Played on Friday and was the 3rd group out. Some waiting but picked up on the back 9 and finished pretty close to 3 1/2 hours. Didn't see the group behind us after the first hole. Overall check in was smooth and the starter got us out right on time.

Greens are certainly the highlight. They rolled great and it was nice to see them in this shape even with the fall maintenance scheduled in a couple of weeks. A few ball marks here and there but nothing outrageous. You could see it was verticut not too long ago but I don't think it had any impact on the pace of the greens.

Fairways are generally good. Pretty good coverage in the fairways but there are some bare/dry areas. There were a few really wet spots either here or just off in the rough. My ball did embed in one spot and I was standing in a swamp in another spot. Not sure why it was so wet but just dropped it close to the spot and moved on.

Rough was mixed but generally good. There are some really lush and thick spots and other spots which there isn't any grass. There were quite a few maintenance workers out today and seemed to be preparing for overseeding

I wasn't in a bunker but was pretty close to them and was actually surprised that there were no rakes. Consequently there were many areas that had been disturbed and didn't look like they were raked by the maintenance crew in the morning.

Tee boxes were good. Some more divot damage on par 3s but there was always a spot to tee it off from.

Overall I always enjoy the course I think it can be challenging but yet fair. Looks like they were providing the finishing touches on the new area of the range with some type of Foresight monitors. I really wished I lived closer to here because I would play it more often.

9/8 415 POP which seemed slower due to some trouble early on causing our 4 some to be out of position with the groups ahead playing really fast and the 4some behind was about a hole back. The course is getting a lot of play and some areas show the wear. Fairways have good cover and more divots have been filled but still a fair amount were neglected. On our cart the bottles were empty but was able to fill up on #3 where there was a box with divot mix. Rough is currently being cut down and with it being on the dry side it is not very punitive. Tees are mostly good.
Sand traps are a mess greenside being the worst. The course has removed all the rakes as most people were not using them and has made a local rule to lift and place. It was obvious also that they had not been groomed for a couple of days.
Greens are very playable and roll well even though they show the effects of so much play and some un-repaired or poorly repaired ball marks.

Played last Momday 8/2. Teed off at 1230 (still got twilight rate $50). Played with a two-some (the one dude was a +1 handicap) serious game. He gave me 7 strokes. Overall course condition is really good. I love the firm fairways, that extra roll is nice. Greens were good, med/fast speed. Some challenging par 4's, #16 brutal. If your spraying your driver it's going to be a long day! I'll defiantly be back, you need to play this track a few times to get the hang of it.

I played Arrowood in Oceanside, CA, three times in the months of June and July, 2021. Course conditions were consistently very good across all three rounds. I had played Arrowood about a dozen times before these three rounds over a period of 20 years, the course has been very consistent in all this time.

First impressions when you arrive is a very friendly staff and and brand new carts with GPS (now with Bluetooth course guide). Here's the only negative to the whole course, mats only driving range (I hate mats!). Nice putting and chipping practice areas. Clubhouse and Pro Shop are small, but modern and well-stocked. Excellent grill and pub with a lively buzz.

From the first tee to the last, plenty of tee boxes, level and lush with excellent viewing of the fairways. Five different tees: Black, Silver, Blue, Ladies and Seniors, the card has a suggested mix of Black/Silver tees. Arrowwood is not extremely long at any tee level because the course is so well-defended by difficult greens, close boundaries,large bunkers and good number of difficult water hazards.

Fairways are lush and wide with well-placed bunkers that eat up poorly aimed tee shots. I feel some of these are too penal, with many deep faces that force explosion shots that must be played sideways or backwards, best to stay out of them altogether! There are a few very difficult water hazards, especially on 16 and 18 holes that can wreak havoc with end of your round.

The course itself has varied elevations with most greens in well designed green complexes that keep approach shots within the large areas. Lots of walking from your cart to the putting surfaces and very large bunkers. Sand traps are well-maintained with a nice sand quality and plenty of it without pebbles. Arrowwood suffers the same fate of most golf courses in America, the lazy golfer who refuses to clean up after themselves. Nowhere is this more evident than on the greens. Moderate scarring from unfixed ball marks is to be found on every green here. The greens are mown closely, the speed is medium/fast, but this only accentuates the bumps in otherwise beautiful surfaces. Please fix your ball mark and two others!

I'm an afternoon player, pace was slightly behind 4.5 hours, not sure of earlier pace of play. I often play as a single and I've always been paired with delightful playing partners, I can't stress enough how much I appreciate a golf course for the quality of their patrons. This course is difficult for me to walk, even with a riding cart. I'm a mid-70's scorer when I'm on, my best scores here are 77-low 80's. Having been a long time Torrey Pines member, which I score as a 10, I give Arrowood a solid 8! For the money and excellent weather conditions, I highly recommend that golfers of all levels play Arrowood!

Played 7/28 and 8/2 POP 430 and 415 with minimal waiting and no following pressure. Fairways have mostly good cover with very few thin lies but still with ample cushion as the course is watering extensively but not to the point of flooding. Appears that there is more attention to filling divots but still too much neglect, more so on the back 9 and inside the cart signs. Rough is cut down somewhat a little shorter in front of the greens so there is a chance that a ball might run up. There are still some tough spots on slopes and further from the fairway proper. Tees mostly in good shape and teeing areas are more narrow and being rotated more frequently. Bunkers have heavy sand mostly groomed and rakes available and actually used on occasion.
Greens are also well watered and soft accepting full shots but also providing roll out for chips and putts. Cover appears rather thin and the surface appears fragile as there are some large pitch marks in the process of slowly healing. Some bumpiness but mostly smooth rolling at medium fast speeds.
Good service, large practice greens for chipping and putting, range with mats and carts with interactive GPS.

Played yesterday, 7/7, teetime at 2:24 for $50 twilight rate with cart. Check in easy and starter has good presence to make sure everything goes smooth. Great customer service from restaurant and cart girl, too.

Course remains one of my favorites in SD County. Consistently in good condition and yesterday was no exception. Teeboxes all level, no issues and great coverage, even on the par3's. Fairways were excellent, still showed a little aeration mark, but never had any problem at all. Great to hit from and I only missed one fairway, so that's nice. Greenside bunkers were very soft sand, fried egg on greenside left bunker on number one, but still managed to get it out onto the green, very lucky. Fairway bunkers are nice and firm, but be sure to avoid the greenside bunkers, they're all too soft in my opinion. I didn't encounter much rough, at all, but some of it looked pretty thick, especially around the greens and some of the rough off the fairways was thicker in some places than others. Greens were just fine. Some didn't hold shots quite as well as expected, but for the most part, they were great. Very smooth and medium-fast speed. I still sucked and had 41 putts, but that's my fault, I'm just awful at putting.

Easy recommend. I took two of my buddies who never played there before and they were thoroughly impressed and we all had a blast. POP right at 4.25hrs. no problem at all.

Greens: The greens were in good shape, very lush and just the right amount of firmness. You could still slightttly see where they spiked the green resulting in a little bumpiness, but most putts still ran well.

Fairways/Rough: Never had a bad lie in either. Both are very lush, maybe slightly on the dry side but I wouldn't call them dry if that makes sense. Some expected divots but just the usual per say.

Bunkers: Fresh sand, solid bunkers.

Tee Boxes: They maybe had the most divots but still not a lot. Good shape, never had trouble looking for a spot to tee it up.

All-in-all it was great conditions for only $50!

6/14 on a nice slightly overcast day with no wind and a really nice POP of about 345. Fairways generally have sufficient cover, mowed a little tight for good roll but still soft enough underneath to give good cushion for irons while requiring attention for metals and hybrids. Seemed like people started to lose interest in filling divots on the back. Rough is varied and can be clumpy in spots so the ball can be sitting down behind longer grass. Around the greens it tends to be thicker and today cut down to about 2 inches.
Tees are mostly in good shape overall and it appears they are rotating placement daily. Bunkers have good ample sand, recently groomed and has compacted some to be more playable. Rakes are now present but only put to use about 50% of the time.
Regarding the greens the front was in nice shape smooth quick and consistent. The back however had been micro punched and some punches were not really all that micro. There was not prior info about this and nothing was mentioned at check in. Consequently the back greens had some bumpiness which tended to exacerbate break as the ball slowed.

I played today with a 7:21am tee time. I had anticipated hot weather but it turned out to be a perfect cool and breezy day. My round was pre-paid and upon check in I was offered 3 cart choices- single for $10, share one for $0 or take an old cart without GPS for $0. I was paired with a twosome and another single. I didn’t have any time to warm up so I just hoped I’d get off to a good start.

The course is in really good shape. The fairways are all green with only a few areas where the turf was a little thin and showing signs of recent punching. A few greens showed the same, but still rolled true at a medium speed. Tee boxes were level with a minor amount of divots. The bunkers were a pleasant surprise. A few were a bit damp but the sand was plentiful, clean, soft and really easy to hit out of. The rough varied from long and lush to short, dense and clumpy. Luckily I never landed in the long stuff.

There have been a few changes around the course since the last time I played there. Several bunkers have been removed, as has been the desert area that was in the middle of the #13 fairway. It’s so nice to have that all grass again. There is also a new lake in front of the green on #6. Visually it’s very nice and it definitely ups the challenge on the short par 4.

POP was good at just over 4 hours. All the staff was nice, the course was great, my playing partners were so much fun, and I played really well too. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Definitely recommended.
