Tee boxes in good shape none were really torn up and you can always find a level spot.
The fairways were surprisingly nice! Very green cut tight and very few brown/thin spots.
The rough here has always been bad here. What there is of it is not too long but just covered with small animal holes. Makes for some very tough spots to hit out of.
The bunkers are a mixed bag although most looked to have ample sand. Some still looked a bit thin.
The greens have not completely recovered from punching. No sand just a little bumpy and soft.
I like playing here for a quick round after work but not my first choice on a weekend at the $50 rack rate.

Played Butterfield Stage on a gorgeous day (3/30/2013) and enjoyed it thoroughly. Had heard/read a few horror stories about cow manure smells, gnats and flies and machine guns - not all untrue, but not at all distracting. The condition of the fairways and greens was very good - only dry patches in the rough but hit it straight and you don't have to worry about that. The manure smell was only really light, but it may be worse in hot summer, along with the bugs. Machine guns from the adjacent range? I normally play Westchester with 747's taking off and landing all day so it was nothing. The bunkers, to be honest, need a lot more sand - they're pretty poor I must admit. Fun course, great views - forgiving for a newbie like myself but still challenging. I would definitely like to return and score better than I did yesterday. Only bad thing was the condition of the ancient carts - those need some updating/modernizing.

You could be on hardpan in middle of one fairway and then in 1" or better grass in another fairway. The only good thing were the greens. Smooth and quick, you had to stay below the hole as downhillers were fast.

Played early Sunday morning and course is in good shape. Greens are soft and shots were holding greens. Fairways are lush with a few bare spots and some areas have been over watered. POP was normal for a Sunday round of golf.

After reading the recent review on Chino Creek, I had some reservations about playing here. The greens were very nice, rolled reasonably true and were fairly quick, Bunkers are in good condition. Typically these course are always "scruffy" with lots of bare areas, but I thought that overall the condition was better than I'd seen over the past few times I've played here. A lot more grass on the fairways than I recall.

Dennis, in the shop is always a pleasure to deal with and I never have any issues with getting our early.

Club house guy let me go off 1st in dark as I wanted- thank you.

Haven't played here in years, wanted a quick 18. Due to heat, course soaked. Walking was like feet feeling like plungers popping off ground as feet sink in fairways.

Greens were excellent.

Sand in traps ( that's what they are) best I've seen around this year.

Not a tough course- flat- would have broke 80 but for not concentrating wedge dunked in water.

Fun tee shot on 10 trying to fly thru edison wires.

37 to walk a little high.

Speed no issue as single.

Played an early am round here on the 4th.
I reviewed this course before but that was after a quick round after work.
First off the guys in the pro shop were friendly. We got out right on time.
The fairways are a mix of grass and weeds( a lot of weeds).The greens are really inconsistent. Some are fluffy and super slow and some are smooth and medium speed.
The rough is patchy long in places and a lot holes from gophers and the like. really tough to hit out of when our ball settles into a small bare spot in 3"rough.
The traps were really a mix. Some had ok sand and some were dirt with weeds growing in them.
To top it off, it smelled! Between the dairy next door and the sewage plant across the road you never really got away from it.
Pace of play was quick but we started at 6:30.

I don't think this will on my regular rotation of courses I play, maybe a quickie after work.

Played last week after work Tee'd off @ 4:45 and finished just before dark. Tee boxes are ok mostly level and not too many divots. The fairways were cut short and you get a decent amount of roll but still had good lies. Many of the bunkers had new sand and were fluffy but not all. Some were still hard dirt with weeds growing in them. The greens were super soft and long. Really slow and bumpy.
Overall for $24w/cart not a bad course. I am going to try and get back out this week and see if the greens have gotten any better. I like to unwind after work with a quick round and this track is much quicker to get around than Diamond Bar.
