to be a good test of your golf skills, and although I was disappointed with the course on this occasion it will not deter me from coming back to play after the winter season has ended.

Played the Quarry the 19th. The staff, service, and food were excellent as usual. That is the end of the good news.

Three weeks ago OQ was in pristine condition. The fairways now are dried out and the winds are back. The traps had little or no sand! Maybe the wind gusts took it away. We teed off @ 0830 and finished @ 1330...POP was 5 hrs.

Hoping conditions return to what they were during/after the rains...check for wind before you head out! This is normally an outstanding track without the wind...
