Nothing but compliments for Goose Creek. Played here Friday, easy check-in. I suggest to arrive 1 hour prior to tee time, to take advantage of the Best practice facility. (very) Large practice greens, (very) large chipping area, pitching area, 20+stslls for range ball hitting. The course is in great shape. Tee boxes are firm and level. Fairways are nicely mowed and firm, but not hard. Rough is in good playable length (1"-2". Bunkers have good quality sand, I know, because I was in several. Greens are med-firm and fast. The putts are rolling very true to what to see. A must play!

Walked as a foursome at 6:20 am about 3:45 hrs. I haven’t played this course for 5 years are so and it’s way more expensive than I remembered but man it’s a great course. The layout is interesting. The greens fair but nicely contoured. The holes have nice variety of long and shot holes and strategic decision making. Really enjoyed it and worthy the money.

I played here Friday, 8:50 am. Weather was perfect for golf!... I haven't played here in over a year, course is in top-notch condition for July. The tee boxes are firm and level. Some unrepaired divots, but no sand given (Convid-19). The fairways are mowed tight with firm and minor divot issues (no sand). The rough is a playable 1", some a little deeper, but playable. The course throughout have strategically place bunkers, to make you play with "course management" or you may go long and end up in unranked bunkers (Convid-19). The greens are rolling true with medium-fast pace. Very true to the cup. Highly recommend to arrive early to use one of the best practice areas I ever seen for a public course. Large putting area. Large chipping area. About 25 stalls for the range. There is also a short pitching green... Really fantastic facility for golfers! I recommend playing here, if you can!

A very rare mid afternoon round for me, as I almost always play first thing in the morning. Not used to playing in the heat, and definitely not used to playing in 4 1/2 + hours. On the plus side, it was a plus to get some roll out which is not typical in the early morning wet fairways, plus the ball does travel further in the hot weather, that said, I think I'll stick with the early AM golf.

Course conditions are pretty much what weber2323 covered in his review. Greens rolled well, quicker than expected, but still receptive. This place is always in great shape, which is probably why they can command the price. I remember when the Goose was the least expensive in this area, but I guess because of the course quality and conditioning, it can be expected. Hard not to love playing here at what ever they charge.

Played yesterday and tees off about 8:20 and we finished right about 4 1/2 hours. We were not a 2some so it felt slow than what it actually was. Everything is good right now. Greens were rolling deceptively fast but the rain from Monday did help soften them up a bit. There are some areas to n a few greens (collars I believe) that were considered GUR. I had a hard time judging how much chips would roll out. Some seemed to check and others rolled more than I thought but I think that was this golfers own problem.

Fairways are pretty good and nice to hit from. There are some bare areas and divots but overall generally good to hit from. I didn’t think the rough was very penalizing. I really don’t think it changed my shot selection.

I wasn’t in a bunker but they looked pretty good. Played the back tee boxes so they were very good since they were not used as much. I also don’t remember them changing the tee boxes to Roman numerals. The forward tees to back were I to IV, kinda different and unique.

Awesome practice facility and staff. I really need to get there earlier and take advantage of that. Nice big putting green and another separate chipping green. Grass range which is always good turf to hit of off. Can’t wait until I can get back up here.

On a side note I’m not sure how long I have been coming up here (10 yrs???) but I know from the first time until yesterday they have been doing construction on the 15. Are they ever going to get this thing finished in my lifetime?

Played 6/18 afternoon match with Deepsea14, and met Greg and Troy, for a fun round in good weather. The 'goose' is in good all around shape and still a good value.
Counted 4 greens today that had edge repair(sanding) happening, that likely won't affect play. Greg did Texas wedge roll over it on hole 11 without issue. I saw a couple high sided fairway bunkers with sprigs of grass growing through the sand that won't come into play, but catches the eye. #17 tee box is still giggle firm, you giggle trying put you tee into it, but improving and wont affect play. A threesome comfortably caught us on 5, the Marshall with his clipboard was between 5 & 6 and reminded us that we were 1 minute off schedule. He's a big guy with a clipboard, a nice guy and on duty...it just gave me flashbacks of my football coaches ;-) We picked up our pace. He's doing his job to the benefit of all that play this course, kudos. Hole 18(Eleanor), wasn't kind to us today...but I still look forward to making a birdie or even a par someday.

After multiple and ongoing tries to arrange a GK Cup match (various frustrations with weekend only; I’m out of town that weekend; I already committed to my Men’s Club) I went out to Goose Creek as a solo on Friday, 6/5 at 1:27pm for $60. The weather lately is so strange – Wednesday 6/3 was in the low 90s here, but by Friday afternoon it was high 60s, scattered rain (IN JUNE!!) and blustery winds in the 1-2 club range. I was matched with a walking single and we were caught on the 7th tee (#16 – they started everyone on #10) by an amiable 2-some, and we enjoyed a casual round in 4+ hours. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered bad conditions at Goose in 20 years playing here, and today was no exception. Greens looked great, held shots, and rolled at medium+ speed. Fairway lies were great. Rough around fairways was pretty short and playable. Only one tee was obviously sloped – we played IV (Blue). [Don't get me started on tee 'numbering'!] I wasn’t in a bunker. No water on-course but we saw the cart girl 2-3 times. Bathrooms are open. Marshall was monitoring play and filling divots (HOMBRE!). Pro shop open. Range and putting green now open, but chipping green was closed today. You can remove the flag from the inverted cup, but the big center post/flag ring will repel your ball if you come in too hot. Does that count as 'in'? Goose is always recommended.

Played June 1st in the morning. The range and putting green are now open. I always enjoy coming out here. I've told a lot of my golf friends about this course over the past years. I just wish I lived closer. Everyone friendly, always great conditions, fast pop and what I feel is the best finishing hole (at least in the top three) in southern California.
