Played 05/22 before the CC. Course was in pretty decent shape, most likely in preparation for the Men's Club Championship. Extra sand was added to many of the greenside bunkers, greens and fairways were mowed tight, not as many ball marks on the greens.

Rancho was in good shape today! The faiways were good, greens were healthy, flowering a bit , needed to be cut! Only fault this morning, bunkers were wet, hardpacked , needed to be raked and get some ... Continue »

Rancho was in good shape today! The faiways were good, greens were healthy, flowering a bit , needed to be cut! Only fault this morning, bunkers were wet, hardpacked , needed to be raked and get some air to them. Great weather and it was fun to play Rancho. This weekend maybe bussy, but enjoy the outdoors and the course!!

Played Rancho on Friday, April 9. The course is in far, far better shape than it was over the winter. There's still a ways to go, though. Fairways are looking pretty good but still have the usual bare spots (if you play Rancho a lot you know where these are). Greens are very soft, medium-slow, and moderately bumpy. Rough is pretty good, quite lush with the usual bare or thin areas. Parts of this course still appear to be rather overwatered, but other parts - notably #2 fairway - are nicely firm and drier than usual, and that's where the grass is thriving. The annual Police-Celebrity Tournament is May 1 this year, so expect to see Rancho in its best condition for the year right around that time. Please, if you go out and play it, fix a few ball marks on every green. You'll find dozens.

First of all the service at this course is absolutely revolting. The starters are downright rude and ignorant and the marshall seems to drive around and enjoy the scenery rather than do his job. Customer service is non-existant and management should do something about it. Other than that the course itself was fairly well kept. This course would play much better if it were better staffed.

Awesome layout but the conditions sucked. The customer service was not very good either. I'll stick with Woodley Lakes or Hansen Dam.

Not only is the 'Ho the busiest course in America, but the absolute crapiest too. 1/10...it gets a one becaue they actually have 18 holes in the ground.

GOLF COURSES SHOULD TELL/ WARN WE THE GOLFING COMMUNITY ABOUT COURSE IMPERFECTIONS. NO THEY JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY AND PUSH YOU OUT THE DOOR! I HAVE BEEN LUCKY NEVER TO HAVE PLAYED RANCHO PARK WITH ALTERNATE GREENS , IT'S NOT EVEN WORTH IT! SHAME TO TAKE THE LENGTH AND SHOT MAKING SKILL OUT OF THE COURSE. IT IS GOOD TO GIVE THEM GREENS A REST ONCE AND WHILE. WHEN IT DRIES UP I BET IT WILL HAVE ITS TEETH BACK!!! PLAYERS LET EACH OTHER KNOW WHAT THE COURSE IS DOING RIGHT AND WRONG, PASS THE INFO AROUND!
