Played on Saturday June 13th, GK Cup match vs Sr714 (Steve). This was the second time we have faced off at Crosscreek in a GK Cup match. Last time we played the Blues and got a bit roughed up so this time we opted for the Whites, still a tough play from there! This course can just play really tough. There were some really hard bounces out there and managing them was key to success. Greens are crowned in most cases, were running quick, throw in the hard surfaces plus lack of any area to run the ball up and you better come in high and soft or spin the cover off the ball. The course was definitely a more manageable play from the Whites, but still took all your focus to be in the right spots. Slight mistakes get accentuated.
Fairways: some bare spots but mostly good
Rough: minimal in most areas, but some thick spots mostly in shady areas
Bunkers: fairway bunkers looked to be packed hard, greenside a bit softer and playable
Greens: running mostly smooth, tricky and easy to run the ball well past your target when chipping or putting
POP: right around 4.5 hrs, never really waited
Customer service: excellent, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Saw the snack cart a few times
Recommendation: a fun, challenging play if you play from the appropriate tees!

The first few times I played here the conditions were softer. Now you need to plan for some forward bounce. I saw a few shots stick but they were either high and soft or spinning HARD!

What an unbelievable deal for a great track with no homes and grape vine views. Picking the right tees to play is a must here as this course plays difficult but not unfair. Conditions were great overall. Most tee boxes were level, fairways were green and great to play from and bunkers had enough sand to hit descent shots. The greens rolled true but were a little bumpy due to my late Sunday afternoon tee time. The front nine is a casual fun walk but your heart rate definitely goes up on the back. Finished in under 4 hours which was great and can’t wait to play it again. Highly recommended

what a nice setting to knock off the rust!had a tee time of 740 on thursday 4/30 for 54.00 booked on their web site..check in was very easy/carts were staged next to check-in...range was open but only for playing golfers..6.00 for a small bucket...covid conditions the same as everywhere else but masks were only mandoratory at the clubhouse once your round began opional wear..
course conditions were VERY good..fairways a 9/tee boxes a 7/bunkers a 7/greens were spongey and a bit slow but very good 8/construction on #1 so every body started at the forward tees and were asked to lay-up on the 250 par 4(so not to slow down the start)tee times were 10 mins apart/restrooms on the course were open and the saw the cart girl twice.
2 key points after 3pm it is walking only and the that is because of the lack of carts,its seems the carts can only get enough of a charge to go twice during the day...the course was beautiful today and I was able to knock off a little rust..highley recomend

Played on 2/17 around 10:00am, pace of play was surprisingly good until we hit 16 where 3 groups were on the tee! Fairways were in decent shape but surprisingly many traps were GUR and others were rock hard. Greens were good with some subtle breaks.
One good thing was I made it over both dogleg canyons on the back nine, but missed puts on the greens....sigh.

Played today (1/23) on a beautiful day. The course is in very good winter condition.

Greens: excellent condition, starter said the greens are at a 13. I believe him.

Played today (1/23) on a beautiful day. The course is in very good winter condition.

Greens: excellent condition, starter said the greens are at a 13. I believe him.

Fairways: good winter condition, some bare spots.

Rough: 1-3" high, very playable.

Traps: My only complaint; many traps were hard with no sand. Might be prepping them for new sand in the spring, I hope.

POP: under 4 hours.

Good customer service. Recommend.

Mid morning tee time using the GK "Golf King" Coupon. Finished the round in a little over three hours which is great having had rounds in excess of five hours here before. The staff is always great and welcoming and the facilities are always in good shape. This is one of the more challenging courses in the Temecula Valley. The tee boxes were mostly flat but a few were very thin. The maintenance crew was out trimming and mowing many sections of the course today. The fairways had great coverage on almost every hole. There are a couple holes where the rodents have given the crew and golfers problems but it's limited to small sections on those holes. A few of the fairways had some very tight lies in the landing area one would find off the tee. The rough was just long enough to stop your ball and short enough to hit a decent shot from. The traps looked well groomed but some were thin on sand and damp/wet. The greens are in great shape after the recent rains but still gave me fits with their subtle unseen breaks. There were very few ball marks to be seen on every green. The greens here are very large and don't always hold shots well and can really frustrate even the best of putters. The scenery and location of this course remind me of another place - not your typical So Cal course. I've always enjoyed the course after making the drive up the hill to this out of the way gem. Always recommended!

Played here on Thursday AM, 11/14 using a GK coupon (a great deal, thanks Johnny!) One of my favorite courses, it is so peaceful, no traffic noise or other distractions. Your GPS will not work in the valley but there is an excellent GPS in the carts. Good idea to have the starter brief you on how to use it as it took me 3 holes to figure it out (but as a senior I'm not up on all the electronic gadgets) . Friendly customer service in the Pro shop and with the starter. Range: nice grass range and good range balls. Greens: very very fast, smooth and in excellent condition. Fairways: good condition for this time of the season. Rough: 1 - 3" high, very playable. Traps: very poor, worst part of the course. POP: just over 4 1/2 hours. Good deli sandwiches from the snack shop.

Played 9/5 as a 3ball. Off at 7:10, right on time. The small staff at Crosscreek are accommodating efficient and friendly, from the front desk to the starter and especially Leslie, in the snack bar. Lots of water on the course. Tees were a little beat up in a few spots, but overall fine. Fairways had good coverage. Rough in some areas was REALLY enjoying the watering. Greens were in very good shape at medium speed and seemed faster on north-to-south putts. All the grapes are in filling in the open areas on the first nine and it looks great. The GK coupon was a steal with a very nice bonus burger at the finish. I'll be back soon.

Played on 8/11 at just after noon GK Cup match vs Sr714. Word for the day would be sticky, the rough was sticky, the fairways were sticky (very little run out if at all), the weather was sticky, everything was sticky except the greens. Unless you threw a high spinning shot in the ball most times just bounced and rolled off the green. The greens rolled at medium speed, were mostly smooth with some bumps along the way. The course was in good shape, lots of water being used, but I honestly don't remember it being such a tough play, danger lurks everywhere . . . trees, weeds, canyons, deep high faced bunkers, water, forced carries, long holes that play into the prevailing wind and usually nowhere to bail out. We played the blues, the twosome we played with the blacks(they had no business whatsoever playing blacks as their drives never came close to ours) it would have been a quicker, dinner round if we all played whites. Don't let the yardage fool you and believe the slope, this course plays long and difficult. Not a big fan of a couple of holes on the back, a 400 yard hole you are forced to hit 5 iron off the tee? A 350 yard hole with a 200 yard forced carry straight into the wind?
