Played the course, three days in a row. The greens were great, any previous note of small holes posted on greenskeeper was incorrect, not a hole to be seen. Greens were fast and breaking toward the casino away from the mountains. Great variety of holes, Stonehouse is a joy to play, just fire away on the tee boxes if you want a resonable 2nd shot, if you lay up off the tee you will have very few chances to score. The greens also hold very well, so fire at the pins. Overall the course was in nice condition, except for the tee boxes, unlevel and too many sand filled divots, filled to excess.

Played the Creek & Oaks on 05-06-07, the course is in great shape, as usual. Found it a bit unusual that their definition of 'southern california' didnt include Mission Viejo in Orange County, so I wasnt eligible for the discount. $90 with a cart per player. All in all it was a great experience as the course was in top shape.

Played this course November 25th very early in the morning. Course was wet and playing from the whites tended to leave me in the rough most of the day. Hitting from this stringy, thin bladed grass while wet was no fun. Suggest longer hitters playing blues to stay in the fairways, greens were nice, well kept as well as bunkers. Has some interesting hole layouts. Overall a nice round would definitely play again with a different approach now knowing course layout and design.

Played Oak and Stonehouse on 10/22. The greens on the Oaks side were punched the previous week and the fairway overseeding was only starting to sprout. Consequently, there were a lot of bare spots on the fairways. The Oaks greens really needed more top dressing as the punchmarks were really deep. Needless to say, this made for some tough putting. The Oaks lay out is unique, there is a mix of shorter par 4, one longer par 3s and some really long par 4s and great par 5s. The fairways on the Stonehouse 9, were in full bloom. The overseeding made it feel like you were playing out of the light rough. So you can imagine what the rough looked like - US Open style rough - really deep. They really need to go ahead and mow it. The greens on Stonehouse were punched 3 weeks ago and they look great. It was tough to adjust to the speed of the greens after coming off of the Oaks greens.

We teed off at 6:40 am. The staff in the morning overlooked the 27% discount that was being extended to JC Resorts members. This was remedied when we completed our round and the management quickly credited the difference and apologized for the inconvenience.

The greens on Creek 9 were punched this week and the greens were overseeded last week. so, you might want to hold off awhile if all you can get out on is the Creek and Oak 9s.

The snack bar at this quality resort is very disappointing. I suppose they are trying to encourage you to dine in the restaurant.

Coincidently exact 1 year ago I stayed & played here.Package of 1 night 2day & 2 golf round or spa masage(my wife's case).Conditions except greens got worse than last year.Especially fairways seems all dormant or burnt are very thin even you encounter many bare ground without grass. Tee boxes majority beated up with divot damages & uneven lies.Greens are strong favor now ,rolling smooth medium-fast speed & holding well. Their cuisine still good to excellent level.You have to deal with strong winds especially in Oaks course.

Thank God for TiVO. While everyone else was getting up before the dawn to watch golf on brown fairways, I got a nice early tee time, finished in less than 4 hours and was home in time to whiz through ... Continue »

Thank God for TiVO. While everyone else was getting up before the dawn to watch golf on brown fairways, I got a nice early tee time, finished in less than 4 hours and was home in time to whiz through the commercials and the blah blah blah and see the finish with most of the afternoon left to go to the pool.
