Played on Saturday in a league tournament. Things were much better after they had cleaned up some big time wind damage from a couple weeks prior. Although the course was more pleasing to the eye with green fairways, the grass was thin and spotty to the point the way played preferred lies. Good drives that should have stayed in the fairway often rolled off to the sides. Greens were in good shape and fast. Rough was also thin.

Slightly overpriced even in today's market with some funky holes due to power lines. Just a net for driving range and the clubhouse is closed. Grill was outside in a tent...

Played the Babe on a windy Friday, 1/28. This is always a tough layout, but usually the conditions make it a treat to play there even on a rough day. Sorry to say that I've never seen the course in worse shape. Can't blame them for the debris on the course, but everything was in winter condition. Fairways were thin and the areas around the greens had bare spots, etc. Bunkers were OK considering the weather. Cart girl came by a few times, which is good since there's no break after 9.

POP was good and the rate not bad at mid $60's includes cart with GPS. Just disappointed that I couldn't show off a better course to my out of town buddies.

Played the back 9 and dine special on Sunday 1/30 for $75 includes cart and full breakfast. The course in the best shape that I've ever seen it. Tee boxes and Fairways were green and lush. Rough was thick enough to lose a ball in, but not overly tall. Sand in the bunkers was perfectly groomed. Tough layout to start on... I usually prefer the warm up provided by the front 9 which is much tamer.

The price is steep for 18, but everything about the place is top notch right now. Maybe catch a twighlite round if you're looking for a better value?

Got a last minute time and walked on at RSJ for a Saturday 8:06. I never expect too much, but the course has been improving over the last few months. Tee boxes are level, but some are wearing thin due to heavy use after renovation. 75% of the fairways are in very good shape with reseeded areas filling in. There's still some bare spots out there. Greens and bunkers were very good. POP was good at 4:20. Still think $60 is a lot for walking on this course, but what else can you do?

One of my favorite courses, and it did not disappoint this time out. I've never seen it in better shape. Tee boxes were sharp and level. Only one or two were getting overused on par 3's. Fairways firm and green bermuda with good cushion for the winter...

Love all of the changes that they've made to the course and the restaurant/bar with expanded patio seating. Didn't get to check out the TopTracer range upgrades, but this place is top notch. Good value for the money.

Played a GK18 match with BNaso on a gorgeous Sunday with a late morning start. POP was less than 4.5 hrs, and conditions were well above average. Good coverage on green fairways. Tees boxes were 7/10. Greens were still healing from recent aeration, but the punched holes were small and they rolled quite well. Bunkers were decent, with a dirt/sand consistency. Course had a lot more going for it than I expected. I’d play again for $57 with cart on a weekend morning. Don’t go out of your way, but if you have a reason to make the the drive you’ll enjoy the round.

I'm going to take the easy route and say "ditto" to Mark's comments. Not going to rate it as it wouldn't be fair in it's current state as under maintenance. Love this course for the interesting and challenging layout. Would love to play it in it's prime condition.

I needed some practice and got a hot deal at Rancho San Joaquin for 30 bucks walking. I typically don’t expect much when I play there, but I can see they’re really trying to make improvements.

All the tea boxes had been recently renovated and have matured nicely and are the highlight of the course. The greens on the front nine and then recently punched in sanded back nine greens were in fairly good shape some showing some bare spots in need of some TLC. Call number 15 as a temporary Greene while they rebuild the one at the top of the hill to make it more level.

The fairways were greener than I’ve ever seen them. Several holes were cartpath only as that is their focus for improvement. Still they were several wear grass just wouldn’t grow. They are going to have to lay more sod. One of the green complexes had bare spots also while the rough was quite lush.

They are going in the right direction. As long as the rates do not out pace the renovation it’s a decent value.

Played on Saturday with my monthly golf league and was surprised at how much this course has improved!

Tee boxes were in good shape, with several to choose from. We played the Blue/White combo at 6477 yards. Fairways were green with good cushion and the rough was lush... A couple greens had some bare spots but generally were in good shape overall.

It can get windy out there, but yesterday was just a slight breeze which made it very comfortable on a warm day.

I'm not a fan of the bunkers as they have a hard time keeping sand in them with the wind? At least they were all groomed with rakes nearby. Fairway bunkers had plenty of larger rocks mixed in. I wasn't in any green side bunkers, but I heard from a few players that they were hard just below the raked surface.

Although the course is mostly surrounded by houses or next to the road on a few holes, I enjoyed the views with a lot of green grass, trees and mountains as the backdrop. It's not a destination course, but the rates are generally lower here so it's a good value if you can handle the drive to get there.

Tried to beat the heat by playing near the coast on Saturday but it was still near 100 at Tallega. Don’t know if it was the Covid situation or whether they have sold off the driving range but it was not available unless you drove your car separately to the other parking lot. Single carts were available and they control the pace well by only giving you the key when it was your turn the tee off.

The course was in pretty good shape, with even coverage on the fairways and tea boxes. Some greens had fresh sod laid around the perimeter. Quite a few ball marks and scuffs on the Greens but otherwise they ruled nicely. There’s a few holes that get me every time here could I couldn’t see the target pole due to the trees being so tall on the blind tee shot on 14, My monster drive was rewarded with a lost ball penalty...

Had a fun day on this challenging course, but for me it’s only worth it if we get a hot deal.

I was treated to around at Mission Hills Arnold Palmer course yesterday, and played in the mid day heat 105°. Check in was easy (masks required in the clubhouse) and we had single rider carts. Played as a twosome and had the course to ourselves.

The course was in consistently good shape overall, plenty of mature trees to provide shade when you needed it. The fairways had some thin spots but we’re mostly lush. The roof was well groomed and lush.Bunkers were well-maintained and the greens rolled fairly smooth even though they looked as if they would be very bumpy.

The course has a fun layout. There’s just enough water to make things tough in a couples. The par three 17 is a little ridiculous from the blues at 190+ carry to the green, No bail out area other than a bunker to the right. Almost made me want to lay up 100 yards out. After two in the water, I guess my first instinct was right.

It was a long drive to and from the desert but it was worth it!

Play 36 holes at the Ranch using an under par deal on a beautiful day. Course is in great condition. Fairways were lush, and he rough not too penal. Found several bunkers and the sand was plentiful and well groomed. The greens were still recovering from a verticut treatment. A fun and very scenic layout. Somewhat tight on the front nine and more open on the back nine. Definitely worth the road trip!
