Got out this afternoon at 4:00 as part of a foursome for 9 holes of super twilight at $12 to walk. I haven't been on this course in years. Conditions were actually quite nice. Some tee boxes a little less than level but not too bad and mostly very good with nice coverage. Fairways were all in nice shape—cut, trimmed, and I don't remember any dry/brown spots. Rough was lush in numerous places and there were patches that were tough to get out of that could disappear a ball. I was in one fairway bunker, it was on the firm side, but no problem playing out of it. Greens were in good shape on the whole. Not a lot of ball marks, rolled pretty true, and were a medium speed. The exception was the ninth green, which was a bit on the mangey side with areas that looked like they were suffering from some kind of fungus. The weather was warm but felt nice in comparison to what we've been going through recently, and the late afternoon light cast a bit of a golden hue on everything. The course is pretty flat so there is no excuse not to walk it. I can only write about the front nine today, but the layout is basic tree-lined muni—generally straight and wide fairways with a reasonable amount of length on average. Nothing overly special about it—more like a nice walk in the park. It's pretty straight forward golf, but I can't see the course being in overall better condition than it was today. Price was good and we never waited on anyone. We hacked up the course and as a foursome we really kind of sucked, but made decent time. I wouldn't go out of my way to play here, but given that I was invited to meet the others here and I knew the general nature of the course, it was a pleasant short round and I wasn't disappointed.
