Played in a GK Match play on Sunday 7/7 at 1pm. Goose was EMPTY. The pro shop said every Sunday after a holiday is like that. (good to know for future golfing!) We finished in 3 1/2 hours!! Course is in immaculate condition as always. I couldn't find fault with anything about the course. The bunkers looked hard packed but were actually nice and fluffy. Fairways beautiful Irish green with some roll power to them, rough was just rough enough, tees lush and level, greens rolled fast and true. Nice course in all aspects from the challenge to the conditions! For $49 on a weekend it's a treat (used Goose's own site to get the deal). Biggest down side was the food/drinks situation. Saw the cart girl about 3 times on the front- and NOT AT ALL on the back. Yes, it was a Sunday afternoon and dead and she probably wasn't making any money but still! :-) At least the course has ICE water about every third hole and that kept us hydrated in the heat. After playing we had to wait about 10 min to get anyone to come pull us a beer at the snack bar. When we asked the pro shop guy if he knew what was up his response was "they're around somewhere". Oh well. So go for the great golf and fantastic conditions- but bring your own libations I guess!! LOL I would always play here again- it's consistently great.

Played Sunday afternoon on 7/7/13. Got a tee time from the Goose Creek site for $49 at 1:05. Course was almost empty which is not normal for a Sunday. Course is in superb condition as always. Greens were a little bumpy but rolled true with good speed. Was only in 2 bunkers and sand was soft and thick. Saw the cart girl 3 times on the front 9 but not at all on the back. The one thing that I dislike about this course is they do not allow you to take carts to the parking lot. Not so bad when you arrive and have to carry your bag to the club house, but having to carry them out to the car after a round seems unnecessary. That certainly won't stop me from playing here again. This is a must play course and ranks no. 3 on my favorites and it will stay there.

Played today at 1:05 with GKers SBogey, CPennbo and Paisano. $49 internet special. Round lasted right around four hours, maybe a little less. Great pace today! This was my first time at the Goose and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Level, well-cut tee boxes, amazing fairways cut tight but lush, well-defined, even rough (not very penal), and smooth, fast greens. They did get somewhat bumpy as the day went on, which affected putts a little. Was only in one fairway bunker, it was just fine...plenty of sand and nicely raked. Other bunkers looked similar.

This course is loaded with character, with no two holes feeling similar at all. No homes next to fairways, you're out in the wild here. I had limited contact with the staff, but no complaints there at all. Good service. Not sure why it took me so long to finally play here...I'll definitely come back soon.

Is this course ever in poor condition? Great from tee to green, rough to bunker, waste area to water hazard. Been hot a while, and still looks great. Love the flatness overall of the course, easy to walk, although I rode. Easy to lose a few here with errant drives, so bring a couple extra. You do smell the cows for a hole or 2, but besides that, expect a nice paced, quiet round. Love it here.

Ah The Goose ! Hard to not like this place. Condition is always above average. Teed off right on time and finished right on four hours. I think that the reason everyone likes this course goes beyond the condition and how this course is managed. The fact is that this layout is wonderful. Interesting track which is scoreable but can jump up and bite you if you hit poor shots. The holes are interesting and challenging, but not unreasonably difficult.
Just a fun course to play - always enjoy my courses here, regardless of how a play.

I don't know what my rating score is going to come out to, but if it isn't high, it should be. After taking some time off to let my back heal, reset the batteries, and hopefully get rid of the new swing I'd been tinkering with, I needed a course that was in very good shape, but wasn't too demanding, which I'd heard about Goose Creek many times. They were $39 for twilight, which isn't too bad, and they were able to get me out right away. I don't know why I keep hearing that this course is very easy. The tee shots are not very demanding, but bunkers are well-placed in my landing zone (290-310) and I ended up finding more fairway bunkers than I have in the past year. The bunkers were by far their biggest shortcoming, but that isn't saying much, as they were still in pretty fair shape. The course is not very long, but the greens are tricky when it comes to approach shots. There were a lot of sucker pins that from 100 yards out or more seemed welcoming. I had some well-struck shots to the middle of the green that got sucked off into different bailouts. The greens almost played and looked like links courses. They punched a little while back, which somehow didn't affect playability. The only problem I had with them is that very few people fixed their ball marks, which is increasingly common. On the par 5 fourth, the group in front of us was playing excessively slow, and my buddy and I saw a patch of golf balls in the foliage on the left side off the fairway. I always like finding some junk shag balls, so we went in there. DO NOT GO IN THERE. We both got caught up in some poison oak that I didn't see at first. When we got out with our assortment of Pinnacles, Slazengers, and Top Flites that we paid dearly for, we complained that there wasn't a sign. There was, we had just walked past it. This round was capped with one of the best finishing holes I have ever played at a public course. A 460 yard par 4 that I went driver, PW, lipped out my putt from 12 feet for a satisfying par. If you want a good time on a very different, fun course, with just enough challenge to keep you on your toes, look no further. I will definitely be back.

Back at Goose this past Saturday 5/25 at 2:04pm tee time. Great rate of $44 since we booked through their site and still had a promo code from the LA Golf Show (about the only thing that show was good for lol!) Service in the pro shop was great as usual. We arrived early and was asked if we wanted to go out early. We gladly accepted and we're on the 1st tee at 1:45pm. Tees- Level and lush coverage everywhere, no complaints. Fairways- Perfect and provided great lies all day. Divots had been filled in nicely by crew and fellow conscientious golfers that actually care about their course for a change. Rough- Lush throughout and didn't see any bare or even thin spots. Bunkers- Was in one greenside bunker and it had great quality sand as GC always does. Greens- Only knock for me today and that's only comparing them to their usual standards. Compared to your average muni these would easily be a 9/10 or 10/10 but for Goose Creek they were still much slower than usual. Maybe it was due to the afternoon start? But it appears as though they are just taking longer than past years to recover from punching and are still a little shaggy. But honestly that's just nitpicking on my part. Customer Service/Facilities- Check in went smooth. Everyone from the cart guys, up front to the pro shop staff were very friendly and welcoming. Misc.- As is the case most afternoons in the IE, it was windy and for your allergy sufferers be warned that there is a LOT of pollen floating around the course this time of year so plan accordingly!

The course is in its usual top notch condition with the exception of a couple of greens that still show some signs of the punching. Nothing major and did not effect putts for me. Greens rolled nicely and true.
The bunkers have some new sand but the two I was in were still damp from the overnight watering.
Tee boxes and fairways were perfect in my opinion. Never had a problem finding a spot to tee off and. never a bad lie in the fairways I hit.
The rough is not to long and fairly easy to hit out of.
The is my favorite course and it never disappoints. I will be back again soon.

Played Thursday and course is in good shape. I was in 2 bunkers and both had sand. The greens held good shots and even a couple spun back a little. Had nice lies when in the fairway and the rough is just long enough to cause small problems. I wish more courses would keep the rough at 1-3 inches as longer rough slows down play. We were a foursome and finished just under 4 hours.
