There was quite a disparity between the quality of different parts of the course, with the best being the fairways. I thought they were in great shape. The tee boxes and bunkers were a different story. They are manicured in a haphazard way it seems, a rough around the edges look. The greens were in ok, to some of them being very nice. It was strange how some greens were better than others. The slopes and shapes of the greens are very similiar to the ones at Menifee Lakes. I like this layout and will play it again.

The more I play here the more I like playing here. I like the variety of holes. However, they really need to get rid of the fairway bunkers on number 6 and the fairway bunker on number 16. They are right smack dab in position A of where you want to be in the fairway if the bunkers were not there. The course is in great condition with only minor maintenance issues, mostly with some tee boxes. This is a course where an eagle can be made or a quad can be made. A rewarding course that can quickly sink your ship if the quality of your shots decreases.

This course has done an about face 180 degree turn for the better since 4 months ago. Everything is nice. I really enjoy this course even if I can't putt. They have been watering in recent months and it shows. If conditions stay about the same as now I will play here more next year. The 17th hole is one of the best par 3's around.

Of the Hesperia, Green Tree, and Apple Valley courses, Apple Valley is in the best shape out of all three. It was hard to believe I was in the desert as this course was so lush. The greens are 90% healed from the aerification, but are slow. Someday I would like to play here when the greens are faster. go in!!!!! aah lipped out The course is easy to walk. However, very few holes out here are flat. There always seems to be a hole going slightly uphill or downhill. I hit driver on all par 4's and 5's as there is room for error a bit off the tee. You see Joshua Trees on the front 9 in the rough areas and the back 9 in the fairways. Sorry Johnny I forgot my camera. On 5, there is a hidden pond short and right of the green. Other than that what you see is what you get on this nice golf course.

With all the internet deals this place was rather crowded today. As I saw many groups tee off I front of me I knew it would be a round of a lot more than 4 hours. And it was. The course is in good shape. The fairways being the best. They will aerify early next month so be aware. The "new" 18 just like the old 36 holes is a tougher test of golf than you might think if umfamiliar with Green River. I have played here many times since my first time in 1990 and this is one course where I never go really low. There is always next time!! I quit golf until tomorrow.

I can't stand it any more. This course will be a once every two year affair. The tardiness of our tee by 30 minutes and the slow play on the front 9 (almost 3 hours)has made me not to want to play here often any more. It's too bad to because the conditions of the course are great. The head greenskeeper here has got to be one of the best around. Given the amount of play this course gets and to have these greens day in and day out in great condition speaks volumes about the superb maintenance staff here. But slow play has ruined it for me here.

The greens are slow and a little bumpy. The tee boxes are in bad shape. The rest of the course is in good shape. The man working the starter/pro shop was very nice and helpful. I do wish the greens were better. But I paid only $19 to walk to diffuse the situation.

I have not played here in 20 years. It is not a difficult layout. But many hazards and OB will grab your attention. The greens are much tougher on the back 9. 4 of the 5 par 5's are very short but not gimmie birdies. The 12th requires pinpoint accuracy on the tee shot and second shot. The bunkers were very nice and groomed. The rest of the course is in good shape with the exception of the tee boxes. There are obstructions: a pump station on 1, a pump on 4, power lines, nets, and electric towers, that reduce the asthetics of this course which makes it hard for me to play here often.

Overall the conditions here are good. I thought the greens were too slow and a little bumpy. The trees to the left of the 5th fairway over the hill have been trimmed and now the second shot is more fair and playable. This has always been a fun layout with no two holes exactly alike. The tee boxes could use some leveling out and better turf.

This is a gem of a course located in Redmond, Oregon. The conditions were just about as good as you can get. To play on such beautiful fairways and greens is a real treat. And whats more is that this course is walkable. Every hole is bordered by native areas with shrubbery, native grass, small trees, dirt, and lava rocks. The rocks are very abrasive and hard. Your club or even your wrist can be seriously damaged from hitting a rock in the course of a swing. Take an unplayable and drop your ball in a safe area. To negotiate these areas is what makes this course so fun to play. If you have an awful front 9 you can make up some ground on the back 9 as it plays shorter and easier. This course should be on every ones list to play if planning on playing in Central Oregon.

In central Oregon there are numerous great golf courses and this is one of them. I thought the greens could have been a little better. There were scruff marks around some holes. It was almost like they did not change the pins and I was getting the foot traffic from the previous day. My complaints end here. The rest of the course is very lush and green. This is a fantastic layout. There are many ponds, lava rock outcroppings, and beautiful pines to negotiate. Pay attention to the hole diagrams next to each tee box for a rough location of the ponds and doglegs. There were hardly any straight-away holes out here. Do not play all the way back unless you can hit it 250 or more. Several dogleg holes require length to have a clear second shot. The 16th hole is one that I will never forget. It is a short island green par 3 with an old passenger train car as a bridge to and from the green. Inside the car are antique items such as chairs, a chess set, tables, and various other nick-knats. You can leave a bag tag if you want to. The fact that items are not stolen from this car is a tribute to the friendly people of central Oregon and to the golfers who play here.

I played as a single and there was 2 foursomes and a threesome ahead of me. I would like to commend them. Unlike some courses, in our entitlement age, like Los Lagos at Costa Mesa the regulars at this course know how to play ready golf and play in 4 hours or less. As a single, I had to wait but never that long. THANKS GUYS THe course is getting better. The fairways were a little softer. The greens need more care from the patrons by FIXING YOUR BALL MARKS.
