Made the annual trek to Oak Quarry to play this wonderful layout. Online app with Oak Quarry provided discounted tier tee times. We got a rate of $45. The course is in great summer shape. Green were rolling smooth around 9.5/10. The tricky pull/breaks to the Quarry (East/Southeast) make local knowledge a must here. Lots of unique blend of holes here in a spectacular setting. Fairways had plenty of coverage and lots of roll. Rough was pretty much non-existent and the bunkers were a mixed bag. Some fairway bunkers were hard pan with standing water. Some greenside bunkers were fluffy and adequate. Tee boxes were fine and customer service was really good. Take a look at their happy hour drink and food specials. No cart service today, but take advantage of the snack shop at the turn with food and drink specials. The carts guys that clean and shuttle your clubs add a luxury feel to this course. I enjoyed playing with larryq2001 as usual and two of his long time buds. Look forward to returning soon!

Played OQ on 9/25 with fellow GK’er cthuyen and a couple other close friends getting an online rate of $45. Wasn’t going to review this course as it was recently reviewed just a couple of days ago but it has been about 5 years since I last played here and I just had to comment on such nice conditions. On a warm but very pleasant day of we went with a 10:00 tee time finishing in just about 4 hours. Fairways were excellent and with that good Bermuda grass, got lots of roll out. Didn’t find any brown areas out there. The rough was not super thick and very playable. Bunkers were a mix – green side bunkers were in good shape however, the fairway bunkers were pretty damp and hard. Greens were rolling really nicely. Not fast but true. In great condition also as there were very few un-repaired ball marks. I had forgotten how nice this course was. The layout is fantastic. Not tricky but there are some elevation changes so you do have to think through most of your shots. Love the challenge. Had a great time and looking forward to getting out here again.

Friendly helpful staff. Heard POP could be very slow but played on a Monday finishing in 4 hours. Given how nice this course is, it is probably very popular on weekends. Highly recommend.

The course was not busy, but fell behind a foursome that was slowed by several groups in front of them. The course in very nice condition. Fairways and rough were green and lush. Bunkers did have sand but were hard and compacted. Greens rolled true med/fast, and showed some divot damage. POP was slightly over 4 hours.

played here late morning a few days ago. it was a cool day so it was actually pleasant out in the inland empire. looks like the heat is back now. this is always one of my favorite course layouts, runs through the quarry beautifully and holes usually make you think a bit. customer service was mentioned in the previous reviews but there wasn't any when i got there, maybe it was a bit later. no one to drop a bag off to, had to flag down the cart guys to get a cart, and no one to check on us when we got back. no starter so i just headed out there with my buddy. the course itself was in better condition than i usually see it, pretty green, but still a big scruffy. the tees from the blues were okay, even the par 3's were okay since they mostly play from 195+ and most people don't take huge divots from that distance. fairways were actually pretty green but did have some brown and bare spots out there. rough was up just a bit and enough to affect our approaches for sure. bunkers out here were pretty bad as usual, pretty much playing out of dirt. i think the wind just makes it hard to keep sand here? worst part was the greens were very slow and bumpy. looks like they had just been verticut so either your putt was with the cut and had no break or it was against the cut and you had to slam the putt to get it there. often times putts would get knocked off line by bumps on the greens. frustrating. anyway it was still a fun day, POP was about 4 hours. for some reason i always score great on the front and get killed by the back. that's golf i guess.

Decided to do my once a year Riverside 36 of Oak Quarry and Goose Creek. I got out on Oak Quarry a little earlier than Chevelle on 8/26 as our 3-some was 2nd off just after 6:00. First group off were a 3-some that had not been here before, so they made a few wrong turns and made things a bit slower than they needed to be. Still, we made it around in just over 3 hours.

OQ is in great shape for the heat of summer. Greens are soft and roll smooth, medium speed. Fairways and rough are good. Bunkers were damp from overnight watering, but still in good shape.

I'll differ from Chevelle here in stating I would happily pay $59 for this course to be in OC any day. It's a great track with stunning views. Yes, they do offer a level of service that many of us consider unnecessary, but it is just part of the package that makes OQ my favorite in the area.

Played Monday aug 26th at 644. First time here in over 5 years. My son in law booked on line and got a $49 senior price. When I got to the desk I asked senior price for Tuesdays and was told $59. So IMHO, that is over priced for senior, that is Orange County price. I am not a pomp and circumstances guy, ie I like to carry my own bag ect, and this course is over pampering, ride bags in from parking lot, wipe clubs after round, not my cup of tea. Course was packed this monday morning, POP was 4:20 too long for me. Got paired wih 2 guys who were "relaxed" in their approach of golf, so it was light hearted out there. They played music, really didn't like it but at least the music was great songs, "jim croce, sweet home Alabama, ETC." The course was very green, tee boxes good, fairways green, greens rolled nice, bunckers, yeah yuck. This is also a course you have to play regularly to know what to do on every hole, many many little spots you don't want to be or have to avoid. Will I be back, maybe, but won't be a regular on my schedule. Much better values in the I.E.

Played on Tuesday morning 7/15. Got around in 4 hours. Course is in really good shape for the most part. Bunkers were overly wet (one was puddled) and the unrepaired ball marks on the green were rampant. (come on golfers - fix your ball marks!)
The course is challenging, interesting, and beautiful. It is cut into an old quarry in riverside (as the name declares) and they use the rocks to dramatic effect. The 4th green sits in what looks like an amphitheater with a cove / wall of rock behind it. The 14th is a downhill par 3 playing around 200 yards. To the left all along the hole and up to the green is a cliff. Behind the green is a stunning wall of rock. There is a bailout area right, but there are bunkers there as well. It's just a fantastic hole. And there are several holes like that. There are elevation changes throughout the course as well.
I highly recommend this course!

It was difficult to believe it's been a couple years since I last played here, because I really enjoy playing this course. First off at 5:32am, but was advised that I had to play slowly so as not to interfere with maintenance, so decided to play two balls to slow me down. Finished in 2 hours 40 minutes, catching maintenance on #15.

Course is possibly in the best condition I can remember. Greens rolled really true, moderately quick. Fairways were green and lush. Not in any greenside bunkers, but found two fairway bunkers, the sand was very wet, but well maintained. Most of the rough was fine, with just a few areas needing attention.

Staff was super accommodating. Rest of the staff was friendly as usual. Enjoyed a nice round of golf at a course I should have been visiting more frequently. Plan to return sooner and later this time.
