Nice to get back out to Mile Square. Conditions are far better than the last time I played here, perhaps as nice as I've seen it. Greens rolled well, had decent pace and were receptive. Good coverage in the fairways. Only found one bunker and it had plenty of sand and was well raked. Staff was great and accommodating. Heat wasn't too bad - helped to get out early.

Played this morning before the heat and joined 3 great guys and we were all walking. The course is in the best condition I've seen it, fairways really green and perfect, rough was up in some places and the greens were in really nice shape and rolling at medium speed. Was in a few traps and they were also good. Pace of play was also excellent at just over 4 hours. A really nice round.

7:07 tee time this morning. Off on time and finished in 4 hours. Rough is PENAL! Very difficult to find your golf ball if you stray off the fairway. Tee boxes are okay. Fairways are okay. Greens recovering from being recently punched and sanded. Receptive and rolls well. Bunkers okay. Had a pleasant outing here and would recommend given you understand the greens were recently punched.

Played on Wednesday, 2/8 on a beautiful warm & sunny day. Overall the course is in good condition and very green from all the rain we've had. They are doing many improvement projects, replacing many cart paths and replacing a number of tees with new sod. The fairways had good coverage and mowed very short creating some tight lies. The rough is very sporadic so you may end up with a bad lie. I was in several sand traps and all of them had good coverage and were very playable. The greens were only in fair condition due to many unrepaired ball marks leaving many obstacles for putting. They held shots and rolled well if not for all the ball marks. Overall a very nice round.

Played 10/16/22 at 2:15 pm in a GK Cup 19 match. The course had had rain over the previous 2 days, but overall conditions were decent with good coverage on the greens, although the longer rough was wet and juicy. Fairway lies were spotty with many scattered shredded/bare-ish areas. Traps looked like they had adequate sand after a bunker rehab earlier this year. Tees OK. Course crowded, pace poor - we finished 12 holes in just under 4 hours and completed #16 in the dark.

Still a good bargain and acceptable conditions in central OC.

Teed off about 7:15 Wednesday morning finishing in 3:50. The greens have recovered from the heat wave of a few weeks ago. They were lush and green. The greens rolled with medium speed, smooth, and held shots. The fairways are a little bit better than a few weeks ago. Mostly good coverage with some thin areas scattered about. The rough has mostly good coverage with some thin/bare spots and was long enough to affect shots but not too penal. The bunkers were in good condition. The tee boxes had decent coverage although they are mildly unlevel like most courses. The staff is always friendly.

Walked on Wednesday morning about 6:30 and teed off about 7am. Played in 3:45. The summer heat has taken a toll on the greens and fairways. The greens had brown spots but they rolled smooth with medium+ speed. They played a little firm especially on pitch and chip shots. The fairways are a mix of good green lies and brown thin lies. I would imagine that the fairways should recover nicely as the temperatures cool down. Overall the fairways are playable. The rough was mostly good and green with some thin/bare spots and long enough to affect shots but not too penal. The bunkers were in good condition. The tee boxes have decent coverage but are mildly unlevel. The staff was friendly.

Played here on 7/30 at 8am with a POP of just under 5 hours. Staff/practice area nice as always. I really enjoy the new condensed design and was happy when I played a few months ago and the conditions were pretty great. They had re-sodded the areas around the bunkers and greens, the fairways were a little thin but playable, and the greens were awesome. Medium speed and true with nary a bump. Unfortunately the conditions have deteriorated a bit. I'd rate the tees, rough and bunkers as a 5 with the fairways improved to a 6 and the greens a rough 4. They really grew them out in the heat and are way too soft and med/slow for my liking. Given the prices at other courses, still worth it though. Recommended.

Played Mile Square Park yesterday at 11:00 am. Course is in good shape. Despite tons of play, and a relative value compared to other Orange County courses, the greens were well maintained running at 9. The rough was not very thick, but there are dry patches throughout. Lots of construction in the back 9 as they are bulldozing the old holes. Sand was in average shape and fairways were mowed and the ball sat up nicely. We had to play preferred lies because there was several occasions we had bare dirt when we strayed from the fairways. Customer service was fine and snack shop was open. There is still some temporary tee boxes on the back 9 holes.
