Played in a tournament for a concrete conference down last weekend. POP was slow as we didn't have enough groups for a shotgun start, and took us right around 6 hours to finish, but that wasn't the courses fault at all.

The course had just allowed carts off the path the day we played, and it was doing very well from the overseed. Lush, green grass could be seen throughout the course from tee to green with minimal divot damage. The fairways were immaculate. The tee boxes had some minor divot damage but played great. The rough around the greens and fairways would grab your club just enough.

The only gripe was the greens. They had some minor damage that wasn't divots but small, inconsistent dead spots around the green. Maybe a fungus I don't know, but it was odd to see coming of the overseeding. They played very slow, but had deceiving breaks to them that seemed like it would be even more tricky with some speed.

I wasn't in any traps but they seemed inconsistent. Some had very large rocks in them about the size of golf balls, and some had great looking sand.

Overall, I'd play it again once the greens regain their speed. A fun, short track that makes think off the tee and had some small tricky greens.

Rode the Greens (6705/71.3/124) in slightly over 3 hours on a prepaid GolfNow deal for $3.49 (with $10 off coupon) including cart mid day. The weather was around 100, breezy and clear. The Resort course is definitely the better of the two Tahquitz courses. Older, traditional track without many upgrades. Few homes around the course is a +. Like the layout. however, the playing conditions were subpar. The Bermuda tees were semi lush, mostly level and in decent condition. The Bermuda fairways are mostly generous in width and were semi lush with some brown patches. The Bermuda rough was mowed down low. Mostly semi lush, but there were many browned out areas that were thin to semi hardpan. The traps were the worst part of the course. Decently maintained with mostly fluffy dirt but there were tons of rocks mixed in. The Bermuda greens had some brown patches and hardpan spots around the edges. Several also had many Silver dollar sized crab grass invading the greens. They rolled medium fast speed and were so firm that even high sand wedges released 15-20'. No on course staff and the restaurant was closed. Few water stations on the course. The customer service was excellent with the pro shop. No GPS on the carts, which is a challenge because they could definitely use more distance markers. All they have are rocks on either side of the fairway @ 150 and lines on some cart paths @ 100 & 200. Usually a good budget alternative in the Palm Springs area, but could not recommend until after fall over seeding based on what I experienced today.

Played on 9/2 6:06am tee time ($30) joined another single. We were second off. Finished in 2.5 hours. I can't understand why this course is rated only 5.6(good), deserves at least 6.5 in my opinion. I recently played Escena, Tera Lago South and Desert Dunes (all rated higher), but the conditions are very similar. Tees were mostly level with good coverage, minor divot damage. Fairways were good. Some dry patches but not in play, mostly good grass with balls sitting up nicely. The rough is the weakest part. Mixed bag of grass and dirt patches in some spots. Greens were good. Smooth, receptive with medium speed. The bunkers were on the thin side but very playable. Nice layout too. You have to think a little, need to position yourself off the tee, not just grip it and rip it course. The 1 big complaint in there are no yardage markers and no gps. A rock that defines 150 but nothing eles...

Greens nicely rolling Bermuda with some of the same burned out spots lurking here and there. I thought they were pretty good and held approaches well.
Bunkers I liked. ..just that perfect level of firm yet soft sand.
I didn't remember much about this course from the 3 or 4 years it had been since I last played here. Course sits in an arroyo with nicely grown flora. It's not a flagship high end course, rather a nice design with a mix of some pedestrian holes and a few that require some thought rather than just a blast down the middle.
2 things need attention -a real lack of yardage markers....I found myself looking all over the place....only in place are yellow 150 yd. rocks. Sorry that's just weak guys...help us out here if you care about pace of play. Also, spray out the concrete near the 2nd comfort station .....it smells like piss as it was probably closed and some octogenarian had to release.

Played Saturday 12/2 - Last Men's club tourney for the year.
Customer service was very good, got us out on time for an 8am shotgun, marshals circulated around to keep everyone moving, 2 tourneys going on.

The course was is very nice shape, tee boxes were green with few divots, fairways were green with some dormant areas but rolled decent, the rough was about 2-3 inches and the ball tended to settle in and hard to find. Hard to get out of since it would grab the club head. Greens were nice and lush, rolled on the slow side, maybe around 9-9.5, bunkers were mostly dirt.

Green fee included breakfast buffet, and lunch buffet. The carts have 2 USB ports, wish I had known I would have brought my charging cable.

Playing in our annual tournament course is usually in good condition but this trip not so much. Greens have large patches of sand and many burnt out areas. Fairways have some bare spots. Traps very inconsistent and many tee boxes have severe divot damage. Hopefully the greenskeeper will get this course back in good condition

Played Saturday and Sunday, November 5th & 6th. The course had been recently overseeded and we were one of the first to play after "cart path only" was lifted.

Conditions were lush with the fairways in really great shape. The tees were not quite as lush, but certainly more than playable after hunting around for a good, level spot.

I was on the practice green prior to Saturday's round and it was quite slow, almost as if the mower was set incorrectly. I thought "this is useless, surely the course greens aren't like this"!

But, they were. I suppose if this were due to recent aeration and seeding, that might be appropriate. The thing that confused me though, was the almost comical number of unrepaired ball marks. It was hard to believe, actually. I never really did get used to the lack of speed on the greens, leaving almost everything short.

The bunkers were just OK; some of them didn't have much sand in the lower, flat portions. But, they were playable.

Still, this is one of my favorite courses. The surroundings are beautiful and the course really catches your eye with its current deep-green color. The Resort course has a very interesting layout, in my opinion. Plus, the course's management really does a fine job taking care of the patrons as they lay out a very good buffet for breakfast and lunch. The food was delicious and the service was great! I suppose they don't do that for general open play, but they always take fantastic care of us as this was the 3rd time we've had our club championship there (FedEx golf club). I'm sure it won't be the last time, either.

This was the first of two courses that we played this past weekend in Palm Springs. We've played this course twice before, and we looked forward to coming back. Though, the course is reasonably flat, it does have some undulations, and even blind shots on occasion. The holes have varying styles and shapes, and that makes it interesting and good fun. The par-five holes are generally a little longer, but the par-four holes can really vary. There's a drivable par four hole, a par four with an island fairway, and a par four that doglegs hard right around water, just to give you a few examples. The par-3 seventeenth hole has always been one of my favorite short par threes in the state, and the par-3 eighth (?) is a stunner (and very tough). Though, the course is a little rough around the edges in a few places, it was well worth the $18.00 twilight fee. The greens don't look as aesthetically pleasing as those at other clubs, but they rolled very smooth for us and were medium speed. We'll be going back to play this course, soon!

Played here the last three days course was in much better condition when I played in January although still very playable and worth the green fee - check for specials. Greens were very bumpy and grainy. Some holes did not have the pin placement changed during the three days. Fairways very good condition and fairly wide open. Bunkers were hit and miss from good condition to rocky. Cart girl came by 3 to 4 and customer service was very good.
