Out early in the dark at 5:55 Monday on a really pleasant morning. Rather busy, so nice to get out ahead of the crowds. (Despite the fact it was pitch black out and I could not see until #4, there was a single and twosome in front of me) Dealing with Ruth in pro shop is always a positive way to begin the day here.

I was impressed with the overall condition of the course, particularly the fairways. Greens were good, (Except the rear portion of #5) but slower than I remember them being. Bunkers were thin but were maintained. Always enjoy my rounds at Dos Lagos, and compared to other courses, still decently priced.

Played Dos Lagos with friend Tuesday, first time for him and I told him he would do great as his tee shots are down the middle (he did 80) Course is in good shape as far as most lies are good in fairway and greens are nice and full. Bunkers have more sand then most public courses. Just seems to play a lot longer than score card says, the 6 par 3's and two short par 4's are nice but long par 5's do play long. (from Whites). Course was fun, no houses within reach and some wide open fairways on the back nine.

Nice to get back out to Dos Lagos. It had been almost six months since I last played here. As always, Ruth in the pro shop was a joy to deal with. What a great way to start the day with such a positive person to deal with prior to your round. It was rather busy this morning, but able to get out early thanks to Ruth and finished in 2:19.

Course is not in as good condition was when I last played, particularly the greens, which were kind of slow and did not roll very true. Fairways were nice, however. Several of the tee boxes, particularly #16 were in desperate need on being resodded. Enjoyed the round despite my poor play. Always good to begin the week on a positice note.

Played Dos Lagos 8:30 AM on Monday, May 5th for $52, on a cold, rainy day to start. Check-in was very easy and fast - let us go straight to the box after paying. The starter was very nice and let us go out as just a two-sum. I assumed this meant the course would be pretty open on a rainy Monday morning but boy was I wrong. Ended up waiting on basically every shot for the front 9. Took 2:30 to complete and was not super enjoyable. It seemed as if there was one group that was slowlying the front up but no marshal in sight. The back nine went by a lot quicker and picked up but I still think a marshal was needed. As for the course itself, the greens had been punched a few weeks ago and were just starting to heal up nicely. They were still pretty bumpy but rolled well and were pretty quick in some areas. Fairways were probably the best part as they were well maintained with not that many dead spots. Bunkers were wet all day but sand felt fine. Tee boxes were okay for the most part with some weird line up. The 5th hole green was either under repair or had just been recently damaged, as there were massive dead lines throughout the green. Overall I think $52 is a little steep for this course considering the condition and POP.

Played a five hour round finally after having been given it by my wife some five years ago. The clubhouse is a modular which does the job. No driving range and/or real practice green. The carts are very basic with no gps or windshields. You'll wish you had a windshield with all the flies, gnats, mosquitoes and bees you encounter on the front nine. The tee boxes were all level and in pretty fair shape with some being a little thin. The rough is really short or missing with the many forced carries from the tee on the front and back. The fairways were all really great with nice coverage and some Bermuda dormant and not. The grass was fluffy enough on most lies except nearer the greens where you find firm tight lies! The fairways do provide for very good roll out on low shots. There were sections of the course that were soggy and muddy from lack of irrigation management. The traps were all damp with some having compact sand and others filled with the decent fluffy stuff. Hitting a shot from the traps can be an adventure. The greens still showed signs of aeration but were not too bad. The greens held shots nicely and rolled pretty well with a bump here and there. The greens had some elevation changes and were all pretty large. Many shots into them can be blind or semi blind and deceiving without having played here before (which we had not). The water does come into play on a several holes with the fairways being sloped towards the hazard. The views and vegetation here reminded me of Twin Oaks and Eagle Crest (Dos Osos) in San Diego county at a much more reasonable rate. I found that booking a tee time here can be difficult especially on the weekends. When we made the turn there were three groups waiting to tee off. The location and course rates do make this a great place to play. Recommended

Arrived at 6:10am and noticed people already heading towards the 1st tee, so off I went flashlight in hand. Let me tell you it was pitch black at that time. I really did not see my first shot until the par 3 fifth hole. (I might mention I was not the first out either) The greens still have not totally recovered from the punching, and were a bit bumpy, but had surprisingly good pace. Generally, the course was in overall nice shape. I had a lot of maintenance on the back nine, so my experience was not as positive as it usually is playing here. The best part of the day was traffic returning home was great. What does that say about everything?

Played Dos Lagos on 10/3. In all, it is a fun course and in decent playable condition for the price. Greens are soft and roll mostly true, but can get bumpy at time with ball marks and footprints. Fairways are generally good, with some thin/hard areas but still good enough. Rough is varied, nasty where they get water.

And I agree with the last couple of reviews - #6 is just a bad hole. There is just no place to safely hit a drive on a 420 yard hole. Next time I may just hit a 5w short of the trees and pond, and hope to get a 3w near the green. Outside of that bad hole, I enjoy the rest of the course.

I have been wanting to play here again for some time. Webers review pointed out aeration so I went down there this morning. Got out with the first 2 with the civil twilight just coming up. His review is right on the mark however we found the greens to be very speedy the whole round. And I am totally on board about hole # 6 which to me is one of the most unwelcoming golf holes I have ever played. 14 is a par 5 614 from Blue and 597 from white and add in the severe uphill you have to climb to the green it might be better off being a par 6. And be aware that the Sr rate is $42 but only M-Th. On Friday its $50. The other benefit I found by playing here is that if you like Trader Joes there is one right across the street in the plaza so you can stock up for the ride home. I would recommend it if you have never played here. But get an early time as the place was packed when we finished at 9:30.
