For anyone that is wondering about this course and wondering why everyone talks about it in such a positive manner. It is becuase - It is an awesome experience at this facility.

The facility is nice - it has great veiws to the golf course as you are waiting for the morning breakfast. The staff greets you from the time they get your clubs to the time they get your food. They are really professional and a delight to be around. Good Job to the staff.

The range is a nice place to practice. Plenty of areas to practice on all areas of your golf game. And the range also has a very nice staff member (the starter) who is full of information that will help you enjoy your round.

The golf course - wow. It speaks for itself. The fairways are plush, the greens are smooth and roll pure. the challenge is fair, and if you play good it will reward you. The views are DISTRACTING - becuase they are so breath taking a times. - The course is just in wonderful shape all of the time. (Rain, Sleet or Snow) this course will always be in good shape.

This was the course I played my first outing, and after playing with a bunch of great guys (friends) it just made the experience even more enjoyable. If you have never played here - this is the place to play.

Teed it up at Oak Quarry Golf Club on Friday 12/11. This was my fifth time playing the course and if I didn’t live over an hour away, I’d certainly play it more often. As with the previous rounds, this one was no different…great golf experience. Our group caught the course in-between major rain showers and it remarkably showed little signs of casual water. Overall the place was green and lush with the greens putting smooth and holding shots. The only negative was the bunkers since they contained thick coarse sand wet from the rain so with the steep faces on most them, getting the ball up and out was a challenge to say the least. But these same bunkers are one of the most enjoyable aspects of the course since the provide visually intimating/stimulating approach and tee shots predominantly dictating how to play each hole. They are a bold statement consistent with the rest of layout that features rock outcroppings, forced carries, elevation changes all carved into an abandoned quarry. Factoring in NOTHING else about the golf experience of Oak Quarry, if playing unique layouts is your thing, you must try this track. Fortunately layout in not the only outstanding aspect of this facility because you will likely find excellent playing conditions, service and food with every visit.

Played Friday 12/11. Considering it rained the night before, the course played really well. The greens putted smoothly and were reasonably quick considering the wet conditions. There was barely ANY casual water except for a few bunkers, much better than I would have expected. The layout has several spectacular holes from both a visual standpoint and a golf challenge standpoint. 175+ yard par 3's with elevated tees and forced carries that have a ravine/water on one or both sides would make tour pros think twice about going for the pin. Accuracy here is a must, as numerous holes have either environmental areas or other places your score can really suffer if your ball strays even a little off the beaten path. Another plus to this layout in my opinion is that there are no homes even visible on most holes, much less right next door. If you are golfing in the Riverside area, I'd give this course a try just because it is so different visually than the average course out there.

I typically want a few hours to consider my opinion regarding a golf course review. As you know I review religiously as should all GKers. Contribute to a site that gives so much. And here goes.

I typically want a few hours to consider my opinion regarding a golf course review. As you know I review religiously as should all GKers. Contribute to a site that gives so much. And here goes.

Was part of new GK pilot program to play courses and review them. This was a special treat. Just have to remember to play this course when the weather is less damp and warmer. But condition-wise, this course is tops. Greens rolled very true and although it rated a 10 on the stimp with the elevation changes it made putting a challenge. I like the greens though because as you know the course could be a desert but if the greens are in tip top shape like these you could honestly say it was a good course. Fairways are green; a little wet but very playable considering the weather we were playing in. Rough was thick and sticky. Sand traps were hard espacially compact with the rains, kinda like cement. Had to figure out how to hit out of there with a more lofted club but once that was remedied it was easy going.

Overall I like this course. Very challenging holes not long but accuracy a definate plus. Would play here again and would recommend this course to any interested in playing out this way.

Played Friday AM in some misty weather on and off, with a little wind at times but very good overall. This course in in great shape. It is always a pleasure to come out here just for the scenery. I know you can score well here as I have many times before, but this time I found out how difficult the course can play if you make the wrong choices! Took five penalty strokes yesterday. Had so much fun though with a great group of guys.
The wet grass was not too much trouble because it was not muddy at all anywhere that I could see. The greens were fantastic and rolled pretty quick. You must play this course a few times to get the most out of it, but every time is a good experience.

The service was great yesterday, saw the beverage cart four times, but where we were, the timing was just off a little bit, at hole three ( just started, too early for drinks) then on 8 just before the snack shack. Actually would like to make a comment, I think the cart girl needs to be aware of what the golfers are doing as she is approaching, she should stop for a sec if someone is about to hit their shot, ( me ) before riding up with, 'you guys ok'? hehe, ok if I were doing better on the course it probably wouldn't have bothered me so much...
So they have a pretty good deal going on here, 5 rounds for 200 bucks good for a year. Pretty, pretty good idea for a present?

Played Oak Quarry with some great GK guys (12/11) from the blue tees. This was my first experience on this golf course. Oak Quarry is truly one of the most scenic courses I have ever played in California and I have played a bunch. I loved this course. To start with the conditions were very good. Perfect lies in the fairways with plenty of grass underneath the ball and very lush. We had some light rain the night before and mist this morning so the fringes and fairways were playing a little damp. The greens were in great shape with no pitch or ball marks. They were holding irons well and putting true. The greens here do have some undulation but are very fair. The tees were level and had some nice grass. I was not in any bunkers but they looked hard packed with wet sand and our playing partners described them as decent. The carts have GPS which is a nice thing to have on a course like this. The elevation changes were just breathtaking. I had to hit another ball on #4(favorite hole) for fun with my driver and was green high after bouncing it off a rock just right of the green(lol). The first two or so holes give you a chance to score. The par 3's were semi-long and were mostly all elevated playing downhill. Hitting the greens at Oak Quarry is crucial here to score as well as being on the right side of the hole in regulation. I had a horrible putting day but it did not matter because of how fun the layout was and what great condition the course was in as well as the company. The pro-shop was stocked and had a great lunch menu. the Cartbarn kids were great as well as the staff in the pro-shop. I encourage everyone to come out with their buddies to Oak Quarry for an exceptional experience....I plan to come back for some twilight golf here.

This is truly the best kept secret in Southern Cal because of it's a one-of-a kind spot location... very scenic that may almost take you out of your game. The Gfees are alright and the staff takes good care of you to make your day go well-- they're on top of things. Every hole you will see is different from the other. A tough course but very fair. Mostly wide open though drives and lay ups must not be taken lightly... ok, we can add the approach as well. :-) Definitely a player's course and can I just add to say a very impressive outfit from customer service, food, aowhhh, the course... the course... play it and you'll know if you haven't already.

It rained over night and drizzled for a few holes and the sand traps were packed. I guess one of our buddy's sandy jarred bird from it was alright. The course drained well and the greens held up through the rain and it played just fine... well, I guess a some of the drives did get held back a little from wet fairways, but that's nature.

Great bunch of Greenskeeper.org guys were there and I's lucky to have been invited. The GM's very cool... all his staff were as well. Can't wait to let my regulars visit back to it.

Played with 10 other GK'ers at 9am. Threat of rain only as we had good weather conditions all day. Course was in great shape. I did not see any unrepaired ball marks on any of the greens. Sandtraps were a little hard packed from the rain. Helped the ball sit up. I knocked when in the cup out of the bunker on #3 so I guess they were to my liking.

Excellent customer service as always. GM Hank came by after our round to make sure we had everything we needed. Bev cart around 3 or 4 times. Great day. Thanks JohnnyGK everyone had a great time.

PLAYED ON SATURDAY. COURSE CONDITIONS IS GOOD, GREENS RUN FAST AND SMOOTH. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. ONLY PROBLEM WE HAD IS THE 2 SOME AND THREE SOME IN FRONT OF US. THEY WERE REALLY BAD, MAKING THE ROUND EXTRA LONG. NO COMMON COURTESY OF LETTING OUR THREESOME PASS THEM. DIDNT KNOW ANY GOLF ETTIQUETTES
