I agree with amsmike,s review. The course was in very nice shape all the around.
One complaint I do have is that on the last 5-6 holes, a groundskeeper was just ahead of us and watered every green. This really changed the speed and cost me a couple of strokes with putts that stopped an inch or two short.

This course was quite challenging playing from the gold tees. If I go back I would move up to te blues.

A big thank you to Johnny for another enjoyable outing.

Its a journey to get to this club, but when you finally arrive, there is lush grass and everything is very green! I was excited for the round.

Nice large putting/chipping green area and grass driving range.

Tee boxes: Most were in great shape, however the par 3's were a bit chewed up. #17 was a bit different, the ground was so hard I could not put a tee in the ground.

Fairways: They were in excellent shape, lush grass and awesome!

Rough: In great shape with lush green grass.

Bunkers: I was only in #18 bunker. Nice sand and no complaints there at all.

Greens: Quick and rolled true. A few bumps here and there. However these greens are in awesome shape right now.

Kudos to the staff for this course being in such great shape. I had a great time!

Also, the food was great in the clubhouse and the staff was very friendly and courteous.

Played on Sunday 4/21 and teed off on time at 12:20 This course has a really nice layout and the greens are firm and fast. Keep the ball in play because rattlesnakes are out and biting! There was a babby rattler in the cup at 17! (thanks to the group ahead of us who alerted us) and we find out after our round that a golfer was bitten the same day on the 1st hole while searching for his ball. Since we were searching for our balls at various times we felt very fortunate!
Okay the course--A lot of tight tee shots if you play from the gold tees but good tee shots get rewarded with short to mid irons to the green. Fairways were in excellent condition. The bunkers I was in were just okay, could have used more sand. Overall a fun course to play but take extra balls and leave the errant shots to the snakes. Take the penalty drop and enjoy your round!

I played at 1:30 on a Sunday as a foursome. The course was empty which was nice considering I was playing with some newbies. Sorry for the group of one and two behind us who decided to pass us up. I will say, we kept a decent pace. 4 1/2 hours. The course was in very good shape. I love the layout. Not one fairway runs along another. Wide open space with great views. Probably the most peaceful round of golf I have ever played. This is a must play course for anyone. You will lose a lot of balls if your not straight. But at the same time, the course can be forgiving. The best part I think is that you can play from two different tee boxes depending on your skill. I played the blue/gold combo. You can also play gold/black and green/blue. Very cool. Here is my overall rating.

Tee Boxes: some spots were very hard but level and cut short.
Fairways: very green and firm. Not to many divots and very little bare spots.
Rough: nice and lush. Cut high at about 3 1/2 to 4 inches. Club up!
Bunkers: easy to get out of. Not too many high lips. With the exception of a few holes. The only down side, a lot of rocks and not a lot of sand.
Greens: medium to fast and not many breaks. Very firm with lots of divots. But did not effect my roll too much. They just need some TLC.

Once again, I really liked playing this course and would definatly return.

Looks like this course has quite a few recent reviews and my experience was fairly on-par with others. I'm going to put in my .02 anyways.

Played 2/2 around 9am. Got out just before a couple of tournaments. 3 some in front were beginners, but didn't have a problem with pace until the back 9. As others rated, the course was in great shape and I loved the layout. Tee boxes were flat, lush, and even cut into nice square shapes. Fairways were lush with a few brown spots that didn't come into play at all. Greens were hard and on the quick side. Some of the greens did have a good amount of divot damage, but didn't bother me.

Quick advice about the restaurant. Avoid at all cost! We had a bad breakfast and the worst chicken tenders ever. The chicken tenders were SO salty it almost killed us. The service in the pro shop was personable and we felt welcomed by the staff.

Overall, great course and experience. It's a long drive, but we will return.

I played yesterday and the course was jampacked! There was a 6some in front of us but it wouldn't have mattered if it was a 12some since the entire course seemed full. It took us about 5.5 hours to finish. For a golf course that I consider to be a little bit out of the way, I expected better.....maybe they squeezed too many tee times in? It really was hard getting into a rhythm when you're waiting so long on every shot but I digress. In terms of the course conditions....they were outstanding! Everything from the greens, to the fairways, and the tee boxes....they were all excellent. The course is off the beaten track and it usually makes for a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle experience. Many of the holes are tight so club selection is paramount. I haven't played this course in a little while but my previous experience helped a lot in knowing where I could miss. It looks like they took out the water on hole 6 so the tee shot is much more reasonable now. I used a group golfer voucher which was $37 and for a Saturday at that rate, I couldn't ask for a better track.

Great course, love this place. Conditions were fantastic as always. Challenging course, back 9 can eat up some golf balls. Regular price here is around $80, well worth that price but they always have ... Continue »

Great course, love this place. Conditions were fantastic as always. Challenging course, back 9 can eat up some golf balls. Regular price here is around $80, well worth that price but they always have deals here, got out Sunday for $42, absolute steal. Layout and conditioning is comparable to Journey for much less money.

Played 11/18 9:20 start. 4 hr. round. First time playing here and I really like this place a lot. Interesting, fun and challenging. A great mix of hilly, open meadow and mountain target golf. Great views and scenic holes. A great time of year to play this course. If you have never played this course, I definitely recommend adding it to your future play list.

Greens were fantastic. Med. fast and rolled well and not many ball marks or damage.
Fairway's were mostly green with some dry thin spots spread through out. Over all they were good and playable but not great.

The course plays a long 6,500 from gold T's. Many 400+ yrd. par 4's With one at 460 yards, and 2 par 3's at 190 + yrd.

Look forward to playing this course again. It was well worth the 1 hr. drive from San Diego.
