Mid morning round in about 4.5 hours. The place is so spread out even if you're going at a decent pace that is about the time it will take to complete a round. The weather started out cloudy and windy with a threat of rain but at the turn the sun emerged and the wind died and it was hot and muggy. The staff is always very helpful and friendly inside and out. The practice facilities are excellent and a joy to use if you arrive some time ahead of your starting time. They have new robotic ball pickers on the range which I was told were 40K each. Evidently though they are very slow and miss many of the balls. The carts are holding up well with fairly accurate GPS and speakers. The tee boxes were in perfect shape with a broken tee here and there but great. The rough was thick but it was dry and easy enough to find your ball. Hitting from the rough if you had a good lies wouldn't cost you any yardage but if the ball was sitting down it was another story. The traps are always in perfect condition from the practice area to the fairways and greens. I did not find a trap today but used the practice traps which were a little damp. The greens are almost perfect with a few ball marks here and there but few. The greens appeared to have more break than they actually had today. Putts held their line well and a good speed but slower than in past rounds. The greens are so large that three putting is always an issue. There are many long drives between hole and numerous blind shots and forced carries that really test your game. I always love to play here and highly recommend that if you want a challenge to pay the price. I lived within a couple of blocks of the casino and course years before it was built and still remember hiking through what is now the Journey course to the top of the hill. Great views still.

Out at 11:30 on Sat using the gold player's card got us the $140 rate compared to the rack of $210. They are pricing the normal people out but they still sell out every weekend time. I guess I would rather pay $140 than lose it in the casino. Staff from bag drop, check-in, and Starter were very friendly as always. We had a really good breakfast at Journeys End restaurant. The practice area was on grass today which is the first time in a long time that has happened.

I teed off right on time, but the overall pace was slow at 5 hours. Although I didn't like the pace, it's almost normal for any golf course on a weekend. Course conditions were fantastic like every other time. The fairways are almost fully out of dormancy and played with a nice cushion. Rough was thick and very penal overall, especially around the greens. The greens were micro-punched a few weeks back and were rolling very well. I would say one more week until they are in perfect shape. The sand was nice and soft and no issues.

This is a fun layout and I highly suggest playing here if you get a tee time. Also, note they have now switched to 30-day tee times so you don't need to be online at midnight 7 days in advance anymore.

Finally able to snag a weekend tee time. The gold card rate is now up to $140 which is the 2nd time in the last 2 years that they have raised it. Use to be 100. Rack is now $210 on the weekend which is very steep however the course was in the best shape I have ever seen it.

From tee to green the course is in stunning shape. Lush and level tee boxes with plenty of options to choose from. Fairways were a 10/10 carpet cut to just the right length. Rough was thick and penal a few locations especially greenside on #7 were a little mushy from the watering but nothing too bad. The sand was wet to start the morning but dried out by noon. Greens were medium soft and ran pretty quickly, they allowed some check to spinning shots and I would rate an 8/10. Nice carts with GPS and Speakers and the cart girl was around twice on the back nice. Please note she does not drive around the front nine as 6-9 are in the hills and they had a cart girl flip one.

I absolutely love the layout with a very good mix of long and short holes and good elevation changes. If you can get a deal it's 100% worth a play. Especially in its current condition.

Must have just missed SD3BS as we had the 10am tee time yesterday. The 945 was a group of 3 guys who looked like they had never played before but they dropped balls next to the one who hit the fairway. They let us pass on 2 and we never saw them again. We didn't catch anyone until hole 14 but still finished in about 4 hours.

I would have to agree with Scotts review the fairways were just perfect today. Great roll and ample cushion to hit off of. Greens were spectacular as well smooth medium fast and receptive. There were some fun pin locations yesterday which was a nice change as most of the time they just leave the flags in the middle of the greens. Holes 3 and 5 was up on the back shelfs for the first time I have ever seen them. Adds a little difficulty on what in my opinion is a very scoreable course. Rough was mostly uniform with a few areas a little longer causing some issues, mainly on the par 3's.

We saw the cart girl twice and a ranger with a cooler full of water a few times. Practice facility is great except the range is off mats, the chipping area was a little wet from watering but still nice to practice. The putting green matched the speeds of the course so that is always nice as well. Premium Carts with GPS and Bluetooth speakers are super comfortable to ride in. The Gold players card (2nd tier) rate is $100 and that is an absolute steal for this course. With the condition the way they are right now even the rack rate of $200 on the weekend is worth the money. Highly Suggest.

Mid morning 4.5 hour interesting round. Staff is always super friendly especially on course. The carts and practice facilities are the best. Tee boxes were all level with nice coverage and plenty of divot mix. The rough was near perfect and just thick enough to stop offline shots. You were able to locate and hit from the rough with pretty good success. There are forced carries on many of the holes which makes having the perfect rough helpful. The fairways were in the best condition I've seen them in over the years of playing here. There was complete coverage with not a thin or dry spot from start to finish. The length of the fairway turf was great and made hitting from it so nice. The bunkers here are all manicured perfectly with just the right amount of white fluffy sand to hit from. The greens today were slower than I've ever encountered but very consistent. They are all very large and were holding shots well with not much roll out. There are many that have elevation changes with lots of slope which can be challenging for some. The weather started out with 25 mph winds changing direction from hole to hole. Luckily the winds died out at the turn then the heat came on up to 97F at the end of the round. The winds do usually blow on this side of the valley but generally don't pick up until the early afternoon. The forced carries and water features make for the greatest test of shot making in the area. The views and course conditions always make a round here enjoyable. The rates are equal to experience with what is offered in the local area. Always easy to recommend!

Finally got back out to Pechanga last weekend with Rudyclub and Fastfish433. Their tee time server has been down for 2 months and the only way to get a tee time is to call in. Well that has been nearly impossible on the weekends so I was happy to finally snag a 10:45 weekend time. Using my gold card we all go the $100 rate which is much better than the 180 rack. However due to the conditions I can see them justifying the high rack rate. I have not seen Pechanga this nice in a long while. Lush from tee to green with fairways cut a little on the short side but ample cushion for approach shots. Rough was thick in some areas but the ball seem to sit up most of the time I even had one shot where I cut under the ball as it was sitting up on the 3-4 inch rough. The greens were faster than I have every encountered there I dont have a stimp number but it took 2-3 holes to get use to the speeds. POP was good and we saw the cart girl multiple times. I just love this layout and with the gold card rate I would not hesitate to play here.

They did just punch the greens so maybe wait 3 weeks to head out.

Wind picked up a little mid day which can make some of the back nine shots a little interesting. Fairways were green & cut a little on the tight side, but they played great. Greens were in great shape. Very fast. Never seem them that fast before. Took a few holes to get accustom to the speed. They rolled true and were receptive to well struck shots. Rough was green and lush, but caused little to no issues. Traps consistent and in great shape. Parking lot was full. When we teed off there was no one in front of us or behind. We cruised through the first 5 holes and then caught the groups in front of us at #6. From there on there was some minor waiting, but not to bad. Love their warm up/practice area. I wish I had gotten there a little earlier to take advantage. The course is in over all great shape and a easy recommend.

Played TWICE on 7/17. Before I begin, I should issue a major disclaimer that they had aerated the greens a few weeks prior--which I was made aware of--so they were not quite healed yet.

This place is awesome! First time visiting, and was very impressed. Everything is perfect, from the course to the service to the restaurant. They limit tee times here, so pace of play isn't an issue. Greens were a bit bumpy and slow due to the recent aeration, so that was a bummer, but it makes me want to come back and play it when they are at their peak. Otherwise, course conditions were just as you'd hope they would be, on par with any private, resort, or high end public course. That includes the service, which was top-notch, with super nice carts and unlimited free water, ice, and towels (which helps, cuz it gets hot), plus free tees/ball markers/bag tags, and the most frequent beverage cart service I've probably ever seen.

The layout was great, with all different types of holes, elevation changes, great views, and five sets of tees for all ability levels. Just professionalism everywhere you look. Definitely justifies the high price tag, especially if you can get a deal. Add it all up, and this is a bucket list course, not just in the Temecula area, but anywhere in Southern California.
