Played Oak Quarry with some great GK guys (12/11) from the blue tees. This was my first experience on this golf course. Oak Quarry is truly one of the most scenic courses I have ever played in California and I have played a bunch. I loved this course. To start with the conditions were very good. Perfect lies in the fairways with plenty of grass underneath the ball and very lush. We had some light rain the night before and mist this morning so the fringes and fairways were playing a little damp. The greens were in great shape with no pitch or ball marks. They were holding irons well and putting true. The greens here do have some undulation but are very fair. The tees were level and had some nice grass. I was not in any bunkers but they looked hard packed with wet sand and our playing partners described them as decent. The carts have GPS which is a nice thing to have on a course like this. The elevation changes were just breathtaking. I had to hit another ball on #4(favorite hole) for fun with my driver and was green high after bouncing it off a rock just right of the green(lol). The first two or so holes give you a chance to score. The par 3's were semi-long and were mostly all elevated playing downhill. Hitting the greens at Oak Quarry is crucial here to score as well as being on the right side of the hole in regulation. I had a horrible putting day but it did not matter because of how fun the layout was and what great condition the course was in as well as the company. The pro-shop was stocked and had a great lunch menu. the Cartbarn kids were great as well as the staff in the pro-shop. I encourage everyone to come out with their buddies to Oak Quarry for an exceptional experience....I plan to come back for some twilight golf here.

This is truly the best kept secret in Southern Cal because of it's a one-of-a kind spot location... very scenic that may almost take you out of your game. The Gfees are alright and the staff takes good care of you to make your day go well-- they're on top of things. Every hole you will see is different from the other. A tough course but very fair. Mostly wide open though drives and lay ups must not be taken lightly... ok, we can add the approach as well. :-) Definitely a player's course and can I just add to say a very impressive outfit from customer service, food, aowhhh, the course... the course... play it and you'll know if you haven't already.

It rained over night and drizzled for a few holes and the sand traps were packed. I guess one of our buddy's sandy jarred bird from it was alright. The course drained well and the greens held up through the rain and it played just fine... well, I guess a some of the drives did get held back a little from wet fairways, but that's nature.

Great bunch of Greenskeeper.org guys were there and I's lucky to have been invited. The GM's very cool... all his staff were as well. Can't wait to let my regulars visit back to it.

Played with 10 other GK'ers at 9am. Threat of rain only as we had good weather conditions all day. Course was in great shape. I did not see any unrepaired ball marks on any of the greens. Sandtraps were a little hard packed from the rain. Helped the ball sit up. I knocked when in the cup out of the bunker on #3 so I guess they were to my liking.

Excellent customer service as always. GM Hank came by after our round to make sure we had everything we needed. Bev cart around 3 or 4 times. Great day. Thanks JohnnyGK everyone had a great time.

PLAYED ON SATURDAY. COURSE CONDITIONS IS GOOD, GREENS RUN FAST AND SMOOTH. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. ONLY PROBLEM WE HAD IS THE 2 SOME AND THREE SOME IN FRONT OF US. THEY WERE REALLY BAD, MAKING THE ROUND EXTRA LONG. NO COMMON COURTESY OF LETTING OUR THREESOME PASS THEM. DIDNT KNOW ANY GOLF ETTIQUETTES

Been awhile since last play,, windy,, very windy today,, but,, this place is in terrific condition. Greens are a little slow, but in great shape. Staff was very nice,, no crowd, had the place all to ourselves. Cart path only for a few more days,, it is a workout here. We will be back. Seems to us with NO Business they might consider a senior rate during the week..

The course is so very well kept, and the servise is allways first rate, it's a wonder this place is not packed with players, we played in under 4 hours. Fun course, you must think your way around, bunkers everywhere off the tee. The views are really something, you say to yourself, "wow that looks like fun." And do you know what? It Is.

We played on 10/4/09. Course was pretty empty. Decided to have lunch in the clubhouse. Services was top notch. The soda machine didn't have enough syrup, so the waitress gave us cans of soda with free refills and packed a to go cup for our round. Great service! The food was not bad either. Went out early; starter and staff was great. The course was in great condition. Truly a gem and treat. Fairways were lush, little brown spots. Sand had rocks in them, but overall, pretty good. The greens were lightning fast and tricky. The wind was about 25 MPH, so tough day to score. The problems they had with the greens 2 months ago are long gone. All the greens were in great shape. Pace of play was 4.5 hours. One of my favorites..definitely worth every penny.

Played on Sunday morning 9/27. I hadn't had a chance to play this course in over a year and it has always been in my top 5 socal courses, and todays experience only raised it a little higher in my book. I'm amazed at how they maintain the conditions considering the temps have avged in the triple digits this summer. Play early if possible to take advantage of the cooler temps and still breezes. This morning was perfect for scoring. Service is also above average for a daily fee course. I hope I don't have to wait another year to return to this fun facility.

As alway, Hank and his staff make golfing at Oak Quarry a pleasure...from the guy who comes and takes your clubs to the carts, to the check-in crew behind the counter...to the starter who got us out right on time...and the marshalls who keep the course moving...this is still a "must play" course for anybody in SoCal. The heat is keeping Oak Quarry from being a 9.0 - 9.5 all-around golf course...but all courses along the Highway 15 corridor have been doing battle with the weather all summer long. Greens were O.K. - a little slow and seemingly inconsistent...but maybe that's just because my putting sucked that day! A little over four-hours total...and on a Saturday, too! The club sandwich in the clubhouse is a winner...and pitchers of cold beer make for a great way to spend the day. If you like to golf...you'll love Oak Quarry!
