Had the opportunity to play today as tee times are getting harder to find. As I approached the course noticed that the entire clubhouse had been tented for fumigation. Course was busy, as everything was being conducted outdoors. Was told that tent should be down and operations back to normal in the next couple of days. Teed off 10 minutes behind scheduled tee time but we were able to finish in about 4.5 hours. Course is being overwatered and lots of muddy areas off the rough. Greens have been sanded and are running fast, which did not make sense due to the sand.

Played Tues January 5th at 750, check in was very fast. Haven't played the north course for 2 months (we have been playing south gold tees) and we decided to play the whites on the north today. They had all the white tee boxes moved back so definitely played alot longer than listed. We may consider playing golds here next time. There was alot of fog and it lasted for the first 5 holes. Slowed the first 5 holes up as we could barely see the guys on the green from 120 yards. The course was in good shape, greens rolled fast especially on down hill putts. Tee boxes were fine and fairways were ok, many of the traps actually had good sand in them, the one that didn't was the trap on the left of hole 17, and of course I bladed it over the green LOL. POP was 420 and most of that can be blamed on the fog. Because of our age and our limited driving distance there are several par 5 holes on the north that play up hill and long and there are 3 par 4 holes that are over 380 and a few up hill, so we may be better off trying the golds next time as we do on the south.

First-ever non-tournament round at Los Serranos' north course this weekend and it was a fun experience overall because the venue and staff there does such a good job of accommodating people - in this case my monthly golf group who were so thankful to the course for our last outing last month on the south course that we decided to send them our business once again. The north course is not the lengthy behemoth its sister south course is, but it does have its fair share of challenges, mostly in the form of elevations (requiring precise club selection), large bunkers guarding the green complexes, and some challenging narrow tee shots with very target-specific landing areas. Our group always plays from the white tees but it was still a good test of golf on this track. Current conditions are interesting. I found a lot of good lies but visually the course does not look like it's in its best shape. There are plenty of burned out or dirt areas but they're mostly off the fairways or adjacent, but it's by no means super lush right now. Rough is a mixed bag like it is at most courses this time of year. Continuing the visual aspect, the bunkers did not appear to be very playable, but every bunker splash came out nicely and did the job. Same holds true for the greens - visually a little underwhelming and you would think they were slow as molasses, but it's just the opposite. They're actually very quick and can get away from you very quickly if you're above the hole (which happened to me quite often). But once you work the speed out, you'll find them rolling quite true and holding shots well. Carts were in nice shape with a good GPS system attached to them, and not once did it shut down for being in the 'wrong' area - I appreciate that! There was no cart service for the whole day which was disappointing, but the snack shop between the 12th and 13th holes atop the hill was open and has everything you could ever need, including very nice service from the staff - thank you for that! In summary, Los Serranos' north course is currently playing far better than its outward appearance and is a pretty fun track to enjoy a day out. They go above and beyond for you and your guests and should be rewarded and applauded for the great work they do, especially in difficult times like these when golf is at a premium and they probably don't need to go that extra mile to keep busy. (Not sure why my rating came out so low (likely due to the 'visuals' but I would definitely say this rating should be more between 5.5 and 6.0)

Saw GKer chevelle’s review from the previous day and was concerned about the conditions we might find playing with my monthly club on Saturday, 10/10/2020, at 10am on a cloudy, muggy Saturday morning. We got some breeze on the back nine to take the edge off the muggy heat. While the course was still well-watered at that time of morning, conditions weren’t sloppy wet or interfered with play or travel between shots. We saw scattered muddy areas but those were easily avoided. Greens were pretty soft and held shots, and not as much runout in fairways as my game needs. Tees playable, rough generally short, but traps were wet and heavy and mostly base, not much of a playing layer.

The course was wide open in front of us, as we didn’t finally catch the group ahead of us until the 14th hole – don’t know why there was such a big gap in the tee times. Last few holes played slower as we were waiting for the first time, and overall finish was about 4.5 hr. With two courses operating, there was confusion regarding getting carts assigned (just ahead of tee times) as players were trying to get clubs on carts ahead of time. $10 for a separate single cart is much more reasonable than the $30(!!) we paid at Glen Ivy earlier in the week.

Good GPS has distances to the pin location. Range and putting greens open. Snack bar on tee #7 closed, but on tee #13 open. Outside patio seating available.

Played Fri Oct 9th at 730. Check in easy none contact and paid with credit card. You don't get a cart until 10 minutes before tee time, i think there are pushing for 2 rider carts. Course was way too wet, Fairways, rough and greens, only 2 greens showed any sign of punching and they were slight they rolled fine. Driving range open, both putting greens open.

Played Fri Sept 11th at 8am. Made a reservation in person on tues sept 1st for 5 groups, for south course, thanks to masks, they misunderstood and only gave us 1 tee time when confirming this week, so they put us on north, which was just punched. Check in was fast but they now do not let you just load up your cart, you have to ge called to load your cart, this slows things down, but my opinion is they are running out of carts and are really wanting people to do 2 people per carts. Since the north was just punched, you really want to play the south, very large holes and when the ball hits the green and bounces it kicks up sand, very slow and the ball will take a 45 degree turn right at the hole when it hits the holes, POP was slow at 4:31

Played Tues aug 18th at 650, got out on time, was not as stacked up at hole 1 as it has been, not sure if it was the early time or the heat, thinking it was the heat. POP was 4:10, better than last time but still a bit slow. Tee boxes good, fairways not bad, a little wet as they were over watering for the heat, bunkers not great was in 4 in 5 holes, greens receptive and soft, always a ball mark to repair, a little slower than usual, again over watering for the heat, putting green open, but 99% of time the driving range is closed on Tuesday early, they open up later than our early tee time. Had a great driving day 13 of 14 fairways but had 4 three putts, bad day putting, speed was an issue.

Played LS North on 7/28. Course is in really good shape.

Greens are super healthy, great coverage. We played early, so about half of the greens had not been cut yet which made them slow and a bit bumpy. The greens that were cut were near perfect. Fairways are quite lush. As usual out here, the rough is very hit and miss, but if you are close to the fairway you should get decent grass. Bunkers were in good shape, a bit muddy but playable.

The tees are a bit rough at times, but not usually an issue.

In all, LS is well above normal, and a great bargain these days.

Played Fri jul 24th at 654, check in fast , got out on time, you now have to sign out for cart again, not sure why, but this slows everything up at the starters shack. The course is very busy between 615 and 745, many many players. The course is in real good shape, everything pretty nice , the greens were real nice. The first 3 holes played faster and we thought things would go faster but was wrong, they really slowed up and again at 8 and stayed slow. POP was 431, FYI, we finished close to 1120 and there were no carts waiting, looks like they ran out of carts, so if you have a later tee time, think about that. We have the players card for weekday and for $37 senior a good value.
