Played 9/7 11 am $55 POP 4:15. Decided it wasn't hot enough in Ramona so we headed up to Temecula !! Actually Cross Creek sits up in the hills and it was very warm but not bad. And with the breeze that was blowing is was fine. The course is in summer conditions like many. Fairway's mostly green & lush with numerous dry/dead spots mixed in. It was a 'roll of the dice" where your ball would end up. Most of the time I found lush grass to hit from. The greens were a mixture of great, good and F'd up. Over all they were fine with minor problems. A couple had large dead/dried out patches on the perimeters. Some had 'troubled' patches mixed in. But, most of the greens were in 'OK' shape. They were soft and receptive and putted at about med/fast with a decent roll unless your line was over a troubled area. Rough was pretty shaggy and penalizing or dry/dead hardpan. Many of the fairway's are narrow and sloping. You often paid a price for missing them with the shaggy rough. Less then driver is often the smarter shot to try and find the short grass. Many of traps were pretty hard sand/silt. The layout makes it one of my favorite courses. A great mixture of Mountain/meadow/links design. Over all I'd say it's in 'GOOD" shape

Played CrossCreek today with high anticipation. Forgot the red dot book and pro shop guy was nice enough to honor the 40% off rate for us, good enough and very kind gesture. My initial feeling here was great, not a sound to be heard, tucked way back in the Temecula back country, yet only 5-7 minutes off the freeway. Giant houses scattered in the distance on the hills with vineyards added to the natural beauty. Brent at the pro shop was terrific. If I owned a golf course I would steal him. Breakfast burrito may have been the best I ever had. Starter Steve also great. Got free range balls because they were running 10 minutes behind. They give complimentary yardage books. Nice new Yamaha carts, no GPS, coolers or cleaners. Saw cart girl once on front and back. Very nice and friendly, as was everyone, including fellow golfers. Pace of play very slow at just under 5 1/2. Guess just late Sunday stuff. 6 pin positions and multiple tee options and combos really help you play to your level. Holes very spaced out so you don't have any worry of cross play. They had nice hole signs with interesting quotes on the bottom of most. You can tell someone really put thought and care into this course. It is a hilly course, a lot of uphill/downhill holes. Tee boxes level, lush and some weeds and a lot of divots. Sand good, but heavy and a bit wet so more sand/mud than sand. Was in three and did get out with the SW but may have been better served with the lob. Greens were fast, receptive, nary a ball mark and really nice, minus just one back hole that had a lot of bare spots. Unfortunately after a couple holes ticked by, I seemed to notice the various types of grasses, crabgrass and weeds and some small to medium bare spots throughout. also fairways and tee boxes were quite long in my opinion. It pains me to say this because it really is a nice course that I would recommend and would play again, but conditions were more like a good LA county muni course than the "pristine golf" they have as their logo. Especially the back 9. Had a few lies just behind a clump of crabgrass or a bare dirt/wet dirt hole lie between clumps of grass. Please don't read this as the course is in terrible shape. It wasn't. It just wasn't the advertised "pristine". All said, I would say to check it out. It still was a nice day of golf and maybe the most relaxing course I've been to.

I have a couple buddies who have memberships so I get invited out often. I always enjoy this track and especially since new ownership came in a while back. Playing this course regularly has changed my game so much. It demands good shot making off the tee. You need to keep the ball in the fairway. If not, you are in rattlesnake country and be careful. It's a grind, but a fun grind and you need to stay focused. Not the course you go out and drink 6 beers while playing. It's made me a better golfer for sure. The staff is awesome a well.

I think the slope may be off as I played Gold tees which has a 132 rating but shot one of my better scores here in a long time. Had a groupgolfer voucher for $28 so I absolutely loved my day. Only complaint was the 5 hours on a weekday to play.

Amazing design in a gorgeous setting requiring a solid game. Perfect greens, lush all around and nicely manicured. A must play, and only 10 minutes from Old Town Temecula.
Our underpar.com voucher $59 for two, on Wednesday 8/7/13- 0830. Worth it.

11 am round for $44 GolfNow. First time playing here as was for the others in my group. This place isn't like anything in the North SD or North East County that I've eve played. It has a links feel to it as none (I think) of the fairways touch, totally carved from the natural landscape and lots of rolling undulation in the fairways. This course is quite difficult and considerable more so if you've never played there.

The front nine is easier than the back but still a challenge. Most holes have elevated greens so run ups are not possible. Ball placement is important however with many blind tee shots you will not no where to hit, unless you have a guide...Greens were quick and true. Service was fine, started was very friendly. No Cart girl but the place is so stretched out that doesn't surprise me.

Overall you have to play to see this unique place. No houses or roads around. Incredibly quiet and amazingly scenic. I'd have more fun and a better score the second time around just for shot placement. Play with someone who knows the course and you'll have a huge advantage and more fun.

We played 36 holes on July 25th. It's a long drive from Orange County, so it won't be in my regular rotation, but nice enough to visit every now and then. Course is in very good condition. Greens were nice, medium speed, and tricky. I must have had at least four three putts. Steady wind on a lot holes made club selection a challenge, and lots of uneven lies required you to think through every shot. I enjoyed the layout, and none of the holes had a similar look. The beverage cart made regular rounds. I didn't see much of the marshal, but it didn't matter because it was a good steady pace. Not a high service golf course, but the starter and pro shop guys were efficient. It took forever to get our grilled sandwiches made between rounds, so instead of a restful lunch in the clubhouse we had to eat on the run.

I have never seen this course in better condition. It was firm and fast.... green running about 11 and really fun to play. Great value at 25 bucks after 4 on a weekday. Finished 18 holes easily. The only bad thing are the bunkers which were very firm and need more sand added to them to make them more playable. Happy the course is am king a comeback from a couple tough years.

We played this course on Jun 22, 2013. Conditions were good and the fairways were great. Greens were not too fast, they were just right in my opinion. Just a few bumps here and there but nothing too serious. Roughs were well kept and tee boxes were just normal so called "wear and tear". Overall, it was a great round and worth the drive from LA County
