I played here yesterday, 11:15 tee off. Place is in very good condition. I don't know why it gets so much bad pub. I think it is a great course. The greens were in great shape I had a bunch of putts fall in from 10' range. The setup is good there are risk/reward type holes where you can go for the green in two on par 5's and reachable par 4's. we played 27 holes and finished right at dusk. The only thing they are missing is a driving range, clubhouse, pro shop...

After reading several conflicting reviews for this relatively new course in Corona, I decided to give this course a try with few buddies of mine - especially since this was one of the only course in the vicinity of LA and OC area that I was able to make a Sunday morning tee time for 3 on Thursday afternoon. Making a tee time was fairly painless through their website, and the green fee was very reasonable ($59 - a recent reduction from low $70's). We got there at around 6:40 am for 7 am tee time, since we already knew that there wasn't a driving range, and we were going to play "parking lot golf" We also knew there wasn't a club house or a restaurant on site, although there was a catering truck in the parking lot which I found helpful. The course looked just as depicted in the pictures in their website - newly built course with rolling hills and very little trees - almost link style with some hazards, especially in the tighter front 9. Fairways were in good shape with mixture of dormant grass - I'm no turf expert, so grass is grass. But, what's with their greens and what were they thinking when they designed the contour and the slope of the greens? Grass on the greens were mowed nice and tight, so the balls rolled better than any other courses I have played recently, but the undulation of the greens were to the point of obnoxious. Did they really need to put quadruple humps on a 238 yd par 3? Every green made me think of those bowling ball game in the arcade where you have to roll the ball over the hump and land it in the trough to win a stuffed animal. No one should suffer so much putting after hard work of getting the ball to the green. As many of us can attest, there is no fun in 3 putting, and these greens will definitely cause some anguish. Otherwise, I thought it was a pretty decent track with nice and helpful staff.

Place is in very nice shape, greens are smooth and tough to read, some quircky rolling mounds but fun and tough to putt on. Asked big guy in trailer if we were to start on #10, he said no, where did I hear that? I advised him I read it on this site, he said this site was always saying stuff that wasnt true about his course. Asked marshall on 1st hole if they started on #10 lately & marshall advised they did all last week. I dont think the big guy in trailer understands the number of folks that read this site. A good day of golf, not my favorite place but a good test. Only bad thing to report was they were spraying fertilizer and on #18 the guy sprayed me as I was hitting 2nd shot. That was fun! Front side was empty, back side was crowded, all those goofy hillside holes slow things down.

Played Dos Lagos today for the first time and enjoyed the course. Played early and few golfers were on the course so completed 18 holes in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Like it that way. Easy to get to the course and good parking. No club house but a trailer and nice prota potties (even had flowers). No driving range but a small practice putting green. So nothing fancy to start with but the course made up for it and that is why we play golf. The tee boxes were ok, I thought the grass was too long and it was hard to place the tee but the rest of the course was great. The Fairways were in good condition, the snad bunkers were not a big challenge but the sand was soft and well drained. The greens were in excellent condition a little slow but way faster than most and a challenge to get to the hole due to the undulations and mountain affect. The front nine was tight but playable if you hit fairly straight. The long hitters will have a little problem if not in the fairway. Hit the fairway and you will have a great score and won't lose any golf balls. The back nine is open but some holes are greatly elevated, fun. I will be back to play Dos Lagos again. Oh! did I mention the price was very good.

I read on here a lot of bad reviews for Dos Lagos and I was a bit timid at first to go and play. I played here today and we started on #10 because they said they are going to start doing that because of the lack of a driving range and not being able to warm up. After playing the course I understand why now. The back nine is pretty wide open and reminds me of the Mountain Course in La Quinta, and the front nine is very narrow, with little turns in the fairways that can get you in trouble, and a few blind tee shots, and approach shots. I only hit driver a few times on the front, and a couple irons, and 3 woods on the others. The customer service is top notch, and all the staff is very talkative and friendly. The course was in really good shape, and the greens had a little sand left over, but rolled true and pretty fast. I have to say that I liked this course and there is a lot of good holes, and 3 tricked up holes. #6, 7, and 16 are very, very tricked up, and other than those holes I really liked the layout. Definitely worth the greens fee, and I will be going back there soon.

The greens are still recovering from recent punching, but they were surprisingly quick. (The sand was a pain, having to clean the ball after every putt. (early morning so the moisture causes this problem, I'm sure later in the day it's not so bad) The fairways were rather thin, so got lots of roll, made the course play much shorter. Not my favorite course, but got out early and played fast, enjoyed the quick pace. Still think #6 is one of the tougher par 4's I've played. (Particularly with a back right pin)

My 2 complaints would be I would rather play the Back 9 first the the front and i would like to see The rough at a more consistant level. There were too many clumpy patches that made it hard to chip around the green, but i should probably have stayed out of it.

We teed off today at 11am and were done by 2:15pm.....great pace after we passed a group on the fourth hole. The course has definately survived the summer heat and is in pretty good shape. The greens were great....fast and smooth.
Now the downside, not one water station on the entire course had water buckets in them. Considering the temperature today was 100....inexcusable. They had quite a few workers throughout the course keeping things looking good. But these guys must think they work in a park, not a golf couse. There were countless times we would be addressing our shots or putts and they would dive by just 15-20 feet away. One guy actually laughed at me when I gave him a look. I know at Sierra Lakes, the maitanance people get the game of golf and will stop when they see someone is near.
