The greens are recovering nicely from recent punch but the speed is very slow. The fairways are overseeded and they're letting it grow like a 1st cut rough. The course is fun to play and the layout is setup for all levels golfers. You get used to the stench after few holes. The pace is good and there are many good players moving quickly in the early morning. The sand traps are HARD.. better to chip out..

The customer service, to my surprise after reading the recent reviews, needs major improvement. The guy behind the sunday morning desk was plain rude like he was never treated nicely in his life. Try smiling and say 'HELLO'!

This course is fun. I think they do things right here. The guys in the pro shop do the best in trying to get you out when you don't have a time. Dennis is the coolest starter I have ever met in the 30 years I have played golf. the greens are always great and the challenge is perfect for that weekend skins game between you and some friends. The smell from the old Cow farms is all but gone now, and it is very beautiful in the fall. walking is not a problem and you won't lose alot of balls here. This course also has JUNIOR TEES. Perfect distance for the young ones. And they don't call them "Ladies Tees" so your son won't be embarresed to play from them. Take your junior to this course.

The only gripe i really have about this course is their bunkers. There was really no sand in them. It was mainly hard packed dirt, felt like hitting out of hard pan. the greens were slow but rolled true.

Conditions are very good all around. You won't get PGA tour shaved greens and fairways here. You will get soft, smooth greens that roll true. You will get a decent lie in the fairway. You take your chances in the rough.

Highly recommended for a bargain round of golf.

Honestly, other courses should take note. This place is a bargain and delivers an enjoyable round of golf. I don't need $100 green fees for a course that tries to have bells and whistles, Augusta conditions, and rarely succeeds at that. Give me a nicely conditioned course, a cheap price, and get out of my way.

There is grass on the tee boxes and fairways, so at least El Prad's got that going for it. But there is absolutely no sand in any of the bunkers. None. But hey, for 25 bucks, I could care less. People inside were cool, very nice and the wind picked up to make it a challenge today.

I've played this course twice in the past 2 months and the Chino Creek one once. Chino Creek is definitely a little more visually appealing and it plays longer as well. Butterfield is a great course however, except for some very hard sand...in fact I wouldn't even call it sand. There are rocks and other debris in the bunkers, you can't even sink your sand wedge into it, resulting in your ball flying over the green into the bunker on the other side. Other than the bunkers though, these are great courses for the money. Fairways are not too fast because they keep the grass a bit longer than most places, however this results in very nice looking green fairways. Greens have been recently aerated and are soft but pretty quick in the afternoons. For $28 twilight time, you can't go wrong.

Fun course, I will be back. Only negative about course is the greenside bunkers are just hard dirt. Play them like hardpan and you will do okay. If they make them sand the course would really be nice.
