Made a single early tee time at Coyote Hills Friday morning, paired up with another single behind a four ball so PoP was 4hrs ... we just took our time; well, I took my time, he was a ball hawk. Anyway, the course is all Bermuda in dormancy but still had good lies as long as you stayed in the fairway as it gets that matted, uneven look in the rough so some balls will settle.

Greens looked a bit raggy but rolled mostly true and rather quick I might add. Firm, so many balls would release but speed was not consistent so it was hard to judge where to aim.

In a couple GS bunkers, good sand, light texture, easy to play from.

Great senior special M-F still intact: $58 gets golf w/cart (touch screen GPS), range balls, lunch w/drink. Best deal in the OC or So Cal for that matter. Recommended, even with some short, quirky holes to deal with. Gorgeous water features on the back side, too.

Played today. Cold when we started but warmed up nicely. Course is in good shape. They say the new green on # 15 "should" open Jan 6 (hope so as temp green sucks). Tee boxes are fine. Fairways are hard and thin, so clean strike is imperative (but lots of roll). Bunkers are all fine. Very little rough to speak of, but plenty of OB areas and water, are in play. Greens are great. Chip/putt well, hold shots and fast (especially downhill). Customer service was excellent at all levels. Really enjoy this course and its layout.

Played today during an overcast and cool day. The course is in good condition except for a couple of greens that appear to be on the onset of some disease. They appear to be on top of maintaining the problem. Hole 15 has a temporary green set up. The greens were somewhat bumpy and was hard to read. The tee boxes have been overseeded and are thin but starting to grow back. Still an enjoyable round.

Played today in a POP of 3 H. The fairways were very very damp when we started and were difficult to play off of. As the sun came out, the fairways began to provide better lies and of course, roll. Found a few tee boxes (3 or 4) that had grass growing on them? Why they did not move the markers to a more reasonable area, defy's logic, IMO. The rest of them were fine. Bunkers were all fine and playable. The greens on the front 9 were damp, but still had good speed. On the back 9, they were dry and fast, as it warmed up. Still a temp green on # 15 (which is a par 5) and IMO I don't think it will be anytime soon, before the new green is available? The new green looks like it has problems and is not growing in like they want? Also, # 17 had a large section under repair, in the front right corner of it? But the pin was in a location, that unless you landed in the repaired area, you were fine. I like playing here, but as a course that describes itself as "high end", being charged the fees that they do, for the pleasure of only 17 holes, does not set well with me? I think playing Black Gold is a better option? Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played today in a nice 3 H pace. Tee boxes have begun to go dormant (Bermuda grass) but they were all playable/clean. Fairways had good coverage (though they are going dormant as well in areas) and gave good roll and good lies all round. Bunkers were all very playable. Little to no rough, but enough OB and water to take care of that. Greens were great (but # 15 is a temp due to complete rebuild) and held shots, chipped/putted great and with speed. Customer service excellent at all levels.

played mid morning in nice weather. trying to play some more to groove some new swing changes. pro shop and starter friendly. course is in fairly good condition. tee boxes were all in good shape, fairways mown tight for the most part. a few bare and muddy spots here and there. half the greens were punched/sanded, maybe a few days ago? don't think gk knew about it and it was not mentioned on check in. pin was always in the non punched half of the green but they are still bumpy and erratic. definitely missed one birdie that turned left about an inch from the hole due to a huge bump. big dead patch on the green on 17 not sure what happened there. #15 green is closed and temporary green set up there, not sure what they were fixing. was only in one bunker, which had good sand. rough wasn't too penal in general. fun course with a lot of interesting holes and definitely don't need to use driver a lot, but since it's easy to lose balls, POP slow at 4.5 even though the course was not busy. still a fun track, wish pop was a little speedier.

Only second time playing this course and forgot how tricky some of the holes were. Teed off from the whites and maybe used my driver in about 6 holes. Some tee boxes were thin and uneven. Overall decent course conditions.

Played this AM in 2.5 H. The course has taken a beating, since my last review (a month ago) and the last one (Weber). Greens are horrendous from fungus. # 15 should be closed, it looked so bad (+ 2 and 8). And with all the water they have been putting on them, every shot leaves a divot and many are not being fixed, adding to the misery. Customer service excellent. For the most part, the tee boxes were fine. Though I did find a few that were not. Fairways are decent but soft, with very little (if any) roll. Bunkers were OK and maintenance was getting them cleaned. I love this course but not willing to pay for these conditions. Will be back when it cools down.

I always enjoy playing this golf course because there are many holes which I just love playing. Add the wonderful vistas, and the mix/variety of holes, makes for a fun time. (Plus there are a bunch of birdie holes out there)

Course has withstood the heat very well. Most of the fairways still green and lush, greens rolled well. Overall the condition of the course was better than I expected.

Staff as always was great, very accommodating. My only complaint I have is sometimes getting slowed by "back nine play", but no problems today !
