Played early today, after not playing here for six months or so. Rough was fairly short but lush while the fairways were cut fairly tight and fast. The greens were shaggy and still had some aeration bumps even though it had been a couple of months (I was told) since it was done. Overall the conditions were fair. The pace of play good though, about 4:15 hours.

greens were bumpy...need to be rolled...also were a bit thin. fairways needed some work...thin and a lot of bare spots around. played in just over 4hrs teeing off at 130pm...great pace of play.

Played Eldo Saturday May 8th. Greens recovering from recent punching and fairways are starting to come in nicely. Sandtraps were in excellent condition with plenty of sand. Easy course to walk with decent pace of play.

Played Friday b/c I couldn't get out to the GK outing. Played with RobStretch and Swing18. Course is in good shape. Greens though are really cut close. Greens are very firm and difficult to stop shots. Also noticed that given the greens are almost table tops they are bumpy from all the rubber cleat marks. Hard to keep ball moving straight without a firm put and if you have played these greens before you put it too hard you will roll off the green. Fairways, sand, and Tee Boxes are in great shape. You can tell they take care of this course. Just personal gripe about greens being so.... "bumpy." Pace was fast, considering we asked a 2some to join us with the foursome being slow. Worked to our advantage since we didn't see the foursome ahead until the 16th hole when the 2some had to leave.

Had a good time and played OK. Course is in very good shape. If you can get a t-time play this course.

Played Sunday the 28th. The effects of the prior day's rain showed as there were many puddles on both the fairway and rough. Pace of play was slow - 5-somes equals 5 hour rounds. However, the weather was perfect and the other golfers friendly. Easy course to walk and $36 LB resident fee for weekend rate is a plus.

This is a typical Bell design with doglegs and trees. Usually well maintained and the greens have improved since I last played here about 2 years ago.

This course is my least fav of the 3 main long beach courses. Rec park has amazing greens and skylinks is really coming around to be in great condition. El Do though takes forever to play for some reason. They put a practice area between 8 and 9 because you wait usually for two groups to tee off. I only play weekdays and i think the layout of the course is great and can be difficult from the back tees. The greens generally roll good but the greens dont hold like good courses. I'll hit a perfect shot at the pin and my ball bounces to the back, if not, roll to back frindge. I would like the greens to hold a lil more. I would say that i wont pay to play there if they dont fix it, but american golf gets my money at Big rec which is across the street from me, ha!
