Played out at the classic on Weds. morning. The good-Greens were great, especially with the rain the course got in the morning but no ball mark damage and in great shape with nice speed and they held nicely because the rain. The fairways and tees were in fair shape and very typical for Mile Square with some areas that were wet, but that was to be expected. The bunkers were in fair shape and some had standing water or were hard packed because of the rain, but the two I was in were great with firm but plenty of sand. The course is maybe not worth the 50 to walk but it is about as good as you will find in the OC for this price and fun and fair track.

Had an 8:30 tee time and finished at 1:05, $34 to walk. Marshalls out in force, a good thing. Not much change here in the past few weeks, greens were great ... very fast and only a few ball marks ..... Continue »

Not much change here in the past few weeks, greens were great ... very fast and only a few ball marks ... just the way I like them. Fairways can still give you some tight lies which can be a bummer ... lead to a couple of unnecessary bogies. Otherwise, good muni-course conditions on a flat, tree lined track with a few challenges to keep you focused but nothing that's too difficult for the average golfer. Recommended.

Got out as a single the other day and was the second group off. Pace of play was about 3 1/2 hours. The group of ahead of us was a 2some and they flew around the course. We finished about 3 holes in front of the group behind us. Greens were very good, certainly the best part about the course. I really liked the pace on them. Like the last review the fairways are decent. There are quite a few bad spots out there. You're not penalized for hitting in the rough here but you can get blocked out by some trees here. Not an overly long course but #17 is a beast of a hole. I really like the layout, most of the holes are tree lined and I caught a peak of the other 18 and that seems like the exact opposite. Pretty much an open course over there. Both courses are pretty flat and I walked this and it is no problem, not a lot of elevation changes. For $34 to walk I think this is a great deal.

POP was just under 5 hours with a 9AMtime start time. Greens very nice to putt. Fairways have some bare spots meaning tight lies. All in all, a nice day on the Classic.

Its been a few years since i've posted. The site and its community has been good to me, not sure why i stopped but here a go paying it back. Played the classic Sun. morning 10/21. A little wet when we started but only a light drizzle for the first 2 1/2 holes. I would declare the greens are fully healed from recent aeration. A little slower than normal but some of that prob had to do with drizzle. Pace was about 4 and 1/2 hours, drizzle kept some people away I guess.

Played Sat. AM on the Classic, 10 minutes behind scheduled tee time ... POP was 4.5 hours. They just aerated this week so the greens has quite a bit of sand on them but rolled evenly, although a bit on the slow side. Fairways plugged, too, so lot's of crap to deal with early when things were wet ... we played it lift/clean/place. Nice layout here with tree lined fairways, flat-walkable, a few ponds to keep you on your toes. Greens need another week or two, fairways will need a bit longer, and the course will be back in good shape.

Pro: staff service great. Great condition - tee, lush fairways, always greens are well kept. If green speed much faster would be great.
Con: pace of play was slow for Mile Square. first 9 holes, lot of wait at tee ground and some fairways. Some groups do not wave next group at all the PAR 3 holes.
Always enjoyed this course and MS always keeping the courses in good condition.
