Played mid-afternoon, Sun Apr 29. This was my first round in about 5 or 6 years here, so I was anxious to see how the complex had changed. Well, I was blown away. This is a terrific public facility now. The course changes are terrific. First, the routing now is much better -- the finish on the island green is a lot of fun. Second, the maintenance is far better. The course looks cleaner and more polished. Third, the new holes on the front side are well designed, fun and challenging. Those new holes have some terrific green complexes. Fourth, the course plays much harder and faster - more links-like - and the turf (at least on holes 1-13) is much tighter and better. For $25 walking at twilight, this has to be one of the top values as far as municipal tracks in SoCal. I'm now looking forward to playing the Lakes course to see how it compares. I was really skeptical about coming out here today, but I'm glad I did. It's a fun, well maintained course, and a good challenge playing in windy or breezy conditions. Everyone involved with the redesign and maintenance here deserves a lot of credit.

Played Monday twilight with longball23 & rgm2535 in normal, slightly windy Oxnard beach conditions. 4.5 hour round with all 4 players walking. Greens rolled great, medium fast and consistent from green to green. Really lush with few ball marks. Fairways & rough are decent, not great looking because they are mostly dormant/brown but they play better than they look. Expect some tight/thin lies on the fairways, what I would consider normal winter condition. Tees were well maintained, sand traps were freshly raked with good sand and in excellent shape. Great value @ $22 to walk twi-light during the week.

Played today 1/30 last twilight group at...have not played year in over a year. These greens are great right now, rolling very true and firm with irons without spin. Sand was nicely raked and in decent shape. Most tee boxes were level but were thin. Fairways were in poor to average shape and thin. Pro-shop nice and for $22.00 bucks walking at twilight its a good deal. Very good mix of par 5's, 4's and 3's here. I for sure would recommend coming out here for the greens alone.

played 1-27 early morning with nickesquire1 in a little bit of wind at times about a three club difference. tee boxes in good shape mostly level with descent grass. fairways where a little thin but still in good shape not as much roll out as some of the other courses in the area. bunkers are in really nice shape.rough is only about a half an inch higher then fairways. greens are really nice right now medium fast speed a little firm but still holding shots. pro shop always helpful and friendly. course is well worth playing right now.

1st time out @ the Vineyard course in over 4 years. Played Friday AM in 30 to 50 mph wind gusts, so the golf conditions were challenging. Was hitting a 3I from 185 to 190 into the wind and a 7I from the same distance downwind.

The greens were about as nice/lush as you are going to find for a public course that gets lots of play in January. Medium fast, very few ball marks, they rolled well, were consistent from green to green and held shots. Sand traps had nice fluffy new sand and were all freshly raked. Fairways, rough and tees were decent, not great, but the greens more than made up for that. Susan in the pro shop was great as always and they had Marshalls regularly patrolling the course.

played on Monday dec 26th. Drove down to River Ridge thinking it would be less crowded than the Los Angeles courses. I was wrong. Very Crowded. End up playing 6 holes in 2 and half hours. Ended up trying to find empty holes to fulfill the hour left til dark. Played 9 holes in a hour(threesome). 4 holes on the vineyard side and 5 holes on the lakes side. Condition are quite similar to last time i played here about 3 weeks ago, but the greens were alot more bumpier. Greens on the lakes side were much better. Overall conditioning is also better on the lakes side. Didn't see a cart girl on this busy day, but saw water coolers around the course. Saw the marshall numerous times, but it was just to crowded to speed up play. Both course layouts are fun to play.

We first came here in August 2008, since we stayed at the Residence Inn next door, and during this time, it was only the Vineyard 18 that was open, I just came about 2 weeks before the Victoria Lakes 18 was going to first open. Then the next day played the Vineyard course, and it is a great challenging layout, the fairways are decently maintained, there is some patches on the fairway, but they mark all of the bare spots, so if you land there, you can take a free drop. The tee boxes and greens are pretty well kept. There is a good amount of water on the back 9, where on the 18 hole, it is an island green par 3 hole. Holes 3-6, on the Vineyard course are all new holes, and on holes 5 and 6, it provides a great view of Oxnard, where you can even see the 101 freeway from. The clubhouse in River Ridge is pretty nice and modern, it's an open air clubhouse in the hall in the middle, and the pro shop is pretty specious, the merchandise and equipment are presented nicely. I would recommend this golf course especially golfers from LA, this is the perfect place you can just go for a short golf getaway, and stay and play.

played here on 12-9 thursday afternoon. Second time playing this side of the course and haven't played here in about 6 years ago. Really enjoyed the layout of the course. Not a overly long course (6700 yards), but they have some nice variety of holes. Drivable par 4's, short par 5's, and long par 4's. I thought the greens were in really good shape and had a little speed to them. Bunkers were nicely raked and has good sand in them. Wasn't able to finish the round due to 4-5 group tournament on the course. They were playing better ball, and they were really bad.

Played yesterday with a group. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to play 18. Course is in great condition. This is a tough course especially with water on the last 4 holes and hole #13. This course has a variety of terrain here. It is not flat. A few holes are played on top of a hill. Holes 14 - 18 has a country club feel to it with houses surrounding the fairways. Hole 18 is their signature par 3 island green.

Tee boxes were nice and lush tho' it was not level for a few tee boxes. Fairways are in great condition. The sand was nice and fluffy. Not used to hitting out of bunkers with sand which was really soft. Bunkers were hard to hit out of. The lip of the bunkers were real high for a lot of holes. Greens were in great shape.

It's not cheap to play here but I like coming here because the weather is so much cooler and nicer that the SFV. But winds which came in the afternoon were a factor when we played today. For hole 18 which played into the wind, you need to take 1 or 2 extra clubs to make the green. There is no GPS in the carts but there were plenty of yardage markers on the course. They have a nice clubhouse if you want to hang out before or after your round.
