Played Wed 12/27, 7:50 tee time as a 4 some, brisk morning, warm pleasant day. 4:30 round. Green speed posted at 9.5, which seemed about right, but as it warmed up and dried out they got up to a mid 10... I struggled to reach the hole the front 9, which lead to 21 putts, but then came back on the back with 13 putts once the greens sped up. Greens firm, with a lot of subtle ball marks. Big undulating greens. Course is mostly typical Palm Springs resort: wide fairways, clever bunkering and water features. A few holes were more narrow, a little bit of elevation change. A nice mix of reachable par 5s, long par 3s, short par 4s, and everything in between. Looks great. Bunkers in good shape: big and moderate depth. Not always cleanly raked. Lots of unfilled divots. Nice guy in the drink cart makes a mean bloody mary. Starter was very pleasant and friendly. Range seems like a great hang: couches, music, drink service, trackman... Had a great time.

Played the Celebrity course on Tues 8/23. Both of these courses are so well maintained. By far, the greenest courses in Palm Springs area.

Played the Celebrity course on Tues 8/23. Both of these courses are so well maintained. By far, the greenest courses in Palm Springs area.

The layout was phenomenal with a great mix of holes, a great variety of clubs off the tee box.

Greens were medium speed and rolled true.

I was amazed at how many waterfalls there were, I felt like every other hole had one.

Played with a person who knew the area and he told me that the designer of the Indian Wells courses also designed Eagle Falls in Indio which is another one of my favorite courses out there.

This will be on my list to play every time out to Palm Springs!

The Celebrity course has lifted its cart-path restrictions and the overseed looks great. The course (and backdrop) is beautiful. The greens are slow. The pace of play is even slower. We would return far more often if we knew that the course would ensure a brisk pace-of-play.

Played here 10/3 alongside GK member Kassper7 as part of the Troon Challenge: Indian Wells. The event went on without a hitch and the course played a big part in that, hosting us graciously in a well organized fashion. Indian Wells always does things right, even as they approach the fall maintenance closure. Only the second time playing Celebrity and I have grown to appreciate its quirks. Although conditions were not what you see at IW during winter, they were still plenty playable and good.

Tees: No issues noted. We all played yellow and the ground was good for what you needed. A few of the par 3 tee boxes were chewed up but no fault of the course.

Fairways: Good shape. They were still green with good roll and very good lies. No real issues here.

Rough: A notch below penal, more like gently approaching penal. The areas with more shade obviously had thicker rough, but it wasn't like you couldn't get out of it.

Sand: Was in two bunkers and although there was a good amount of sand, it wasn't the stuff I like (white and fluffy). No major issues here.

Greens: Good shape less than two weeks from closing. They rolled true and quick at times. If you missed a putt it wasn't due to terrible conditions.

ETC: As mentioned, Indian Wells is class for a reason! They treat you well here, facilities are outstanding, and the courses are excellent with wonderful layouts uniquely their own. I have seen Indian Wells in December so I know what it can look like, can't wait to come back then.

This is my favorite course to play in the Coachella Valley because its top notch in every respect, which is what you hope for when you pay a premium green fee. The clubhouse is grand, marvelous, and modern, and the golf shop is spacious and fully stocked with gear and apparel. The staff is also extremely courteous and helpful, from the bag drop, to the check-in, to the first tee welcome, to the welcome back after your round. Then, there's the course! The conditions are as close to perfect as one could reasonably expect. There are always going to be some brown spots in a fairway or on a green somewhere along the way, but that's easily forgiven, especially in summer. "Celebrity" features bogonvia bushes, that have red flowers. So there are splashes of wonderful color throughout the course. And there are lots of mature trees, beautiful and shady. And if you keep your ball somewhat in control, you won't find yourself with annoying tree trouble very often. I haven't played out of the bunkers much haha, but they can be deep. The sand isn't too thick, but there is sand in them. I don't actually like really soft sand, so these are good for me. The layout is terrific. One thing I absolutely do not like is playing holes lined by houses. This is pure resort golf...no houses! There is a good variety of holes; doglegs, long and short par 4s. Some shots play up or downhill, but not too much, maybe 5 yards up or down on a few shots. The back nine is particularly exquisite. After 12 (a drivable par 4) , you start a stretch of golf that is absolutely fantastic. There are numerous lakes, waterfalls, and even a stream weaving throughout until hole 17, and each hole is different. 13 is a short par 4 with a forced carry over water on the tee shot, then water green-side. Its not a real hard hole, but you can make a big score too, haha. Then the par 5 14th plays directly toward Mt Eisenhower. Epic back drop! There's a charming stream that winds about, and also makes the second shot layup a little tricky! Definite photo op on this hole. 15 is tough! It's a long par 4 with a lake that a long drive may run all the way through the fairway and go in. Beware! And then the second shot is pretty long, I think about 150 minimum to the center of the green, because remember that lake forces you to stay back somewhat off the tee. The 16th is a medium length par 3 with a waterfall green-side. So attractive! 17 is a long par 4 guarded by water greenside, and yes, there is a waterfall behind the green as well! I always think as I'm driving to 18 tee, how sad it is when a round on "Celebrity" ends. There are several water stations and comfort stations, to serve your needs. The beverage cart has keg beer! I highly recommend this course.

Played this round for my 40th bday gift to myself. Used this to try out my new Speedzone X driver (which i love).

Played Palm Royale the day before as a warmup (see previous review of that course). Stayed at Indian Wells Hyatt Regency for 4 days while playing out here and enjoying time with the kids.

Tee time at 12:10 on March 29, 2021. Showed up an hour early. Went to pro shop to buy kitsch, and was a kid in a candy store. Came back later and bought more kitsch the next day. Pro shop staff was really great and got me checked in easily.

When I dropped off my bag, staff was great, too. Sent me out to the range and let me know to go to practice green a few minutes before i teed off. Weirdly, the range was strange as there were only good targets for short clubs. Still, range was really nice, with callaway range balls. Went to putting green and putted a few. Practice green was very representative of the greens on course.

Went to starter and he was awesome. Best starter i have ever encountered. Really fun older gentleman. Could tell he really enjoyed what he did. Gave me some pointers and got me on my way. His first tee pointers got me par right out the gate, which was awesome.

As to course, tee boxes were perfect. Divots were filled nicely. Every tee box was nice and level.

Fairways were impeccable. Every blade of grass was placed perfectly. The color of green for the fairways was like nothing i have ever seen. Every day I stayed at the resort i saw ground crews maintaining the fairways.

Rough was exactly the same as the fairways. I did find a two desert areas and the bushes in those areas likes to eat golf balls.

The sand was perfectly fluffy without being too fluffy.

Greens were almost perfect. Rolled really well and not the least bit bumpy. Greens break much less than they look like they will. Also nice that most approach shots feed towards greens.

Even the water here was really nice. Just as beautiful as the rest of the course.

All told, the celebrity is every bit as good as i have heard. I already want to play again.

Played today @ 9am as a twosome joined by a single and finished in about 4 1/2 hours. Wife's favorite "pretty" course to play and it was in great overall condition today. We play almost all of our regular golf at Dos Lagos with its firm dormant fairways and playing Celebrity with its soft fairways was a treat for the approach shots. However, over half of my drives had no (or minimal) roll so the course played longer than the yardage for me anyway.
Tees, fairways, and bunkers were all in great shape. Greens were smooth and looked perfect, however, they rolled very slow today. We were constantly leaving putts short on the front and finally adjusted on the back nine.
Due to covid, they've eliminated valet service and you need to prepay online for your round but top level service mentality remains the same in all other areas.
Even though pace was rather slow and we waited on most shots, the course wasn't as busy as other normal holiday periods as many out of state visitors are not here now.
Looking forward to playing it again next year. Certainly recommended.

Played 12-14-20 with Rob, John, and Alex first out after about a 20 minute frost delay and finishing in a little under 4 hours. Tee boxes were lush. level and in real nice condition. Fairways were green and lush with nice lies and decent roll out. Rough was in good shape, not to long and lush. Was in one greenside bunker that had a good layer of well groomed sand. Greens were running medium pace, smooth and semi-soft. Very scenic course with a fun layout that's not to difficult.
