Played Green River on Friday Dec 23rd. Had a 8:06 tee time and got out about 20 minutes early. Played from the blues. POP was good at 4:15. The course was very wet as I am sure all the courses have been. Hole #5 had a temporary green which we did not know about until we got to that hole. All of the tee boxes were good and level. The fairways were very wet, no roll out, so the course played allot longer because of the wetness. I was not in any bunkers either fairway or green side but my friend was and truthfully they did not look friendly. Glad I avoided them. The greens were very receptive, had to fix ball marks every hole. They rolled good but slow, it appeared they did not get mowed because of the weather.This is a course where if you are a little shorter off the tee, you will be hitting fairway woods for your 2nd shot or into the green on most of the holes. Number 10 was playing 460 yards par 4 and #16 (par 3) was playing 208 yards. Like I say course plays long and if you come here your long game will be tested. Had breakfast and lunch in the snack bar and service was great as usual.

Played today with Itslikeimsayin- thank you Mark, for sharing that great deal. Wow, it was windy today! It was quite a challenge locating the balls among all the leaves and debris in the fairways. Mark summed up the conditions well, so I’ll just add a couple of comments. I was happy to see that all the vegetation has been cleared out of the ditch on #6. Just being dirt and some mud, it was much easier to get out of. #5 still has a temporary green and there was a crew doing quite a bit of work on #9. I was in the rough many times, but the ball sat up well and some of my best shots were from that nice cushion. This is a fun course and pretty long from the forward tees with a par 73. Despite the wind, I did well and look forward to playing there again.

Played out here today with an 11:02 tee time. Got abbacat to join me via Meet & Play and we used a Groupon I had for a twosome that (with a 20% off promo code) came to $30 for two players, cart included. Great deal! It was only good after 11:00 and even when checking in at 10:35, the pro shop guy made a point to tell me we couldn't start before 11:00. There was no starter so we headed to the tee around our time and probably started a few minutes late. We paired up with a twosome of Green River regulars, one of whom was 86 years old. The group in front of us lost us pretty quickly but our pace wasn't bad. Around 4:15 total on a very, very windy day.

Conditions are pretty good. The course probably looks a little better than it plays right now, but it's very playable. The greens were green and lush but were susceptible to many imperfections – lots of unfixed ball marks and various other nicks. As a result, lots of bumpy putts among our foursome. They roll medium fast and are pretty soft, accepting full shots well. However, I had a hard time fixing ball marks because the ground was so hard beneath the surface. That was sorta weird. Fairways are pretty lush kikuyu with occasional thin spots. Rough was more prone to bare spots. Blue tee boxes decent, some a bit lumpy. The sand was a low point. I was only in one bunker and it was very thin, but one of our playing partners said they're all very thin.

Went out early on Saturday 12/17 with our regular group. Haven’t played GR some time, at least in 7-8 months and it was cold out there. It was 38 degrees when I got out of my car but no frost issues on the greens so we got out ok without delay. Fairways are in very nice shape right now. No browning yet. As it gets colder though, look for the fairways to brown out. Greens are getting better. Looks like they have been doing a lot of work on the greens and they are becoming lush. Some look like lush, green carpets but are pretty slow. I imagine when they cut them, they should roll real nice. Many divots however. Wish people would fix their ball marks. There is a temporary green on #5 but it looks the regular green will be back in business soon. Sand traps are very firm but not hard pan. The rough is thick but playable. You can get a club on it. We did spend a lot of time looking for balls however. Balls in this rough are difficult to find. Thick grass, leaves and shadows make it tough to find balls. I lost two balls today, yikes!. Maybe I should hit it in fairways eh? GR is in very nice condition right now and IMO is tougher than rated. In a week or two, the greens should be in real nice shape. Always great customer service in the golf shop and in the restaurant. If you are ever there in the restaurant, say hello to Glinny! Very nice young lady and makes a great martini!! :-)

My intentions when I left home this morning was to play Dos Lagos, but couldn't bring myself to endure the 15/91 interchange on the trip home, so made a last minute decision to try Green River. Since I just played there a couple months ago, was not all that excited about returning so soon. That said, I enjoyed myself on a beautiful autumn morning, No problem getting out, which was a pleasant surprise given how late sunrise is this time of year.

Course is about the same as two months ago, except I thought the greens were better this time. ( Or maybe it's because I made a few putts?) Fairways were decent, with some areas which could use some attention, but for the most part - not bad. Only in one bunker and it had plenty of sand and was raked.

Sure do miss having two courses, mostly because the "new" configuration makes for some long walks between some of the holes.

Went out to Green River this morning and walked on as a single. Course is in really good shape. Tees, fairways, rough and greens had good coverage. There is a temporary green on the par 5 fifth hole. Very few unfixed divots on the greens and they were smooth with medium speed. Rough is tough this time of year with the leaves making it tough to find your ball. POP was a tick under four hours.

Had the second time off at 6:14 Monday, but the threesome which had the first time offered to allow our twosome to tee off ahead of them because they thought it was too dark? We appreciated that.

Had the second time off at 6:14 Monday, but the threesome which had the first time offered to allow our twosome to tee off ahead of them because they thought it was too dark? We appreciated that.

The greens for the first few holes had numerous bare areas, but as the round progressed, most of the greens were significantly better, with just a few having issues. Fairways were for the most part were decent. The rough in many areas was rather think/lush, which at times was extremely tough. It was a perfect day weather wise, the course looked great with all the sunshine and green. Being off first obviously allowed for great pace of play, finishing in 2 1/2 hours.

Always enjoy playing here, and taking advantage of their senior special ($29/cart) I did not have to endure the long walks now common to this course.

Apologies because this is late and short. Once again, I have to be brief. Went out Friday 8/19 with a buddy as a twosome @9:30. The greens were overall pretty nice, running a brisk medium and reasonably clean. There were two exceptions: the first and 12th holes where there were strips of dirt in areas of the greens. On hole one, it was more off to one side, while on 12 it was much more extensive. Otherwise, the course was in overall pretty nice shape, with nothing really to complain about. As long as one is aware of a couple of subpar greens, the rest is worth recommending. A generally well kept course in a scenic (if windy) area, at a pretty decent price.

Played out here this morning using their E-Club birthday deal, $14 cart fee only. They let me book 9:30 even though the coupon says it has to be after 10:00. I started right on time, by myself, and ended up playing through four different groups in the first 10 holes. Then on 16 tee, I joined a single ahead of me and we played in together. Total POP was an amazing 2:30! Love it!

Course is in decent condition. Good coverage most places. Lots of kikuyu that can get kind of spongy, though. Greens were soft, medium-slow to slow and a little bumpy. You've gotta hit putts firmly or they don't stay on line. I saw a few browned out areas on a couple greens, but generally they are lush, just slower than I expected. Fairways were mostly good, with decent lies all day. Rough was a little spottier, and on 18 I found some clumpy areas speckled with bare spots. Tee boxes were very spongy but mostly lush. I wasn't in a bunker. Overall a very nice morning!
