Played TC for the first time on 5/2. Condition - course is very good. Greens were perfect, fairways quite good. Rough is hit or miss.

Note that this is at best a "muni" layout. Holes have houses on both sides that will be hit. Holes tend to be dead straight. Green designs are uninspired - small, no undulation, and only one slope (and that is usually back to front). Do not expect a Palm Springs resort type of experience. That being said, this is a decent enough course in good conditions, and won't dent your wallet like most PS courses will.

We had a chance to visit the Palm Springs area and I went out with my group to play Tahquitz Creek- Resort Course on Sunday, April 17, 2016. It was a shotgun start at 7:30AM, and for $45 a round, it includes cart, range balls, breakfast buffet, lunch buffet, skins game for net & gross.

I don't let all of those things sway my "golf course review", but I have to say that the course was in great-great shape, meaning its playing condition is spectacular from tee to green- it's useless for me to go into detail. But the course is such a pleasure to play in its current playing conditions and if you are reading this and want to play this course soon, you will not be disappointed. I - PROMISE !!

San Diego/Temecula Valley courses should take greenskeepering lessons....except for Maderas. They don't have any problems there.

Played on 12/5. I play this course and the Legends course every year at this time for a tournament. The resort course is fun, has some challenging holes as well as very easy holes. Also has some great views. The greens however were poor. I am guessing they had not recovered from their aeration but they were clearly not good. Very slow and very bumpy. Sand traps were weren't very good either. Many of them were not raked and were very hard. Pretty disappointing since the fairways and tee boxes were excellent. Not a bad lie out there. I would imagine the greens will completely heal in the next couple of weeks and then it would be worth the time to play. POP was slow about 5 hours as most tournaments seem to be. I'll be back to play it again next year!

Sixpez and I rounded out our Saturday 72-hole desert extravaganza here. $15 GN rate at 4:37. I agree with him that this was the best-conditioned course of the four we played yesterday.

The greens were smooth and medium slow but seemed fast relative to other desert courses this late in summer. Full shots stopped very near where they landed for me. Fairways were fantastic in some spots and thin in others, but coverage was mostly good. Same for the rough. Tee boxes were acceptable. I think I was only in one bunker and it was not good: pretty compacted and crusty.

I had only played this course once many years ago and was pleasantly surprised to see it in a more mature state. I enjoyed it much more yesterday than I did my first time here. Definitely fun and worthwhile at the inexpensive rate we paid.

Round 4 of desert marathon with Itslikeimsayin. Well, we had time for one more so why not? $15 through Golf Now at 4:37, which again was a little cheaper than going straight through the course. Also here, the guy in the pro shop seemed to be discouraging us from playing even though it appeared both courses were pretty empty. He said a "steady stream" of players had been going off since 4:00 and it was a coin toss whether we'd finish or not. We headed right out to the first tee and played very quickly, never ever running into another soul on the course. We saw some people way ahead, but never came anywhere near them! I thought Tahquitz was in the best shape of all the courses we played today. The tee boxes were good and the fairways were mostly great. Just a few bad spots here and there. Rough was generally good. Not too penal, but enough to make you work a little more for a good shot. Greens firm and rolling the quickest of anything we played today. Not super fast, but definitely faster than they looked and what you can normally expect in late summer. There were some bad/dead patches around the edges of several greens, but nothing that came into play much. Bunkers had good sand, but again a lot of small rocks and pebbles in them. Second time playing this course, as well, and I enjoyed it plenty. I think this is an underrated desert track as it's a fun and diverse overall design with just enough challenging elements to keep you interested. I'll gladly play here again if the deal is right.

Played 36 on Thursday June 18th. $50 for two rounds per person including breakfast, lunch and 2 draft beers or soft drinks. It was 114 in the afternoon and no drink carts out but they warn you so you can load up the cart. There is water in a few places on the course which was nice to refill water bottles. We had a group of 14 and the treated us great. Staff should be applauded for the hard work they put in to make sure we were taken care of.
The course is in basic summer conditions with medium speed greens and they are very firm. There is a 3-4 foot dirt color around most greens, it looks like they are making the greens a little larger. The greens putted very nice.
Fairways were nice, a little thin in places, but very playable.
I don't remember much about the bunkers.
Rough was a little this in places, but they don't set this course up to be overly penal.
This a resort course and plays great with a good variety of holes. They are doing their part with the drought, the water features are all turned off.
We will return.
