Played in MC tourney Sunday AM, typical 5 hr. POP w/8:30 tee time and I’m sure it got worse as the day progressed, $35 weekend rate to walk. Found the course dry and scruffy, needing water in many areas (probably a budget issue which is always the case at county courses), and general maintenance was lacking. Lots of rollout off the tee and with the sloping fairways at LV, that means hitting outta the patchy rough on many holes, so be aware of the slope during your line up. Practice putting greens were fantastic, perfect Poa, but it’s not like that on the course. Some brown spots on many greens, a bit uneven, and terrible job by the crew in cutting the holes today, all edges were sagging inward big time. I've never seen them this bad. Bunkers not maintained either. Not very impressed with conditions at LV right now, maybe I caught it during a 'down' period. Sorry, not recommended at this time.

We played this morning in 3.5 hours. Greens are in great shape and the course as well. No noticeable issues. They are in the process of repairing the cart paths on the front 9 so you will see some workers depending upon the time of day you play. But the condition of the course is really good.

Played Sunday in Tournament. Greens in decent shape. They rolled fairly true but sometimes bumpy. Fairways in good shape; very lush. Rough is thick in places but playable. Skirts around greens are sticky so throw your ball onto the green and expect a fair amount of release. Tee Boxes are level. Sand in bunkers are well stocked.

Pace of play was horrific. Over 5 hours to finish a round and we were book-ended with two other tournaments. No views today as it was completely overcast and foggy around the coast. Wind was coming from the south so it made for an interesting round. Typically the breezes come from the NW.

It's been a while since I played here last. Several additions include a bunker in front of 11 and a bunker on the right on 7. Had to keep remembering this course sits on the side of a hill and had to always keep in mind the top of the hill and which way the course was sloping to determine the real break. Overall I was pleased with the conditions; not the pace of play.

Played at 8:30 this morning in a tourney. 5.4 hours unfortunately. The course is in good shape though. The greens have essentially recovered from aeration. They rolled well with occasional deviation. The speed of the greens was good, medium fast. The fairways are excellent right now and the rough is more of a factor than usual. I was in only one trap and the sand was nice (although I had to rake for the three other guys that did not). Except for the cold wind blowing to the ocean, it was a great day on the hill.

Played 4/17/13 at 11:30 am. They send out 5-somes here so my friend and I were paired with another 3-some.

Greens: The half of the greens that had been aerated first had healed nicely. The other half still had a good amount of sand about a week after aeration. Besides that, they ran pretty well, medium-fast, with some bumpiness.

Fairways: Nice and lush. Good lies throughout. Some divot damage on some of the shorter par 4s on the back 9.

Rough: Lush throughout. Some thinner areas along tree branches and along areas that separate two holes.

Tees: Nice and lush on the front 9. The newly replaced tees on the back 9 were very hard packed and impossible to get a tee in. Some divot damage on the par 3s and shorter par 4s.

Sand: Good throughout and I was in a couple. Fluffy top layer gave way to firmer sand underneath.

POP/Customer Service/Etc.: Finished in 5 hours. Not great for a Wednesday. I honestly don't think it's the 5-somes as much as people playing from the wrong tees. There's no shame in playing from the whites, guys. Customer service was good. Starter got us out on time and the restaurant at the turn offered quick and affordable service. $40 to ride on a weekday. Not bad price for the layout. Just wish it would play faster.

Walked on today as a single, $27 to walk, POP just a tic over 4 hrs. Only waited 30 min. to get out. Half side of the greens aerated so stay on the half with the flag, they're actually rolling okay and should be fine within a week. Back nine in great shape, front nine tee box and re-bunkering project should begin around May or June.

They started aerating the second half of the greens today, instead of last week. The half of the green already done several weeks ago is great. So in several weeks we should have some great putting surfaces. The rest of the course is in great shape. Fairways are filling back in and are providing good roll and lies. Marshals are doing a good job of moving things along as we had a POP of 4 hours this morning.

Played on 4/1. First time playing since they fixed up the back 9. 9:40 tee time got done in about 5 hours. Fairways are good for the time of the year. Bunkers on the front need some work but the ones ... Continue »

Played on 4/1. First time playing since they fixed up the back 9. 9:40 tee time got done in about 5 hours. Fairways are good for the time of the year. Bunkers on the front need some work but the ones on the back are great. Half of all the greens are in the late stages of recovery from being punched. Greens are always top notch here when fully recovered. Tee boxes on the back 9 were great.
