Played March 3rd. Course was in good condition. Fairways were lush and green. The rough was log and because of the gofers, very lumpy. greens rolled consistent. Sand traps as always were lacking sand, but I wasn't in one today so I didn't mind. The big issue are those dang birds, they crap all over everything. Wish the course would get rid of them. Can't beat the price.

Played here as a single on 2/22/12. Showed up without a tee time and got put on the waiting list. Only waited 15 minutes and got called in to play. I have to say, $24 for a Sunday round with a cart was fantastic. Played with two other singles. Even as a threesome, the pace of play was decent (about 4 1/2 hours). All in all the course was in good shape for this time of the year. The fairways were overseeded well but left a little to long for my liking. (Not much roll) The greens however were in good shape and rolled nicely. I prefer the Chino Creek course because it just smells better. Also, the puddle duck crap on this course sticks to your spikes. The sand is poor on most holes but playable. Fun day out on the course.

Played an afternoon round 10-23. Pace of play was excellent never waited on any hole. Tee boxes were ok you could always find a level spot. The fairways were a little long and you got almost no roll. The greens where a little slow and very hard to read.(just coming back from punching) The bunkers were terrible! No sand at all and I even saw grass starting to grow in several. Most were as hard as the parking lot with a lot of small rocks.
For $22 its an ok way to spend an afternoon.

I play golf on Sundays but I don't have a lot of money . El Prado has two courses that are inexpensive and not to bad for play . We got a good deal sunday , $25 with a cart . Only because the greens were punched and the farways over seeded . My only complaint is the sand traps . No sand .

Played Butterfield on Sunday 10/2. The pro shop persons are very nice but the pace of play was horrible. Fivesomes two holes behind didn't care. Pro shop didn't help.

Beyond the pace of play the course was in horrible condition. Greens just punched. aereated. Fairways were being overseeded. Unless it rains hard course will be in better condition in November.

Pro shop disclosed the bad conditions and only charged $25 with cart but the pace of play was horrible. Probably better to play Los Serranos where they do seem do care a bit about pace of play but it is more expensive.

Played Wed. the 14th. The course is in ok shape. The greens were very nice with a few unrepaired ball marks. I really don't understand why people cannot take the time to fix a obvious ding in the green when they walk onto the putting surface. The sand in the traps is just not there, in eighteen holes only one actually had sand in it. There are weeds growing in many of the traps which makes for some interesting lies. Most of the fairways were in good shape. The rough is pretty gnarly in most areas the ball falls through the turf to make finding the ball really tough in many cases. all in all it is worth the green fee but just barely. The course needs some TLC.

There has always been a lot a "scruffy areas" on this course, but I remember the fairways as being better than they were today. Too many bare areas. Course needs some TLC.
Staff was nice. $25 to walk is about the max this place is worth. Lots of competion at a more competitive price and much better conditioning

Haven't played here in a few months. Pace of play was 4 1/2 hours due to a snail pace threesome. I think it was wide open in front of them because they didn't have to wait, ever. So we would have to wait for them on every hole. No marshal, and no beverage cart.
Tee boxes need to be mowed, and several are not flat. Fairways were in pretty fair condition. The greens were very soft, nice and green, no bare spots. Medium to slow pace. Cart paths are pretty rough, keep the club covers on. The traps were very consistent. Consistently bad that is. More like dirt, and not much dirt in them, forget about a blast shot, just try to chip it off the hard pan surface, kind of disappointing. I was only in one all day, but I witnessed my playing partners, and they all complained about it.
So overall, just an average course with so so conditions, but it isn't very expensive, and I would play here again.
