Played on 10/26/14. I just made up a new phrase. It is what it is. The good is that the greens and tee boxes are good. Bunkers are good too. Also, it is very walkable which is good and the pace of play was just under 4 hours on a Sunday late morning. The bad is that yes you will smell the sewer plant on some holes when the wind is blowing from the west. The rough around the greens is different on each hole and even on some parts of around each green. Fairways are bare and lush in some places even on the same hole. Oh well, I play it every few months and it could be worse. It is what it is.

Played 10/13/14. I just recently started playing again after taking about 15 years off. Tee to green the course is in pretty rough shape. I guess this is due to the drought - I remember the course as being in much better condition 15+ years ago. The greens may not look great but they roll just fine. I had a great time. I will return because it was only $20 with a cart, it is close to home, and I need the practice.

The Inland Empire of Southern California is rich with a multitude of top tier tracks. It's really nirvana for golf here. If you add in prices, availability, interesting tracks and weather....there is just not too many places in the country better for golf. That being said, if you have a chance to play one of these great tracks, skip this farm. If you're a fan of dead grass, uninteresting design and the smell of human feces(sewage treatment facility across the street).....this place is all you. I will give a shout out to the pro shop staff who were very hard working during a very busy tournament on the sister Chino Creek course and were only just a bit off getting us a cart. And of course, it wasn't their fault when said cart died on #12 where they had to bring us a new one. They were out there just 5 min after calling the pro shop to alert them....that's a record in my book.
Great customer service, poop for a course!
Unless its free....stay home.

To begin, don't expect "resort" conditions, and you shouldn't be disappointed. This is a value golf course. I try to play this course often, as it is close to home, easy to get on after twilight, has an all-grass driving range, and is great to walk. On 9/22/14 I played solo (as I often do), and finished right at 4 hours. Tee boxes and greens in good shape, but fairways showed some thin spots where sprinklers don't deliver the much-needed water. For those who aren't familiar with this course, there are water hazards that cannot be seen on several holes on the back 9 (right of 13th green; left side of 15th fairway near the green; left side of fairway on 17th hole, near the green; and 2 separate areas along left side of 18th fairway) - use of some kind of golf app on your phone (if you carry one), or some other aid would be most useful to avoid these hazards that are very much in play.

Course is in bad shape. I know there is a drought but you can water a few times a week. Svc was a joke. Unless you are a regular they don't even aknowledge you. Think I'll save my Social Security for ... Continue »

So for $34 walking rate and a POP of about 3:45hours I was "satisfied". The course is not a resort course or a premier Southern Cali track. This is good ol' fashioned pasture golf. Pretty straight forward course...no suprises. Greens weren't too bad...a bit "shaggy & soft". Fairways and rough just sort of blend together.....If you are in the middle you assume you are in the fairway, it is just the "grass" looks about the same as the rough. Bunkers were in good shape...sand was decent. If you are looking to walk and need a filler round, give this place a look.

This is a really fun course (easy, but fun). Every hole seems different and requires different types of shots. I especially love the finishing hole. Its a great hole to settle some wagers. It seems like every time I have played this course, par never wins the hole. Sometimes birdie doesn't even win the hole. The conditions of the course are always decent (and for $25 weekend walking rate its well worth the green fee). The greens were a little softer, slower, and bumpier than normal. The pace of play always seems to be good here (about a 4:15 POP), especially when compared to the Long Beach area courses. Its definitely worth the 30 minute drive from LB.

played this week with my buddies on a weekday afternoon off. last time i was here was years ago. the course certainly doesn't pretend to be anything other than cheap and affordable golf. clubhouse, starter shack, and cafe look they're straight out of the 70's and never updated. scorecard is filled with ads. we only paid 20 bucks with a cart so we couldnt' complain. tee boxes were scruffy, but fairways had grass, no significant bare areas. greens were super soft and receptive, a bit bumpy though. no real trouble around the greens, on the back i missed 6 greens and saved 5 of them for par. we got stuck behind some girl's high school tournament so it was kind of slow going, about 4.5 hours even though the course appeared essentially empty. sand was hard and wet. no service to speak of. but at least a hot dog is only like $2.75 or something and a soda is a buck fifty. layout is unremarkable, essentially lots of un-memorable, straight par 4's and 5s, runs around that dirt farm or cow farm or whatever that lot with the steel shack and mounds of dirt that smell like manure is. worst smell is on holes 8 and 9. anyway it was good practice, if you aren't pretentious, just want to play golf for a reasonable rate, and don't mind getting time warped back to 1975, this is your place.

Having played the El Prado courses at least once a year for the past 40 years or so, you kind of know what to expect. The overall condition is always "scruffy" but it's inexpensive golf and for $23, worth putting up with less than pristine conditions.

I knew the greens had recently been punched and didn't expect much, but they were quick, rolled true, and receptive to well struck shots. No complaints!

Always have a positive experience with the golf staff. They never hassle me with my request to get out as a single at first light so I can zip around and finish in a couple hours. Plus they never misrepresent conditions, or availability of excess
