Wasn’t doing anything today so I decided to head out and play somewhere. Chose Dos Lagos since it has been about 10 years since I last played here. Check in was great. I got there about 10:00 and the starter sent me right to the tee to play solo. The rate was $29 bucks today which was nice and no one out there on this hot day. Caught up a with a foursome on #15 which slowed things down but still played in about 3 hours. Not sure why I haven’t played here in so long because I really like the course. Nice to play Bermuda grass fairways for a change instead of kikuyu. The fairways were generous and in great condition. Lots of roll out with good lies. The rough was thick on some holes, not so thick on other holes but it was Bermuda rough and was tough to get it out. Best to stay out of the rough. Sadly, the sand traps were rock hard. Greens were great. A bit soft but they held good shots and rolled true. Not many un-repaired ball marks out there which was nice to see. I enjoyed playing here today. Very nice views of the area and you can always find a good price online. The wind came up on the back but it is a nice layout and there are opportunities for birdies. I am definitely playing out here again and won’t wait so long next time.

It's our home course for this year and we play it about 3, 4 times a week. Played today at 7:45 am ahead of the tournament and finished in 4 hours. Pace is usually 4 hrs or less if you can tee off prior to 8am on weekdays. My major complaint since January this year had been the soft spongy greens but since the aeration in early April, greens have gotten much better. Greens are now much smoother and roll true, although at medium speed. In the past couple of weeks, they have verticut the fairways (about inch to 1 1/2 inch wide) and it will probably take another couple of weeks to heal. Even with verticut fairways, the course is still very playable. You'll just get less roll than normal. Most bunkers here have adequate coverage of sand but a few are more of compacted dirt.
Of the 4 nearby course in this south Corona region, Dos Lagos is usually the busiest course around. One reason would be for the reasonable rates they charge but also with different look on every hole, it is a fun course to play. Even if you play multiple times a week.
Wait till fairways heal a bit, but it's a course I'd recommend.

Got a chance to play an afternoon round at Dos Lagos with Gregholla on Saturday 5/6 to warm up before PGA WEST GK Plays. We found an Underpar deal for 24 each! We headed out to our 1:08pm tee time and arrived at the course about 12:15pm. Went to check in only to find out that they could not check us in because the course was running behind. They told us to go warm up in the "driving range." This consisted of a three bay net, but at least it was free. After warming up and deciding not to walk to the putting green over the bridge at 1 we headed into the bar. The bartender was super nice and makes one hell of a jack and coke for $7. At about 1:15 they had enough carts and had everyone checked in. They then apologized for delay and explained that there was a tournament. We headed to the 1st tee to find 3 groups waiting to tee off.... it was going to be a long day.

We decided to let the long wait times go and just enjoy the round. We were luckily paired up with a local twosome that liked to laugh and joke as much as us. Once we hit the course we were surprised by the conditions. The recent rains have made playing conditions great compared to normal from what I was told. Greens were lush and soft but still rolled pretty moderately fast. Reads were very true and allowed for some great chances for long putts. Fairways were great and rolled for days. Very few brown or thin spots and divot damage. the only thing is really have anything to complain about was some of the tee boxes had substantial divot damage. Some of the boxes were tough to find a good lie to tee up.

As far a pace of play, it was a bit rough as expected and took about 5hrs 45min to get through the round. It sounded by the grumbles of the locals that this is pretty common and 6 hr rounds aren't out of the question. With the wind blowing 30 to 40 some of the par 4s proved very challenging. i would imagine without the wind this would be pretty fun course. We were in survival mode but still had a great time.

Played Sunday 4/2/17 w/Rstang06 for the first time ever at this course. 10:53 tee time and even with the amount of golfers in wait, we were paired with another twosome and got out pretty much on time. Starter was very informative; but I don't think anything could've prepared us for the many blind holes. Golf card helped a little. Thankfully twosome we played with had played here numerous times before and were extremly helpful on where to line up for the best follow on shots. Course was planning on punching greens this Sunday evening and into the following Monday,, untill done. Practice greens over adjacent to Holes 1 & 10. No Driving range; however there is a 3 station practice net area/off mat. On course the tee boxes were a little long; but level overall Fairways were tight, some areas browned by cart travel and weather. Balls ran out a lot. Bunkers were mixed. Some full of heavy sand; others packed due to heavy rain/watering Most had unraked bunker traffic. Course knowledge an absolute to ensure low scoring. Rough medium to long and quite penalizing on some holes compared to others. Back 9 opens up and is prone to cross traffic miss hits. Some really quirky holes Greens were fairly large, a lot are multi-tiered, and speeds inconsistent. Slow/Fast. **We were advised greens were going to be aerated that afternoon and work completed the following day. Which is probably why there were so many unrepaired ball marks. Greens were very soft, and exhibiting mid-day foot traffic wear, making for difficult putting conditions. Interesting golf course. Standard carts (No GPS or cooler). Cart girl made rounds and was friendly as were all the course staff. Pace of play was relaxed. Rarely saw the group behind us all day. May need a redemption round some time down the road, if another good coupon deal were to arise. :) just this novice golfin gals thoughts. :)

I wanted to get back out before they punched greens next week, and I made the right decision because the greens rolled very well, and were receptive to well struck shots. Overall the course is looking good, green, lush, with only a few areas which need some attention. Both bunkers I found were nicely raked and had plenty of sand.

Enjoy this course for a number of reasons; it's priced right, fun to play with a number of birdie holes, nice views, staff is always accommodating, plus I rarely have any issues with maintenance. The only downside for me playing here is the drive home, fighting the 15/91 inter-change.

I've played here twice in the past 6 months. Both experiences were excellent. With an unofficial handicap of 23.4, this course proved to be very challenging and a lot of fun. The greens and fairways were very well maintained and it was a joy to play here. I often felt quite lost on my approach shots since i was unable to determine the distance and direction of greens. I could have easily saved at least 4 shots off my round if i could have been more confident of the distance remaining to the greens. Of course, the wind took my shots into the hillsides on the back nine. I would love to play here again and atone for my erratic shots that resulted in blow up holes through the round. Conclusion: Please add distance markers on holes with blind approach shots. Thanks

Played 2/18. The course has finally recovered from the heavy rain from a couple of weeks ago. The back 9 was closed at one point due to mud slide on the 16th hole. This course does NOT drain well. It was a mess after the rain. Better now.

The course is really 2 different courses. Front and back doesn't look anything alike and are completely separated from each other.

Tee boxes were a bit thin but wasn't much of an issue. Fairways were still soft from all the rain, but at least it was no longer cart-path-only. Tee shots would NOT roll. Green were medium speed and super receptive. Not surprised. It did rolled true for being so soft. Bunkers had plenty of sand and was consistent throughout the course.

If you don't mind the trailer pro shop and the lack of a driving range, this course is a gem. Good rate and never very busy. Will be back.

After getting a bad case of cabin fever I finally made it outside over to Two Lakes this morning. No numerical rating in GK for today's round as it wouldn't really be fair given the recent storms. Surprised that only a few holes were CPO as personally I think they could use another few days to dry out. Not that many really wet spots but still quite a few soft and clumpy spots left that carts would just do more harm to. Overall though I was pleasantly surprised as the course seems to have drained well for the most part. Tees definitely need a mow but they're green and lush. Fairways and rough are a combo of dormant and semi-dormant Bermuda. Dry areas played super firm and fast and rough was non-existent and wouldn't stop a ball from rolling into or out of trouble. Only thicker areas were closer to the fringes. Bunkers had all dried out and had nice soft sand. Greens were soft and bumpy but rolled at a nice medium pace. All in all it's very playable and will only continue to get better as the temps warm up. Recommended.

I took caligolfer1031 up on his Meet & Play for 9:00 here this morning. We paid $15 each due to it being a course holiday, but otherwise his GolfMoose certificate had us covered. Thank you caligolfer1031! As you'd expect for this week, it was quite busy and we started a few minutes late, paired with another twosome. We waited a bit on the front side, but overall pace was pretty decent for how busy the course was, and we finished in right around 4.5 hrs. The course doesn't look all that pretty but it's playing pretty good right now. Greens are medium fast and mostly smooth (except when they aren't; I had one putt bounce on me pretty bad). They were somewhat inconsistent in accepting shots, however. I hit a high-flighted 7-iron about pin-high into #15 and it bounced and did not hold the green. On other greens, I backed up a few approach shots. So it's hard to tell which greens will hold and which will not. Overall, though, no real complaints about the greens. The first fairway scared me a bit. It was very shaggy and looked like it hadn't been mowed for four or five days. Fortunately, that was the only hole like that. The rest were cut short, mostly dormant Bermuda and afforded pretty good lies – albeit a little thin – most of the day. On many holes, there was hardly any delineation in length of grass from fairway to rough. Most was cut very short like fairways 2-18. Some deeper, lusher areas around some greens. There were also occasional muddy spots due to the recent rains both in fairways and rough. Not too many, though. Blue tee boxes were a little beat up but not bad; worse on par 3s than other holes. Bunkers had nice sand but could use some TLC – leaves accumulated in them, clumpy sand in spots, etc. Overall, the course is playing very nice for late December and today's weather couldn't have been any more ideal. Recommended.
