Course in very good shape except the bunkers (hard dirt), the greens showed no sign of being sanded or punched, just very slow compared to what they usually are. The strange thing was the rough around the greens and the fairways on the front nine was about 1-2 inches and you had a chance to get out with maybe just a flier but the back nine was completely different with the rough on the fairway and around the greens was about 5-6 inches and we even lost a ball when it rolled through the green and into the rough, you basically had to just gouge it out. The bright side was the weather stayed cool until about 5 holes to go and for $40 you can't complain, just enjoy the Quarry

THE GREENS ARE PUNCHED! Played today as the first group out in beautiful cool, overcast weather. The tee boxes were level, nicely mowed and had little damage. Fairways were lush for the most part, with random brown spots here and there, but didn't affect play for the most part. The bunkers could use a lot more sand but at least were consistent throughout. The greens were the biggest disappointment since I didn't expect them to be punched. The holes were on the small side, but definitely impacted the roll and pace. Speed was medium at best. Lots of sand on the surface as well. This course continue to be my favorite within an hour drive from SGV. Even with the punched greens, I thoroughly enjoyed the round. Service has always been top notch throughout the course.

Played on 5/21/17. Pace of play was VERY slow. I'm a 9hcp and it took 5hrs 14 min to finish the round. Waited on every shot. On a couple of the holes there were 4 groups on the same hole. Saw marshall several times but he really wasn't pushing pace of play. Greens were decent, but a little shaggy/long making putts bumpy at times and on the slower end stimping probably around 8-9. Fairways were airated. Grass was decent but very firm underneath which i think is more a character of the type of grass rather than watering. Rough was thick and green. Bunkers were hard packed dirt. Not really bunker sand. For $90+ I did not expect to have 5+ hour round so I was quite disappointed.

Finally able to get out and play some golf! Course was in great shape. Greens smooth and running at 10. Fairways and rough were also in great shape. Only complaint would be bunkers, which some are being repaired. Found 1 with standing water in them.

Tee boxes level amd customer service was excellent. Probably best shape its been over last 10 rounds there over last five years. Looks like they figured out the greens, which use to be consistently bumpy and inconsistent with speed in the past. Look forward to returning soon.

Played in a GK Cup match against allan_grant this morning. He had a 25% deal, so it was only $48 each for a 6:52 tee time. Allan was running a little late because of a traffic jam, but the starter was nice and moved our group back one slot (much to the dismay of the grumpy twosome we were paired with). It was CRAZY foggy throughout most of the front nine, so there was a lot of yelling "clear" back and forth between groups. After that, we didn't push the groups ahead much until the final few holes, which seemed to take forever (seriously like 1.5 hours just for holes 15-18!!!). Total pace around 4.5 hours, which wasn't great for being one of the first few groups off.

The course is in great condition right now and rolling around for great spring shape. Tee boxes were great. The fairways are nearly out of dormancy. A little grabby with that still 25% dormant thatchiness, but a great pad of bermuda throughout. Rough mostly great and well-conditioned. The greens were firm and rolling smooth at medium speeds. I was in many, many bunkers. Most were adequate, but I wouldn't say any were "great."

I always enjoy any excuse to take on OQ, and the dense fog was a fun and unique challenge this morning. We couldn't see more than 50-100 yards on any shot until about the 6th hole. Funny thing is, almost everyone in our group played great in the fog and then went to crap as the fog lifted. Staff here is great and conditions are very good right now, so it's a good time to find your own excuse to visit this course.

Hallelujah for the rain this past winter because it did miracles for some courses. Oak Quarry is now one fine recipient of these rains. The course is immaculate. The rough is lush, the greens are smooth as silk and the fairways are butter.

Do yourself a huge favor before it gets warm. Get you butt out there and plays this gem in the hills.

Played Oak Quarry this morning with some great Pals. Watched my buddy Eagle Number two. It was windy today so the scoring wasnt very consistent, but the course from aerating 3 weeks ago is in really great shape, when you place your tee in the tee box sometimes your tee goes all the way down as you have found a covered up punch hole since the tee boxes are very healthy. Fairways were very nice, like carpet in most areas, some wet parts still. Rough was normal 1 to 3 inches with very little bare spots to be found. Green were not as fast they appear but balls rolled smoothly. Bunkers thin, hard pan met your club immediately upon impact to make sand play challenging. Great day inspite of the wind. Always enjoy Oak Quarry

Have wanted to make it back to Oak Quarry for the longest time and finally had a chance to do so, with even extra motivation after hearing about the conditions from Gregholla the last time we played last week. He raved about its current condition, and he was absolutely right. The Rock is in prime shape right now from tee to green. Fairways have very good coverage throughout (a tad thin here or there on the fringes maybe but most of it is awesome), and the rough is of varying length but mostly lush and playable. The tee boxes are all in pretty optimum shape although here or there a bit shaggy, but no big deal. And the bunkers are good - not great, but very good. The fairway bunkers are firm, the greenside bunkers have ample sand - pretty much just how it should be. The greens, now a few weeks after aerating, are pretty perfect right now. Just the right firmness to hold shots well but also to challenge your putting speed when you're on them. Not too many ball marks at all to speak of and they're very well covered and consistent on the speed, which is currently medium fast. POP was a bit of bummer (a little under five hours) since the group in front of mine was incredibly slow (as evidenced by never seeing them have to wait for a green to clear so they were well behind the pace). I even called the front desk to ask them to send someone out to push them a bit, but never saw any marshall come out after they agreed to do it. C'est la Vie. Saw the cart girl at least 2x before calling it a day, so that was good. If you haven't played Oak Quarry yet, it's a real treat for those optics lovers. Some of the holes are just so cool to play and the challenge is in not getting caught up in all of the awesome scenery. But it's a very unique landscape and the course has really been masterfully carved out of it. Highly recommended right now.

Had an awesome time out here for a little birthday round with @apisarski @fastfish443 and my girlfriend. This course is one of the most scenic golf course's I've had the pleasure or playing. The greens were just punched last weekend, so they were really bumpy. The fairways were great, same with the tee-box's. I can't wait to play here again when the greens are in better shape. I will be back to play this course in the coming months.
