Played with my buddies on 12/1. I would echo the statements of Andrew and DConnally and their experiences with the North course recently.

On the practice greens, the speed was very quick and when we played I was leaving everything short which was frustrating.

Really like the layout of the course, the condition of the course were just okay, maybe from the rain we had the week prior (giving them the benefit of the doubt)

Played with my monthly club at 7:45am on Saturday, 11/16/19, on a chilly morning that warmed up quickly under clear sunny skies with almost no wind. After seeing GKer Andrew1’s review from last weekend I was concerned about what conditions we would find.

The course certainly wasn’t in pristine shape but it was generally playable. Overall, the course is very wet and there are many areas that need to be avoided. Many mushy areas and areas that had been heavily damaged by tires rolling through the muddy soil, whether carts or course equipment.

Greens were in pretty good condition, although bumpy. They were fairly firm and held high shots, rolling at a medium pace. Only the green on hole #17 was problematic – the green was very wet and badly showed shoeprints and spike marks everywhere. Fairway lies were variable between lush and bare dirt. Rough was similar – you could find fluffy 2” grass or dried hardpan. Tees were torn up mainly from being so wet and damaged by shoes and spikes. Many were moved forward from the yardage plates, and often were uneven and bumpy. Greenside bunkers usually had adequate sand, although the right front bunker on hole #18 had almost no playing layer. Fairway bunkers were generally just dirt.

Even at this early hour the pace was 4.5+ hr. Carts have an interactive GPS that shows the hole location, but our cart had the wrong program, apparently.

OK for a casual round.

Played today on the North side. Want the truth? Well here it is. Front 9 of the North was in terrible shape. The course is putting way too much water on the fairways which is creating large Mud damaged area's on
most of the Fairways. The Course also had most of the tee boxes moved forward to the Reds. The greens were absolutely terrible, to many bumps like if the greens were Not cut. Terrible ! The Back 9 had almost the same issues but with some of the fairways in better (not great) condition but yet tolerably. Greens a bit better. All around condition of the North Side today was poor. I should of played the South. I heard it was in great shape. There it is Gk players. Now you know before you go.

Played Fri Oct 4th, at 714, breakfast is great, we play here alot and our waitress pampers us. LOL we heard the north was aerated on the 23rd but decided to play, greens were recovering nicely but are about a week or so away, they were very soft, holes were healed but roll was rather bumpy, grass was longer and very slow. The rest of the course is fine and I was in 2 bunkers and they actually had nice sand. As i am older i really do prefer the north course to the south course.

Like Chevelle I also played the north side on Friday the 23rd. Teed off at 6:30 am and the pace of play was very good. I agree with everything "Chevelle" said but I might add that the Snack bar after ... Continue »

Like Chevelle I also played the north side on Friday the 23rd. Teed off at 6:30 am and the pace of play was very good. I agree with everything "Chevelle" said but I might add that the Snack bar after the 6th hole par 3 is still closed for renovations and I might also add that the large Sand bunker on 18 on the right side is being taken out (thank goodness). It's been leveled out and it has "ground under repair" signs I guess until the grass grows in. The biggest complaint I have about the North side is that they are watering the North too much, so many Wet spots and Mud. So there it is just letting you " know before you go"

Played Fri Aug 23rd at 710, check in always fast and friendly. I play here every week but it has ben 4 months since I reviewed the course so decided to write one. Got to the starter and the course was packed. Watched (3) 4 somes tee off and knew it was going to be a long day. POP was 4:20, long not good for us. Tee boxes were ok as normal, no problem finding a flat spot, we play the whites and some of them were moved back. Got to the 1st fairway and it was very wet in places and there were muddy tires tracks thru them, found that to be the case on many fairways. The rough was very long and wet and penal. Bunkers are always wet and hard here and this was the case today. Greens were very ball marked up. It shouldn't have surprised me after watching the groups in front of us tee off on #1 must have been some outing and don't think the were avid golfers. Once you fixed the ball marks they rolled failly nice. They stopped charging for the cart gps, it is a good thing as it freezes up allot, just remember if it happens to you, on the front of the unit on the drivers side there is a toggle switch, pull down, wait a few seconds and turn it back on, most of the time this will reboot it and it will work. Having the club card this is still a great senior price to play here.

Played last Sunday starting at 10:30. South Course was packed. Went off as a single on the North. After the first hole a foursome let me through and I followed a twosome the rest of the round. Course was in pretty good condition. No complaints at all.

Surprised that I was done in 3 hours on a Sunday morning.

Don't forget to play the par 3 19th hole which is just west of the 18th hole on the North and northwest of the 10th tee on the South.

played today with "turbo4gio" a New Member to the GK family. They are soaking this North side course with too much water. Almost reluctant to take a divot out for fear of getting a face full of MUD. Greens were receptive and true. Pace of play was just a little over 4 hours. Only draw back was that they had the Driving Range closed all day for maintenance work. Hard to get this body started when your not warm up a bit.
