Don't be discouraged to go out there because of the heat. Because of the canyons and elevation, a lot of winds blow through which really cools you down throughout the day.

Don't be discouraged to go out there because of the heat. Because of the canyons and elevation, a lot of winds blow through which really cools you down throughout the day.

Played this past Saturday in recorded 105 degree heat, but it felt more like 85 because of the breeze. Pace was perfect, fairways were great, but the greens were awful. Not sure why everything is so great, but they don't focus on the greens.

I'm sure they will take care of the greens soon and I can't wait because this course is wonderful.

Nice venue, challenging layout and scenic ... good food in the restaurant. Played on a Friday with very few golfers on the course. Greens still a bit long, or 'puffy' as previously mentioned, which makes for some inconsitency ... might take a few strokes off your score. But, otherwise, good course to play when you're out Riverside way.

Played Saturday 6/21/08 on a hot day with only light winds. Agree with weber below - course is one of my favorites and is in good shape, except greens are firm at the base but 'puffy' on the surface, with lots of bumpy areas, and just walking across them leaves a lot of marks and indentations. Also greens were very slow - couldn't believe we left downhill putts short in many cases. It seems like the grass hasn't taken to the base well and is just sitting on top of it. Hope they get this corrected soon. It's been a while since I played OQ, but ownership change hasn't benefitted the venue - nonchalant cart guys, and you have to pay for range balls now. New carts are nice and the GPS system is great. Generally recommended.

Maybe because it was over 100 degrees, which explains the good pace. Always enjoy my experiences here, regardless of how I play, no exception today.

Some of the slowest greens you will ever play - like 5 to 6 on STIMP. The greenskeeper needs to get a handle on the 2 or 3 types of grass growing on the greens. Very windy in the afternoon and tough - some holes play 3 clubs longer into the wind and others are 3 clubs shorter down wind.... One of the best Par 3's in the western states - 205 yards down hill to an almost island green, 300+ feet down all along the left is all water - like a Fantasy Hole - AWESOME! Play it early to avoid the wind and pound your putts.

Great little golf course. Layout is fair, challenging, and most of all interesting. Each hole offers something different and the being built in the old rock quarry makes for a great golf environment. No homes on the course, no traffic noise, just course and sky. Greens are running very slow, though looking at them you would think very fast. I would give this an immaculate rating, but there are only a very few courses that deserve that rating. Green fee is to pricey, though for internet coupon rate of fifty it isn't bad.
