Played an early morning Sunday round Creek/Stone in four hours behind the Speed Golfers. Not a fan of running between holes but they were. The staff and carts are top level. Tee boxes were all in pretty fair shape with a few being a little shaggy. It was nice to see that someone had picked up all of the broken tees which usually litter the tee boxes. The rough is Out of control again with many groups searching for their balls on every hole. The grass clippings on top of the long, thick and wet rough was painful for everyone. It affected the pace of play negatively and was frustrating if you were in it. The fairways had total coverage but a few holes were beyond damp with muddy sections which should have been GUR. You could not walk across those places or play your ball from them. Not sure what was going on with all the water. We found a sprinkler running on the back of the first hole on the Stone nine that was really doing damage? There were a few holes that had obvious irrigation/drainage work in progress with trenches cut along the cart paths. The traps were damp and had not been raked in at least a day or two? I even found a couple greenside traps that had no rakes in them. The greens were in nice shape but a little slower than usual and some had lots of ball marks. The course and facility are always busy which is great to see.

Played an early morning Sunday round on the Creek/Stonehouse nines in about 4.5 hours. The place was extremely busy with the Futures Tour in full force. The tee boxes were all beat to death with several being no more than damp sand littered with broken tees. The rough has finally been cut down to near normal length but is still thick in most places. The fairways are in real nice shape with total coverage on these nines. You will find numerous unfilled divots though throughout the course. So simple to just fill them with the divot mix that is provided. The fairways were plush enough to provide a good cushion to hit from. The traps had plenty of damp sand in the few I found along with small pebbles and rocks! The greens have good coverage but many ball marks in need of repair and difficult to guess the speed of each. Some were definitely slower and damper than others which added to your score and frustration. The staff does a really good job with the golfers and the flow of all the moving parts that go along with a busy Sunday.

Played Temecula Creek on Saturday. Course is attached to a hotel. The driving range is a little short if you were a long hitter, I don’t think you could drive more than 260. There are three sets of tee boxes. Course should consider creating a combo between the red and white and blue and the white to allow more options for play. Course is in a nice area; no residential buildings come in to play, but there are a few holes where you can hear the nearby 15 freeway.

Course is in overall good shape but the rough is way too severe for play currently.

As other reviewers have noted, the rough will completely hide a golf ball. When looking for a golf ball in the rough, you’re more likely to find another persons ball who has been lost in the rough. This was encountered even 5 feet off the fairway. Spoke to the person and they stated they got behind on mowing, but should be able to catch up within the next month or so.

To the positives, the fairways here have been particularly thin in my previous plays but today they were a lot more carpet like and much better to play from. The greens were rolling fast and true. They held well struck shots appropriately and allowed and allowed poor shots to run through. Was in a few bunkers, and overall they are not very difficult to escape from, but they are true hazards in the respect that no raking or manicuring was done prior to the day.

Overall pace of play was slow adding up close to five hours. This was due to the time spent looking for lost balls, not just our group but the group in front of us.

I do believe TCI will be able to get back on a mowing schedule now that the rains appear to have settled down. Would like to come back in about a month and hopefully it should be in good shape before it gets too hot in Temecula.

Early morning 4.5 hour round on Sunday Oaks/Creek. We were slowed up making the turn by a fivesome?? Staff is always top notch as are the golf carts. Our cart gps took a couple of holes to get reset to start doing its job. The tee boxes were in good to fair condition with the par 3's a bit beat up and covered with broken tees. The rough had been cut down somewhat but was still tough to find lost balls in. The rough was damp, thick and green. You could actually advance your ball further than you'd think out of the thick stuff if you could find it. Often times you would find others lost balls but not yours! The fairways were in very nice shape with total coverage on every hole and great lies. The traps all have a good amount of sand in them but many were damp and not raked. The greens are in very good shape with only the first on the Oaks nine being slow and shaggy. The greens were holding well and sped up as the sun dried them out. There were also less ball marks than usual which was nice to see. The course is in really NICE shape right now and gets a ton of play on the weekends.

Early 4 hour round Sunday morning Oaks/Creek nines. The tee boxes were in better shape than in previous rounds but the par three tees were all beat to death. The rough has gotten out of control again with wayward shots impossible to find. They were cutting what they could on the Oaks nine but I guess the rain hasn't let them keep up. The fairways all are dark green with excellent coverage and nice lies. The traps were all in need of maintenance and some even lacked rakes. Those traps with rakes in them needed to be raked by those that had been in them. The greens are in great condition with the exception of the first hole on the Oaks nine. Almost looks like they are letting it go to seed (reminded me of a course I won't mention). The greens were all quite a bit slower than usual and surprisingly had few ball marks. I'm not sure if they've been watering the course or not? With the rain not having been around for a few days the course was still cart path only on a few holes.

Early morning 5 hour round on the Creek/Stone nines. Course was frosted over at tee time which kept the carts on the paths until 8:30 am. That slowed play as well as a group which included former MLB player David Justice. The tee boxes really show the amount of play thid facility gets (not in a good way). Many of the tee boxes were nearly just sand. The rough is a few inches long which is about right to keep bad shots from straying ob but short enough to hit from when you found yourself in it. The Creek nine still has a couple of holes where the fairway turf just does't fill in completely. Most lies were very good with numerous unfilled divots on a few holes. The fairways have dried up enough to allow for some roll off the tee. The traps are mostly well cared for with adequate sand which was pretty damp still and many needed to be raked. Hitting from the traps was not too penal if you found yourself in one. The greens were rolling very quick with way too many ball marks on several of the greens mostly on the Creek side. They held good shots with a little less break than usual. The staff is always on point and the pro shop is well stocked. Justice wants to be remembered as a Braves player!

Played the Oaks/Creek nines on a nice Saturday afternoon. The early morning frost delay pushed our start time back an hour which pushed our finish into the darkness. I asked why we would be charged the morning rate when we were not starting until the afternoon. It took a little complaining to have them charge us the afternoon rate. We had scheduled the tee time to be able to finish before darkness. Anyways the course was still CPO which added to the long round but it was obvious it was the right choice. The entire course was all GREEN from tee to green and in between. Most all of the tee boxes were in great shape with good coverage. The rough was not too long but locating your balls in it wasn't real easy. The fairways were all really damp and soggy in places. The lift, clean and place was necessary on almost every hole with no roll and plugged fairway shots. The traps were in need of a raking and many had standing water in them. The greens were in nice condition but many had tons of ball marks that were not repaired. Shots into the greens held well and they were still fairly quick with less break than usual. The course gets so much weekend play and many of those out there are not really good at fixing their marks or raking the traps. I'm sure that the CPO rule will be lifted by the coming weekend which will speed up play. Highly recommended

Played a frosty early am Sunday morning round on the Creek/Stonehouse nines in about four hours. The staff is always the best and the newly seeded driving range looks great. The tee boxes were all thin with lots and lots of sandy footing. The rough is much more forgiving now that it has been trimmed down so one can find their balls in it. Still difficult to advance it a far as you might like though. The fairways have very nice coverage on Stonehouse but you might find a thin lie or two on the Creek nine. The traps are all in great condition with plenty of sand but we noticed a couple without any rakes? The greens are in good condition with a few more ball marks than usual but still rolling pretty fair and quick again. This resort gets tons of play every day and I'm always impressed with the over all conditions.

Played the Creek/Oaks nines on 8-5 as the Stone nine is still closed for over seeding. Staff is always great but the driving range was ALSO closed for over seeding! That was a bummer. Then we found out that the Oaks was cart path only! So much for a quick round. The carts are still some of the best around and nicely kept. The tee boxes on the Creek were somewhat thin and marred up on the par three holes. The Oaks tee boxes were thick and lush and long. The fairways on the Oaks had great coverage with good lies if you didn't find a divot in need of sand. The Oaks fairways were thick, green and LONG. The length of the turf on the Oak fairways was nearly as long as the rough on the Creek. The rough on the Creek was 3-5 inches long and very penal if and when you found your balls. There were numerous lost balls in the Creek rough as we looked for those from our group. The rough on the Oaks was ridiculously NOT fair for the golfers. It was nearly impossible to locate your ball in the Oaks rough let alone advance it. The traps were all in really good condition and most were raked or had rakes in them. The greens on the Creek always have the most traffic and it shows. Numerous ball marks and foot prints in the afternoon. The greens on the Oaks were in much nicer shape with few ball marks and rolled nicely once you were on deck. The cart path only really slowed down the pace as we finished in 5.25 hours. The Stone nine and driving range once reopened will take some play off of these two nines which will definitely speed things up.
